Chapter 183
Lila was about to answer.
But Alexander continued, "I let you stay in the same office with me, not so you can randomly interrupt and disturb my work whenever you have nothing to do. Got it?"
She nodded. "Got it."
"If you know that, why did you interrupt me for no reason?"
"I only knew after you just said it. I didn't know before."
After saying that, she even sincerely promised, "Don't worry, boss. I definitely won't interrupt you while you're working next time."
Lila's response was flawless, which made Alexander even more annoyed.
But he had no legitimate reason to hold her accountable.
Finally, Alexander waved his hand at her, signaling her to go wherever she needed to go.
Lila turned around and went back to the break room. Who doesn't know a thing or two about handling people??
At 5:30 PM, Lila packed up her things, got up to leave work, and prepared to meet Elara for their appointment.
Leaving the driver's break room, she followed the principle of not getting in trouble with Alexander and greeted him at his desk, "Boss, I'm off work now. I'm going to have dinner with a friend, so you'll need to arrange your own dinner."
Alexander let out a response, "Got it."
Lila looked at him not even lifting his head and asked one more question, "Boss, what are you planning to do for dinner?"
Alexander looked up at her and curved his lips. "I have plans too."
"With Ms. Hill?"
"Is that any of your business?"
Lila was choked up and couldn't speak.
She replied flatly, "It's none of my business. I'm leaving then."
Alexander picked up the car keys from his desk and gestured to her. "Need a car?"
"No need. Driving is pretty tiring. I'll just take the subway. There's a direct line, very convenient."
"Suit yourself."
Lila turned around and left the CEO's office.
Not long after she left, Ms. Hill came upstairs to remind Alexander about their dinner at Oceancrest City Mall.
The two drove separate cars from the Sinclair Group underground parking garage.
Twenty minutes later, Lila met Elara at Oceancrest City Mall.
As soon as they met, Elara grabbed her arm and let out a long breath, complaining, "Lila, I'm really going crazy because of our boss and chairman."
"What happened?"
"My boss just messes around with flirty relationships all day, changes girlfriends faster than changing clothes, doesn't take work seriously, doesn't care about company matters, and acts improper all the time. Then the company chairman always gives me trouble, saying I don't manage my boss well. Please, I'm his secretary, not his wife. How am I supposed to manage him?"
Lila agreed, "Exactly! What is your chairman thinking?"
Elara shrugged, "How would I know? It's so exhausting."
Following the principle of solving problems for her friend, Lila thought seriously and asked, "So what's your boss's psychology behind frequently changing girlfriends?"
"No idea."
"I think you should try to understand. If you know what psychology drives him to frequently change girlfriends, you can address the root cause, handle him, and then your chairman won't give you trouble anymore."
Hearing this, Elara felt greatly inspired.
She nodded. "You're right! Why didn't I think of that? So next I'll try to understand what's going on with my boss, maybe ask other colleagues?"
Lila nodded. "That could work."
Elara put her arm around her shoulder and pinched her cheek. "Our Lila is not only beautiful but also smart."
Lila snuggled with her, then took her hand. "Elara is mainly confused because you're caught up in this situation. As an observer, I can see things more clearly, so I can think of solutions."
"No, you're just smart."
"I am not."
The two were playfully bantering as they headed into the restaurant when they accidentally bumped into someone.
When Lila came to her senses, she saw that the person in front of her was actually someone she had just seen yesterday... Julie!
