Chapter 7
There was nothing memorable about lunch, everyone just stared and refused to let me sit at their table but that was alright. I just sat by myself and ate the bland cafeteria food if I only I could get a hot chocolate to go with it.
I ate my food in a hurry and got out of there as fast as I could when I saw Annabel walk in, the last thing I wanted was starting trouble with her.
While in class I had looked around to see if I would recognize the girls I saw last night but didn’t, that meant they were in a different class from me. Now I had to find another way to reach them, or maybe just talk to Annabel and see what she would say.
I kicked up tiny stones as I headed to one place I knew would help me clear my mind, the river side.
It was at the other end of the school and was just as big as the ocean where the academy stood. I was only able to see it the day Annabel took me to my dorm, but I never got a chance to check it after then.
I kept my head down as several students passed me and it wasn’t until I was standing beside the flowing river that I let out a breath of relieve.
I imagined the river flowing away with all the trouble and the disturbing event of yesterday then I wished the river would lead my father to me.
Knowing I couldn’t get any closer than that as the water body was freezing cold, I sat behind a huge rock instead where the river was still in view.
Colorful tiny birds sang as they flew over making everywhere more beautiful and serene that it originally was.
I pulled out my diary after making myself comfortable on the floor and started writing. First I put down how I got back to my room after seeing Corie with a question mark in front, I’ll have to ask her that later, maybe she had someone carry me back but why?
Then I went ahead to describe the people I had seen, how their fangs elongated and pierced the neck of their victim and then the words they chanted even though it made no sense to me.
I wasn’t good at drawing, but I tried my best to draw them as they stood in a circle and the two girls that had been standing in it.
It wasn’t until I closed my diary after writing all that I could think of that I noticed that I was not alone. I peeked from my place beside a rock to see the blonde guy walk in.
He made straight for the river, his hands grabbing the hem of his t-shirt and pulling it over his head.
I should probably warn him that he wasn’t alone, but I didn’t, this might be my only chance of seeing him up close and being able to admire his body without feeling like some creep that was always staring at him.
His pants were the next to go which made my mouth hang open—he was here to skinny dip. That was definitely when I should’ve looked away.
My mouth watered when he hooked his thumb on the waist of his briefs and then pulled it down, his white well-defined butt staring me right in the face. His entire back and muscles flexed as he folded his cloth on the floor.
It was safe that I have never seen a more defined and attractive guy than him, even the popular quarterback in my old school had nothing on him.
From the way his back ripped as he moved to his taut thighs-wait! What was that dangling in between?
My eyes widened in horror as I realized what I was looking at—his dick. Trust me I really wanted to look away but something in me kept my head there, unmoving.
I have never seen a live dick in my life, but I knew his would easily be among the biggest and thinking of those dirty thoughts made me clamp my thighs today as warmth began to pool at the center.
He entered the river slowly and I almost called out to him that the water was freezing, and he could catch a cold, but he seemed to enjoy the temperature of the water, so I stayed where I was, ogling him without a shame in the world.
He swam for a while and I grabbed my diary, flipping to an empty page and attempted to draw this magnificent being that was swimming like the water was his source of life.
Just when I thought something happened to him as he has been underwater longer than he should have, he broke through the surface of the water. His hair stuck to the side of his face; I didn’t even know his hair was that long.
He pushed his entire hair back before diving in again and leaving me to sketch as fast as I could. The frame of his face took shape first on my paper and then his neck, which was all I could get till he came up to the surface again.
This time there was a smile on his face, and I rushed to capture him, my drawing would obviously not do him justice, so I committed the image of him in front of me to memory.
He went back down, and I focused on the drawing, sketching all the way to his butt which was the only thing I was able to capture exactly as it was.
I went down to his eyes next and tried to draw that smile that had been on his face before highlighting his plump lips. I drew uneven circles around him to represent the water he was in and give it a finer finishing.
I was about to close my book when a drop of water hit the edge, what the hell? I looked up to check if it was about to rain when I saw familiar eyes that I just finished drawing looking at me with amusement dancing around them.
Everything in my world froze up and he stayed there staring at me, how did he get out of the water, and I didn’t hear a thing?
