Chapter Twenty-Seven
Chapter Twenty-Seven
Bexley
I was deliriously happy, taking turns to slow dance with my husbands before the sunset backdrop. We were married, bound by a contract where only death could separate us. It was good enough for me. The Wolfe Brothers were finally mine.
“How did you pull this off in the middle of a mission?” I asked, impressed.
Asher huffed a smile. “I can’t take any of the credit. It was all Braxton, Dominic, and Cruz.”
“The game “what’s your favourite?” was a ploy to get information from me, wasn’t it?” I figured that out for myself.
I admired the platinum ring, wondering where they had the time to find this at such short notice. It was a perfect fit.
“How did you know my ring size?” I inquired.
“It is easy to measure your finger when you sleep like the dead,” he quipped.
I swatted his chest, delivering a playful tap.
“We have our sources,” he replied, giving nothing away. “You have Martha to thank for picking up the ring.” Asher toyed with my fingers, tilting my hand so that the diamond-encrusted platinum sparkled in the light.
There was still so much we had to discuss, but it could wait. This was our night. As our friends retired to their beds, my husbands led me by the hand for another surprise.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked as we meandered through the vineyard.
I was so tempted to reach out and pull a grape from a vine. The red berries looked juicy and ripe for the picking. The champagne had gone straight to my head. I was glad to have four sober chaperones to guide me through the maze of fruit. My men had taken care of me, keeping me on my toes all night. Now they brought me to a fairy-lit gazebo, laden with plush cushions for us to lie upon. I pulled off my shoes and carried them in one hand, tossing them alongside the wooden structure. We had a magnificent view of the vineyard from here. The roof of the slumbering château poked out from behind the vines, and a dilapidated windmill that had lasted throughout the ages, creaked in the gentle breeze. I could see for miles, following the patchwork blanket of fields that led down to a small body of water. In the fading light, my eyes expanded in the beauty of this moment and a genuine sense of peace touched my soul.
“It’s not much of a honeymoon, but you get the idea,” Cruz mentioned, hinting that we’d be consummating our vows beneath the stars.
The châteaux walls were not as thick as we’d like them to be, so this would have to suffice. Cementing our vows was one thing, but our friends wouldn’t appreciate being kept up for hours with bouncy bedsprings.
“It’s perfect,” I told them. “This is such a wonderful surprise.”
“The night isn’t over yet,” Asher assured. “Turn around and let us get you out of this gown.”
“Be careful with it. This belonged to my mother,” I reminded them. “If we have a girl, I want to hand it down to her.”
Maybe that was presumptuous of me, both assuming we would have a daughter and that she would want to wear a dress from the eighties, as timeless as it was. It had always been my dream to wear it on my wedding day. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
“Hold still,” Asher urged as he plucked at the laces, then unhooked the bodice.
The delicate tulle floated down to the ground. I stepped out of it. Asher gathered the mass and folded it neatly, placing it somewhere safe. My men marvelled at the sight of me like I was an angel sent down from Heaven.
“I still can’t believe she said yes to us all,” Cruz admitted his thoughts out loud.
Braxton held me around the neck and waist as he tipped me backwards, his lips hovering over mine.
“I can.” He looked at me as if I was the centre of his universe. “If there’s one thing Bexley loves more than anything in this world, it’s cock,” he muttered. A lewd chuckle tickled my lips as he kissed me.
The next thing I knew, I was lying on my back with my men writhing above me, feasting upon my bare flesh like creatures of the night. They peeled away their clothes, so that we were all completely naked. One minute, I could touch and feel my way around them, and the next, they bound my hands with a long piece of silk. Helpless and at their mercy, all I could do was lie there and accept the pleasures they granted me, their furious breath teasing me, kissing, sucking, biting, creating a plethora of sensations that would drive a saint to sin.
