Chapter 294: Knowing When To Stop
Chapter 294: Knowing When To Stop
Pierre Bronsnic's POV:
No matter what it was that I had to discuss, I was not going to do it while sitting there in the vehicle with the lovely, young Miss Celia. There are just some things that she does not need to be made aware of, especially as of late. She has experienced far too much since I met her, much of which has not been at my own hand.
An introduction to the life of the BDSM Master is supposed to be done so... with careful precision and taking your time to be precise. There comes great control and the maintenance of control therein. There is also trust that goes right along with that, as well. The submissive has to trust the master, and the master must trust to know when the submissive has had enough.
Sometimes the master has to take matters into their own hands and assess the actions and demeanor of the activity when they feel the subordinate has had enough, even if the subordinate is able to respond with the chosen word or not. Still, there is a lot of control that is involved. I have known several individuals who claim to be a Dom and take things way too far.
For one to be able to sign a contract to be a Submissive is no light thing. Those particular individuals have even claimed to sell their Submissives to others just like themselves. That is horrible, and gives us who take this role as Master... to a whole new degree. There are some lines that you just don't cross. One of those would be to sell another individual to make a profit.
I continued to ponder these specific thoughts as I walked several vehicle links back to meet with my other men who were standing there waiting on Antoine and me. They were already going back and forth in conversation.
"Do you have any word?" I spoke in French because it was a whole lot easier for me than speaking in English.
"How are Jean-Paul and Claude?" Antoine couldn't help but ask as he was second-in-command.
"They were luckily unharmed," Sean, one of my other guards, spoke up as he was checking on his phone.
"Who the fuck thinks they can make an attempt to take out our boss and not have us retaliate against them?" Asked another one of my guards, Owen.
"Were any of them captured in the collision?" I asked as I looked around at each of their faces.
That's when everyone turned over to look at Lucas. He was checking his phone and then looked up with a reluctant expression.
"I'm sorry, sir, to have to report this to you," Lucas said as he held his phone out in front of them, where some of the other guards were standing so that they could pass it on over to me.
Just as I took the phone in hand, Lucas continued when he said, "Both of them were killed in the collision. The vehicle was clean. We have no idea who they were working for or why they were chasing us. After we took the exit, the other two vehicles peeled off."
Did you put a tracer on?" Antoine asked right at that moment. "Did anyone think to put a tracer on?"
I could tell he was frustrated. Ever since Michel was injured back in the States, Antoine has stepped up to the plate to assume the main role until Michel is able to do the job. I had no doubt in the skill set that Michel had. It's just that at this particular moment in time, Antoine seemed to be running the show. I had no issue with that, just as long as the job got done.
Right then, Michel walked up to me with his phone in his hand. I glanced over at him and then looked down at the picture from Lucas's phone.
"Yeah, I don't think they're going to walk away from that," I said as I started to pass the phone back around to everyone else so that they could admire the picture still lit up on the screen.
Apparently, their vehicle wasn't as well reinforced as ours, since we still had armor plates on the outside and built into the exterior. I ensured it was polished smooth after the work was done, so it would look like any other ordinary vehicle on the road. I knew it was good to upgrade a few things, and it was a good thing I did.
I didn't see any reason at the time, but I knew anything could happen at any moment, since the world is the most uncertain place. That's when I reached over and took the phone from Michel's outstretched hand as I began to address the rest of my men.
"Find out what you can," I said before I looked down at the device I was now holding. "Wait, hold on a moment."
Everyone was just about to walk off at that point in the various directions that they would need to go, while some of the others were going to take the vehicles that were left unscathed back to the parking garage. However, that's not what happened. I was trying to read over a message that had come across Michel's phone.
This message was from Mathias. The message read: "Hello Pierre. I got wind that you had an interesting trip on your way home today. Mr. Trent didn't feel at liberty at the time to tell you that he had a car following you. No, please take note, it was for your safety and that of the lovely Miss Celia. He was concerned for her sake, considering what happened to our convoy."
I paused in my reading as I looked up and over to the side, and I was shocked to find out this bit of news. I then turned to the side and looked directly at Michel.
"When did this message come in?" I asked him, as everyone else was still standing there, wondering exactly what I had just read.
"My phone chimed just as I was walking over here," Michel said at that moment.
I also confirmed it while looking at his phone. I scrolled to the top of the message to see exactly when the text came through on the phone. Sure enough. All I had to do was look at myself instead of asking him, but instinct would've had me ask first.
"I read the beginning of the message and stopped reading as I knew you wouldn't need to confirm this for yourself," Michel said as he looked at me, then around at the faces of the other men who stood under his position.
Everyone has a thankful look on their face as they look at Michel. I knew what they were thinking. I knew they had all heard exactly what had happened to him back in the States, and I was thankful I had such loyal men under my command. Granted, I had hired them to be security. When I did so, this was the furthest thing from my mind that would have ever happened while working for me.
