Chapter 60

Chapter 60
Elizabeth's calm demeanour disappeared in that one second. The man examined her creased brow, and his lips twirled into what she anticipated to be a vicious grin. The crowd shouted and whooped, urging the quandary man on. He wriggled and propelled his way back down the path he came from.

"Bring her to my chamber!" He instructed, his powerful voice sounding in her ears.

She thought, So this is what was to become of her? But his supposed to-be saviour looks rather familiar. His eyes were like Alpha Henry. Was she mistaken? She was to be ruined by a man after he rescued her from a horrendous crowd. What was stopping him from eliminating her after he finished with her? The suspicions flickered through her mind. She was oblivious, but David had pulled the ropes from her wrists and started to steer her after her rescuer. “Come!”

Elizabeth strolled limply after, her feet tripping over every bump. David hauled her along more quickly than she could keep up. He halted at the entrance of the cabin's door.

"Well, lovely, it looks like you won't go to squander after all. Relish your time; you won't be having much leisure in the morning." He smirked. Certainly, David was bitter that he had to give her up to his commander. "I'll have my way with you one way or another." He ran his tongue over his lips, the crooked, horrible teeth of his smile showing a nightmare look. Nudging her through the cabin's commander chamber opening, he took one definitive grope at her bottom. She staggered ahead into the cabin of her saviour.

Elizabeth took in her surroundings. The small chamber surely did have two beds. In the chamber she was standing in, there was a small table with manuscripts scattered about. In the far end corner, there was the clothing of armour and enormous weaponry—a blade, a dagger, a knife, and a shield.

"I ask forgiveness for the attitude of my men tonight, Milady. You must comprehend that it has been a while since they were in the presence of a pretty she-wolf like you." The voice stunned her. She hadn't seen anyone in the cabin with her. Upon examining the room closer, she saw the mystery man stepping from the shadow of the door wall behind her. Had he been scrutinising her this entire time? She did not respond. Rather, she glanced away from this man and glared at the table.

"Do I know you from somewhere, my lord?" Elizabeth asked as she watched him intensely. Noticing his postures. His face has been hidden clearly with a beard, but his eyes were so familiar that she could almost guess it was Alpha Henry.

"Yes, milady. Be quiet and be still. Never mention anything of you knowing me before." The man whispered, stepped back a little, and added in a loud voice, "They can be relatively savage. I wish that you were not injured." Again, she did not answer back. The man walked over to her slowly and strutted in front of her, so she had to stare at him. Turning her head up, she stared promptly into his eyes. They were a dark blue, a colour that she had seen before in a man's eyes. She was amazed by the look on their faces. They appeared soft and curious as they surveyed her. His hand reached for her arm, and she winced at his touch. He took a blade out of its sheath and put it on his belt. At this, she attempted to step back, but nonetheless, he held her tightly and restrained her from moving.

"Relax, I won't hurt you, Elizabeth." The blade made its way to the rope binding her wrists. The cold metal felt severe as he slid it under the ropes and pulled up, losing her wrists. "Feel better now, Elizabeth?" he inquired. Her hands examined the red ring that the rope left on her wrists. She responded. "Yes, how did you know my name?"

"I always know you, Milady," he winked. "I can see we won't be having much to talk about." He trudged back to stare at her, and she as well took the time to survey this man. He stood tall, at what she would reckon was over six feet. His face was lined with a powerful, structured jaw. Just a whiff of grey copper stubble washed across it, which she thought was weird. Most men she had ever encountered wore full beards, particularly men of status. His lips were firm, carved, and had an alluring scarlet hue, and they framed his cunning smile perfectly. A handful of freckles sloped along his cheekbones as the sunlight hit them. His brown hair shone in the light of the fire with a copper tinge to match his little facial strand. It was nudged back behind his ears, coming approximately to his chin in length, where it swivelled into sluggish waves.

Stating that he was relatively rugged and incredibly stunning. The powerful line of his neck went down into an athletic broad chest. Even with his tunic and leather coat, she could faintly deduce the contours of his chest underneath. His powerful and muscular arms stretched and folded across his chest. They were intimidating and connected to sturdy, wide shoulders. By far, he was one of the most alluring men she had ever laid eyes on, yet his eyes were misted with knowing looks. This man held a secret and a cloak. She knew. She may be her adversary or her saviour.

