Chapter 127
Lila stared at Alexander, pressed her lips together slightly, and asked in a low voice, "If we go to the Mansion, and Grandma asks how you hurt your head, what are you going to say?"
"Tell the truth." His expression was indifferent.
But Lila was anxious, "Then won't Grandma know we didn't sleep together?"
Alexander glanced at her, "So?"
She came up with an idea, "Just say you accidentally bumped it."
"You think everyone's as stupid as you, stupid enough to lift a rock and drop it on their own foot?"
"So you think getting hit by someone else is more honorable?"
He looked up, his deep blue eyes showing a hint of displeasure. When he spoke, it was in that bullying tone again, "Lila, are you talking back to me?"
Lila gritted her teeth and stood up from the sofa, "Say whatever you want to Grandma. If she finds out we didn't sleep together, so be it. Anyway, Grandma won't do anything to me. The one she'll give a hard time to will be you. Don't regret it then."
With that, she turned and walked toward the stairs.
"Stop!" Alexander's cold voice came from behind her.
Lila stopped and looked back at him, "What now?"
Alexander frowned, his tone dangerous, "What now?"
She pursed her lips and corrected herself, "...What is it?"
"I have plans tonight and won't be home for dinner. You're on your own."
Hearing this, Lila rolled her eyes internally.
He said it like when he was home for dinner, he was the one who handled it. Wasn't she the one who cooked every meal?
She didn't respond, saying flatly, "Then after we eat lunch at the Mansion, I'll just stay there to keep Grandma company, have dinner there too, and come back to the villa after."
Alexander sneered, "Nice try, but who said we're going to the Mansion for lunch?"
Lila froze.
He didn't say that?
Right, he didn't. She had just overheard a few words when Alexander was on the phone with Grandma and guessed.
After figuring this out, she immediately put on a smile, "So honey, are we eating lunch at home?"
"What else? Starve?"
"I'll make you something delicious for lunch, I promise you'll love it."
Alexander glared at her and coldly judged, "You change your attitude faster than flipping a page."
Lila was in a good mood now and didn't care what he said. She even patiently explained why she had a bad attitude earlier, "Actually, I was mainly worried that if we went to the Mansion and Grandma gave you a hard time, you'd be unhappy. You're my husband, so I want you to be happy."
After all, if he was happy, she could have an easier time.
Alexander didn't comment on this. He got up from the sofa and nodded toward the documents on the coffee table, "Clean all that up and bring it to the study."
With that, Alexander walked past Lila and headed upstairs first.
She looked at his back and belatedly responded, "Okay, I'll bring it up right away."
Lila was in a good mood, humming as she gathered the documents from the table.
Eating lunch at home meant Grandma wouldn't find out she'd hit Alexander on the head.
And tonight Alexander was going out to eat with friends, so she could help Ethan too.
Everything worked out perfectly.
She finished gathering the documents and took them upstairs.
When she entered the study, Alexander had just lit a cigarette.
Lila noticed the lighter in his right hand was still the one she'd given him. She thought to herself that he kept holding onto it, couldn't bear to put it down. Did he really like her gift that much?
If he liked it so much, why did he mock her earlier?
Something's seriously wrong with him.
