Chapter 238

Chapter 238

"That's right, I'm willing," Alexander said.

Lila was momentarily stunned.

When he said "I'm willing," his voice was deep and firm, reminding her of those scenes in TV dramas where the groom says "I do" with determination at the wedding.

But why would he be willing?

Hadn't Alexander always been unhappy about Grandma forcing him to marry her?

Even though he'd said they should get along well, that didn't mean he had to respect her opinion on something like wearing wedding rings.

From what she knew of him, he wasn't someone who was this easy to talk to.

Lila couldn't figure it out, so she just stared at Alexander and got to the bottom of it, "Can I ask why?"

"Why what?"

"Why are you willing to wear matching rings with me? Aren't you afraid some people will see and get the wrong idea?"

He chuckled softly, "The wrong idea?"

After that question, Alexander said coolly, "Didn't I already tell you that we have a real marriage relationship? There's nothing to get wrong."

Having said that, his gaze deepened as he looked at her, "Or does Mrs. Sinclair's mention of 'wrong idea' have some deeper meaning? Why don't you explain it to me in detail?"

"I don't have any deeper meaning."

"In that case, we'll go buy matching rings this weekend. This time, Mrs. Sinclair, you better look carefully and choose ones you think fit well and can be worn daily. If you dare not wear them after we buy them this time, I'll take it to mean you're intentionally trying to attract other men, and then, your fate will be...?"

He didn't finish the rest, but the threatening tone in his words was already quite heavy.

Lila nodded instinctively, "I understand."

After responding, as if afraid he wouldn't believe her, she promised again, "I definitely won't take them off, don't worry, boss."

Alexander, seeing her obediently agree without arguing back, nodded with satisfaction.

However, thinking about what Wesley had said, his expression turned cold again, "Stay away from Wesley."

Lila nodded without hesitation, "I definitely will, don't worry, boss. Basically, except for sleeping, I spend all my time with you, right under your nose all the time. You can see whoever I talk to, so don't worry about anything happening between Wesley and me."

"Who told you I'm worried?"

"Isn't that what it is?"

Alexander said coldly, "I'm warning you. If I find out you give Wesley any response, I'll let everyone know you cheated during marriage, make it impossible for you to stay in all of Oceancrest City, turn you into a pariah, and then drive you, that rat, out of Oceancrest City!"

Lila was shocked by the fate Alexander had imagined for her.

Was it necessary to be this harsh?

She clearly hadn't done anything yet.

But after coming to her senses, Lila smiled. "Well, but if you spread that around, it means your wife rejected and betrayed you, which seems pretty embarrassing."

Hearing this, Alexander's expression immediately changed, and he said sternly, "Lila!"

She knew he was embarrassed and angry, but she wasn't afraid of him now. Instead, she smiled, "I'm telling the truth, don't you think? You're Alexander, after all. If even you can be cheated on, everyone will definitely think the man who won your wife's heart is superior to you.. Think about it—either way, it's a terrible look for you, Boss.. So boss, instead of threats, why not try being nicer to me? Use your charm to ensure my eyes never wander. That way I won't cheat, and you won't be embarrassed either."

Having said all that, Lila even playfully winked at him. "Boss, am I right?"