The shame of my actions caught up to me as the pink tint of my cheeks increased, spreading through my entire face.
“If it isn’t my lucky day” he said, his voice sounding like he was miles away, but it succeeded in breaking me out of my frozen spell.
“Hello, I didn’t you see you there” I said, hoping my voice didn’t convey the uneasiness I felt.
He looked at me with a sly smile and I knew that he definitely saw me looking or at least he knew that I was.
“I swear I wasn’t looking; I was so into writing that I didn’t even realize someone else was here, so I really didn’t see anything but my book and pen” I said, gesturing towards him with my left hand.
He laughed softly at that, his eyes creasing at the sides “I believe you” he said but that mischievous expression of his told me he knew otherwise.
“What are you drawing there anyway?” he asked, his eyes already on my book. I snapped it shut knowing that he already caught a glimpse of himself, naked and wet in my book. Still I lied.
“Oh nothing, just the water and the birds” I answered, putting the book away in my bag with my eyes looking at anywhere but him.
“You must be one hell of an artist” he said as he made himself comfortable in front of me. With the way his legs were crossed my eyes immediately went to the bulges at the center of his briefs knowing that a while ago I had seen them bare.
He cleared his throat slightly, putting my attention back up “See anything you like?”
I choked at that, hitting my chest lightly as I tried to breathe “What?” I wheezed, the forceful intake of air hurting my chest.
He moved to my side and started to rub my back which didn’t help at all because he was like touching me which sent my entire senses haywire because I never believed in a million years that he would be here beside me, rubbing my back.
It was a good minute before I finally calmed down, my breath finally evening out. He removed his hand from my back and resumed his position in front of me making me miss his touch.
“Why were you swimming anyway? The water is like freezing cold, you’ll catch a cold” I said, reaching out to touch his forehead slightly with the tip of my fingers and flinched from how cold it was against my warm skin.
“What is it?” he asked, and I shook my head, unable to spring up any words of my own.
He laughed, seeming to enjoy how flustered he made me “The water is just fine as it is” he said, sparing the river a glance before turning back to me “Swimming is how I get a lot of things off my mind”.
“That makes sense” I mutter to myself. I slipped the strap of my bag over my shoulder needing to get away from him from how much he was making my mind go crazy.
“Trying to escape from me?” he asked but there wasn’t any sadness in his voice, just pure excitement.
I shook my head and kept my bag back on the floor “No, I was just…” I trailed off, no excuse coming to my head.
“It’s fine Liz, I was all up in your space anyway” he said but what caught my attention was what he called me.
“How do you know my name?” I asked, knowing that I never spoke to him once and it was unlikely that the other students told him my name.
“I’ve known your name for the longest time” he answered, like it was something I should’ve known.
I wanted to tell him that didn’t make sense, but I let it go, happy that he was talking to me “But I don’t know yours”
He feigned a look of pain and put his palm over his chest “That hurt” he said, then he broke into a smile unable to keep up the facade “The name’s Damon”
I didn’t realize I was smiling so much until my cheeks began to hurt. Damon. It was exactly the type of name he would bear.
“You can say it out loud you know” he teased “You look like you’re trying to get a feel of it in your mouth” he added but I had a feeling he wasn’t just talking about his name in my mouth because I wasn’t either.
“Damon” I whispered and watched the brightest smile form on his face, “Damon” I said louder this time, unsure of what we were doing.
“Now that’s more like it, my name has never sounded better. I should’ve told you my name immediately you got here so I could hear you say it over and over again” he said. He stretched on the grass beneath us and made himself comfortable, lying on his side and using his elbows to keep his wait up while his eyes remained on me.
“Why are you always staring at me?” I asked him the one question that had bugged my mind the longest.
His eyes reduced to slits and his lips turned up at one side before he spoke “I’ve waited for you a very long time Elizabeth so it’s hard keeping my eyes away from you. It feels like you’ll disappear when I’m not looking” he answered.
My brows creased together “But you’ve only known me the couple of days I’ve been here”
He scoffed at that “I’ve known you longer than that and I’ve wanted you for the longest time” he said, his voice sending vibrations all over my body even though he wasn’t touching me.