"With a she-wolf of your beauty, one does not have much need to communicate; sometimes it is better to convey yourself physically." His words brought her back to her recent fact, and with them, he took a step towards her, and his fingers made their way to the pink ribbon on the front of her corselette. Moving deftly and deliberately, they started to unfasten the corselette near her bosom. The anger in her boiled over, and before she could stop herself, Elizabeth raised her left hand and hit the man hard against his cheek.

"How dare you touch me in such a way!?" She shouted, backing away from him and clenching her dress to her chest. He whirled his face slowly back towards her, a rosy smudge forming where the sting of her slap made contact. He was amazed at the strength that was behind her hand and caressed his cheek approvingly. With the adrenaline, she had not known his strong fingers clenching the wrist of the hand that hit him. He swivelled her arm up and back before he spoke. "You made an error in hitting me, milady." He talked calmly. There was almost a smile playing across his lips. His voice made her frightened, but she did not let this man see her quiver.

"I am a she-wolf, and you shall behave towards me as such," Elizabeth answered in a powerful and courageous voice. Unexpectedly, he lifted her up and roughly shoved her against a wall inside the chamber. The wood made an overwhelming contact against her back, and the wind came out of her. He thrust his strong, lean body into her supple one and began to recite in a hoarse murmur, his mouth against her ear.

"Well, I am the commander, and you should behave towards me as such." Elizabeth's eyes widened, and colour came twirling to her cheeks. He proceeded, "My sweet, I believe you are wrong. You are no longer a she-wolf. You are a hostage, my hostage." As one hand held her against the back of her head, jerking in her fiery curls, the other hand trailed up her thigh, slowly raising the petticoat of her dress.

"Do you understand your situation? I could take you right here, right now, and not one soul would attend your beg of help. No one would come running at your cries." His knee hitched up to hold her petticoat, where he yanked it. The freehand now nuzzled the bare skin of her shapely thigh. "With a figure like yours, there is no stopping the abundance of entertainment a man could have. But worry no more; I shall protect you, but stay quiet and remember, help is on the way."

Her breath became panicked as the anxiety she had been holding back crept into her eyes and body. He glanced to meet her eyes and surveyed them for a long minute. The blue colour had become glossed over with the sheen of tears. Anxiety? Difficulty? He could not be sure. It made him feel a way he had not felt before when caressing a woman—uncomfortable and awry. He backed up, releasing Elizabeth. She slumped against the wall for a minute before standing up straight, her breath coming out in short, ragged surges. She glanced at the man, evaluating him the way the victim would evaluate its vulture, striving to estimate his next play.

"Where are my father and sister?"

"That I don't know, milady."

"You order them how..."

"Pssst. Don't question me. I'll know where they are soon. But for now. You shall act. Act as you hated me for a reason. You will know eventually who I was later. This magical cloak has limitations. Is that understood!? He whispered.

"Who are you?" begged Elizabeth.

"I can't tell you, milady, the enchantment of Lamia's blood could be gone if you'd know who I was”

“What do you mean? A Lamia? How?”

Alpha Hnery sighed, thanking Lamia for giving him the power to hide his wolf. It was a day after Jenna awakened him and she told him about the power of Lamia’s blood. They talked about it and agreed that he would go further to the Feral camp and Jenna to Edmond’s cabin. “It's a long story. No one shall know who truly I am, and even if you guess it right, don't bother pronouncing it. Am I clear?”

She nodded her head.

“But I do love how you swallowed my seed, sweetheart, and how you made me moan with your mouth." He winked, as if telling her who he was, still whispering into her ear.

She blushed.

"Tell me, my lady, are you willing to be my Luna?" he demanded. Hesitantly, she opened her lips, and it was the first time he noticed truly how incredible they were. Her upper lip, an excellent cupid's bow, parted from the full bottom lip, and the dark pink colour was accentuated by the glint of the oil lamp.

"Yes," Elizabeth responded.

"Very good," he mused as he poured himself a goblet of spirits and sat. He poured another goblet and gave it to her. She glanced at his hand, reaching out with the goblet. "Please take it. You must be thirsty and cold after spending time in the cells; it will heat up your spirits." Timidly, her fingers wrapped around the goblet. "Well, I am afraid that it was against the Wetland policy to return you to the Whiteland. You are Jefferson's daughter, and we are in the midst of fighting your pack. It just won't be possible," he said in a loud voice, then added a whisper, "yet." As if knowing that someone was listening to their conversation.
