Chapter 121

Chapter 121

Lila had no idea whether Alexander's words were true or false.

But when she heard herself say "innocent young girl," why did a bunch of porn ads pop up in her mind?

The car remained quiet for a short while.

After a moment, Lila looked at Alexander. "Boss, tomorrow is Saturday. Can I take the day off too?"

With his eyes closed, resting, he spoke flatly, "Drivers get eight days off per month. You need to request leave at least one day in advance."

Lila didn't raise any objections.

Because she knew it wouldn't help anyway.

She said, "Then I'd like to take Sunday off."

His thin lips moved as he pressed, "What for?"

Lila chuckled, "Taking time off is my basic right as an employee. Eight days a month is my leave. I don't need to tell you where I'm going, do I?"

Alexander suddenly opened his eyes.

From the corner of his eye, he glanced at her sitting in the driver's seat to his left, his lips turning downward, "Is that so?"

Lila spoke with full confidence, "Yes."

But as soon as she finished speaking, he informed her quite domineeringly, "You can't take Sunday off."

She immediately frowned, "Why not?"

"Because I have something to do and need my driver."

"But you didn't say that just now."

Alexander adjusted his posture, looking at her with indifferent eyes, "Employees need to tell their boss in advance when requesting leave—that's the rule. But have you ever seen a company where bosses have to tell their drivers their schedule in advance?"

Lila was secretly angry.

Thinking it over, she still wasn't satisfied, so she muttered quietly, "I became your driver right after graduation and never worked at another company. How would I know?"

"Well, let me tell you—there's no rule about bosses reporting their schedules to employees."

"OK."

She was unhappy, holding back her frustration as she glanced at him and asked again, "So what do you have going on this weekend, and what time do you need your driver?"

"What, I tell you what time I need my driver, and you're planning to coordinate the rest of the time to do your own thing?"

"I'm going to see my grandmother."

Hearing this, Alexander's expression paused slightly, and the challenging look in his eyes disappeared.

He withdrew his gaze from her face, staring at the scenery beyond the windshield, and gave a faint "Mm", "My weekend plan is also to visit grandmother."

"Alright then, I'll go see my grandmother next weekend instead."

"I'm talking about your grandmother."

Lila froze, "What did you say?"

She didn't hear wrong, did she?

He said he was going to see her grandmother?

While she was still puzzled, Alexander was already answering her question unhurriedly, "Last time on the phone with your grandmother, didn't she invite me to visit your hometown when I'm free? This weekend, I'm free."

Lila patiently explained, "Actually, my grandmother was just being polite."

Alexander glared at her, "What do you mean? I'm not welcome?"

Lila quickly denied it, "No, I just didn't expect you to take what my grandmother said so seriously. I thought since you dislike me so much, you wouldn't want to meet my family."

Alexander scoffed lightly and tossed her a line, "I dislike you—that has nothing to do with your grandmother. Stop being presumptuous."

Lila was left speechless.

How was she being presumptuous?

It was clearly because he never finished what he was saying, never easily revealed his thoughts, liked to make people guess, and she couldn't figure him out—so she could only try to understand based on her own interpretation.

Still, his wanting to see her grandmother was something she hadn't expected.

Lila couldn't help but imagine what Alexander, who always liked to boss her around, would be like when he met her grandmother.
