Chapter 182
Alexander's eyes flickered slightly, seeming dissatisfied with the suggestion. "What's so good about Spanish food?"
Ms. Hill, rejected and afraid of losing the chance to have dinner with him, quickly suggested, "How about French food then? There's also a French restaurant outside the company that tastes pretty good."
But Alexander said, "I've already tried that French restaurant. Not interested."
Ms. Hill was in a difficult position, but she didn't want to miss this opportunity to dine with Alexander. She asked softly, "Then Mr. Sinclair, is there anything you'd like to eat? My treat."
"I heard there's a newly opened place at Oceancrest City Mall that's supposed to be pretty good. I wonder if Ms. Hill would be interested?"
"A newly opened place?"
After asking back, she smiled. "Does Mr. Sinclair want to try the new restaurant?"
Alexander gave a casual acknowledgment.
"I'm curious too, so let's go there. Yes, let's have dinner at the newly opened restaurant at Oceancrest City Mall."
"Okay."
With that, Alexander handed the signed documents to Ms. Hill and said, "Ms. Hill, see you tonight."
Ms. Hill met Alexander's bright blue eyes and quickly looked away. Taking the documents, she smiled and repeated, "See you tonight."
With that, she turned and walked toward the office door.
Lila sat in the driver's lounge, unable to hear exactly what they were saying outside. She only vaguely heard the two discussing dinner plans. She wasn't sure if Alexander had agreed at first, but seeing Ms. Hill turn around with a big smile on her face, she guessed Alexander had most likely agreed!
He agreed.
He actually agreed?
Why did he suddenly agree after turning down Ms. Hill so many times?
Was the financial report Ms. Hill handed Alexander today particularly impressive? Or did he suddenly notice today that Ms. Hill was very attractive?
Or maybe it was because no one was making him dinner tonight, so he had to go out to eat with Ms. Hill?
Lila felt something was off.
The detached mood she had while observing earlier was suddenly gone.
She stayed in the driver's lounge for another half hour, then felt the need to use the restroom.
Lila glanced toward Alexander's desk and saw he was still working. She looked toward the office door. The employees in the executive office outside were all working, and no one was about to come in.
She got up and left the driver's lounge.
Alexander heard the sound but didn't look at her, continuing to work on his own.
However, when Lila reached the lounge door, she turned to look at Alexander and called out to him, "Boss, are you busy?"
"Are you blind?" He glanced at her sideways and asked back without mercy.
Lila's words got stuck in her throat.
Her expression turned cold. The urge to ask him about his plans with Ms. Hill instantly vanished. She rolled her eyes and went straight into the lounge to the restroom.
Alexander frowned.
That's it?
A moment later, Lila came out of the restroom and walked straight toward the driver's lounge.
"Stop!" Alexander's voice rang out behind her.
She stopped in her tracks and turned to look at him, asking coolly, "What?"
Alexander didn't answer but asked instead, "What did you want to say just now?"
"Weren't you busy?"
"Now, I'm done."
Lila was somewhat surprised for a moment.
What a coincidence! She had something to say just now too.
But now, her desire to communicate had been killed off by him. She had nothing to say.
She smiled faintly. "I didn't want to say anything. I was just asking casually."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure."
Alexander thought she was deliberately keeping him in suspense. Feeling annoyed, he immediately questioned her, "Lila, do you know how valuable my time is?"
