Chapter 125
Chapter 125
"Why did you suddenly show up?" Ophelia asked.
Debra, dressed as the hotel manager, took off her uniform jacket, revealing the clothes underneath.
She smiled. "When I know you are in danger, of course, I have to get here right away. So, what are you planning to do with this woman?"
Debra kicked the service cart with her foot. Cressida was awake now.
She stared wide-eyed, looking at the two people in front of her in terror. "What are you going to do?"
Ophelia glanced at her coldly and didn't say anything to Cressida.
She just said to Debra, "This woman drugged Mr. Schmidt. I have to get the antidote."
Debra had always hated scheming women like this.
She immediately crouched down and slapped Cressida across the face. "Tell me, what did you do?"
Cressida was stunned by the slap. "If you treat me like this, when I get out, I'll make you regret it."
Debra snorted coldly and slapped her again. "Say one more word, and I'll end your life right now."
After Debra spoke, Cressida completely quieted down.
Debra looked at the silent Ophelia and asked, "So what are you planning to do now?"
Ophelia replied, "Find the man who's been secretly in contact with Cressida, and make him hand over the antidote."
"I'll help you."
Ophelia nodded, walked aside, and called Zander.
Zander answered quickly. "Ophelia, what's wrong?"
"Dad, where is he right now?" Ophelia asked.
Zander paused slightly. He instinctively sensed something but didn't dare ask. "At home. What's this about..."
"I got information that Dad's body may have already been poisoned. We need to get a doctor to check him right away."
"What?" Zander was shocked and immediately stood up from his office desk.
But soon, the phone on his office desk rang.
He quickly answered it.
"Mr. Zander Schmidt, Mr. Finnegan Schmidt has had a sudden heart attack. He's been admitted to the hospital now. Please come over quickly."
The voice on the phone also reached Ophelia's ears.
Zander's expression was very serious. "Ophelia, how did you know about this?"
"Cressida."
Although she only replied with a name, Zander quickly realized the truth of the whole situation.
"Damn it, I should have gotten rid of her early on and saved us all this trouble!"
"That's not all. I noticed that Cressida has another accomplice, probably a man. You need to be careful."
"Got it."
Ophelia hung up and left Cressida with Debra.
She immediately headed to the hospital following the address Zander had given her.
When she arrived at the hospital, Zander was waiting outside the operating room.
Ophelia asked, "How's the situation now?"
Zander frowned and shook his head. "It's not looking great. We still need to observe for a while. But Cressida is in your hands now?"
Ophelia nodded. "In a safe place, being watched by my friend. What are you planning to do?"
Zander thought for a moment and replied, "Lure that man out."
Ophelia frowned. "Actually, I've always been curious about how this woman Cressida appeared in the first place?"
"Back then, Dad missed you so much that his health broke down. Later, I couldn't stand watching it anymore, so I found someone who looked very similar to you to keep Dad company. Only then did Dad's health improve. I already told her back then not to get any extra ideas. I never thought she'd be so bold."
A flash of doubt quickly crossed Ophelia's mind, and she asked, "You're saying Dad's health was already bad back then? So who told you to find someone to keep Dad company?"
Zander suddenly froze. "You mean..."
"I suspect that all of this was deliberately set up from the beginning, waiting for you to walk into his trap."
Zander's expression became extremely unpleasant. He immediately called the Schmidt family's lawyer to consult about related matters.
Then he asked Ophelia to bring Blake over. He needed Blake's help now.
Speaking of Blake, Ophelia felt a bit guilty.
After all, until now, Blake still didn't know she was still in Silver Bay.
Earlier, before going to the hotel, Debra had already settled Isla and Mia.
Ophelia walked aside, preparing to call Blake.
But she heard a familiar voice behind her.
"Thinking of calling me now, isn't it a bit late?"
Ophelia was about to turn around when she suddenly felt warmth on her forehead.
She fell into a warm embrace.
"Ophelia, I'm sorry. I came late."
Ophelia's eyes filled with tears. She shook her head. "It's okay. Come quickly, Zander has something to discuss with you."
Zander was standing nearby, looking somewhat at a loss.
He coughed awkwardly twice. "Mr. Weston, I do have something I'd like to discuss with you."
Blake raised an eyebrow slightly. "Just say it here."
Zander hesitated for a moment but still nodded in agreement, telling Blake what Ophelia had just told him.
At the same time, he listed several very suspicious people.
"Actually, besides these people, there's one more person."
Ophelia looked at Zander. "Who?"
Zander looked at Ophelia seriously and pressed his lips together. "Actually, you know this person too. It's our uncle, Cameron Schmidt."
Ophelia stood frozen.
The person Zander mentioned thatOphelia had some impression of him, but not very deep. She asked doubtfully, "In my memory, isn't this person quite timid?"
Blake smiled and rubbed Ophelia's head. "You're too naive. Sometimes, people change."
When Ophelia realized that Cameron might have been pretending all along, a cold sweat broke out down her back..
"This..." Just as she was about to speak, suddenly Zander winked at her.
Ophelia immediately understood and closed her mouth.
"Zander, and my little niece, you finally came."
Hearing this voice, Ophelia's heart jumped.
She turned around and, sure enough, it was Cameron.
"Mr. Weston, I've heard so much about you. At the last banquet, I only saw you from afar and didn't get to talk to you. It was quite regrettable."
Blake gave a fake smile.
He reached out and shook hands with Cameron.
Cameron added, "Actually, our Schmidt family has always wanted to cooperate with you. I wonder if..."
"Mr. Cameron Schmidt, it seems that now is not a good time to talk about such things." Blake's voice cut toward Cameron.
He just smiled awkwardly. "Yes, Mr. Weston is right. How is my brother's condition now?"
Zander suppressed the discomfort in his heart. "Thank you for your concern. My father is undergoing surgery. It should be almost done now..."
As he was speaking, the doctor had already come out of the ward. "Mr. Zander Schmidt."
Zander quickly walked up to the doctor. "Please go ahead."