Another silk tie covered my eyes, stealing my sight to heighten my other senses. Silky rosebuds traced the contour of my face, my neck, and body, circling the puckered buds upon my breasts. My pulse soared, my skin flushing with molten heat as they took turns kissing me, changing places as they pleasured me, licking between my thighs. My clit bounced as they devoured me, building pressure in my stomach. The vast countryside swallowed my gasps of rapture, the moon and stars bearing witness like celestial voyeurs. I couldn't tell who was who as they made love to me slowly, rolling me onto my back, my front, dragging me to my knees and mounting me from behind. I lost count of how many times I came and how many times they filled me. Electricity raced around my body with every passionate stroke, and whispered 'I love you.' My loins ached with fulfilment, slumping against the cushions in a panting mess.
We lay together, boneless, wrung out, and spent, staring up at the glittering stars, wondering what the future held for us. It wasn’t easy to block out the fear, not wanting to ruin such a beautiful night. But we avoided the subject and talked about where we saw ourselves a year from now.
“I always wanted to learn how to paint,” Asher mentioned, gazing heavenward as if he was making a wish. “Maybe I’ll give it a go someday. If you think Lowry’s stickmen are good, just wait until you see mine.”
We lay side by side, Asher and Dominic on one side of me and Braxton and Cruz on the other. Moonlight bathed our bodies in a pale silver hue. The crickets chirping among the twisted vines. This was what it felt like to be happy.
“I’ve seen your stick figures, and all I can suggest to you is, keep reading your psychology books. I was going to say, don't give up your day job, but look how well that's working out for all of us.” Dominic realized his mistake and was quick to change the topic. “On a brighter note, I’m going to teach Bexley how to surf,” he promised.
Braxton gave a low whistle. “That I'd love to see,” he agreed. “But first, I want to teach her how to skydive.”
“You will not,” I flat-our refused. “I prefer to keep my feet on the ground, thank you very much. Why can’t you take up safe hobbies, like knitting? Or bird-watching?”
That would happen when pigs learned to fly
Cruz chuckled. “There’s only one bird we’re interested in watching, and that's you.” He trailed his fingers along my thigh, causing me to shiver. “But that reminds me, I’ve been thinking . . .”
“Uh-oh,” Dominic dragged out the ominous words. “Wait for it . . .”
Cruz turned to lean upon his elbow. “Hold on, give me a chance to say my piece.”
His brothers paused, allowing him to continue. “I think it’s time we put a little thought into what we’re going to do when all this is . . . you know.” He didn’t dredge up the current situation, just hinted at it. “We all agreed that after we marry Bexley, we would resign from the agency and merge our security companies into one elite organization.”
“We did,” Asher agreed. “I know our present circumstances are not great, but I'm confident we can resolve things. We just have to remain positive. As for branching out alone, well . . . I think we ought to discuss this with Bexley.”
I gazed up at the stars. “Will our merger entail us travelling the globe, solving mysteries, and saving the world from dangerous criminals?”
“Maybe,” Braxton replied, dragging out the word. “Has Asher let it slip already?”
“No,” I defended. “But I appreciate you can’t retire from this life without keeping one foot in and one foot out. If I know you as well as I think I do, you’re planning to form your own Secret Service.”
They didn’t deny it. This confirmed what I thought.
“What if I choose to be involved?” I put the question out there for them to mull it over.
“Where do I fit into your plans or do you intend to keep me barefoot and pregnant? I read the contingency plan from cover to cover before I signed it. You all want children. I’m not saying that I don’t desire the same things as you do, but what I don’t want is for my husbands to be half-way across the world doing god knows what while I’m stuck home at Sandbanks or wherever we decide to live.”
Please don’t say Svalbard or I’ll throw myself off the Eiffel Tower.
“We plan to hand-pick from the S.A.S and train them to become like us. It may take a few years, but we’re aiming to have Alpha Elite up and running by the time you feel ready to conceive our first child. After all, our kids will have two retired grandfathers to play nanny to them, won’t they?” Cruz reinforced, nominating my dad and Uncle Zane for babysitting duties.
It was just as I hoped. We were in this together.
