Chapter 201 Father's Friend

Chapter 201 Father's Friend

Olivia looked outside and quickly spotted Cameron's car parked across the street. She was annoyed. "So what? If you're busy, go do your thing."

She had to hand it to him - how did he even manage to see where she was?

Cameron chuckled softly. "I just happened to be in the area meeting a client. Just finished."

"I saw you were about to go into the dessert shop, but then you went to the coffee shop instead. I thought you weren't drinking coffee these days."

Olivia pursed her lips. "Who says a coffee shop only serves coffee?"

Cameron kept talking to Olivia while getting out of his car. "You probably haven't eaten yet."

Just then, Olivia saw Daphne get out of the car, deliberately disguised with sunglasses and a silk scarf wrapped around her.

Cameron also noticed Daphne. "Why are you meeting Mrs. Harper?"

"That's my private business. Please don't interfere too much." Olivia hung up the phone as she waved to Daphne, who pushed open the door and walked into the coffee shop.

Daphne looked around with clear distaste.

"Didn't we agree to meet at the dessert shop next door? Why come here?"

"The environment is better here." Olivia took a sip of water. "Besides, isn't it all the same? Or did you arrange something for me next door?"

Olivia's eyes held a mocking glint. "Don't think I don't know about the Lakeside Hills incident."

Daphne's face twitched, but she quickly recovered. "I came to talk to you about Justin, and of course, about what concerns you most."

She raised her hand, signaling the waiter to come take their order.

"Let's eat and talk."

So Olivia ordered Set A, while Daphne ordered a black coffee and Set B.

The food was brought out quickly.

Olivia didn't have much appetite - she'd already had chicken soup before leaving home.

"Go ahead."

"Opportunities like this don't come often. I hope you'll treasure this one."

Daphne naturally knew that this time she really did plan to reveal something to Olivia, while also testing how much Olivia knew about what their parents had left behind.

"Yes, the house we're living in now really was your dad's, but the will has long been missing. No one can say for sure."

"If you can find that will, we'd of course be willing to return everything that belongs to your siblings."

From the moment Daphne opened her mouth, Olivia didn't believe her.

Saying they'd return everything to the siblings - that was even more impossible.

She didn't think Daphne could be that generous.

"Return everything to us? You'd be willing to do that?"

"Olivia, don't say it like that."

"The question is whether you can find that will or not. If you can't find it, all this is just empty talk."

"As for whether Justin was involved in harming Jennifer, the police station already has a conclusion. They've confirmed that Justin definitely wasn't in the area when it happened."

Olivia didn't know about this yet and was surprised Daphne would tell her voluntarily.

Of course, more than anything, she felt relieved.

As long as her brother was okay, everything else could be dealt with.

"And then?"

"A few days ago, your dad's friend came back and asked about the will. That's when we found out, and we thought maybe your parents told you two about it." Daphne put on her most sincere voice.

Olivia wasn't sure what Daphne was trying to do.

"What friend?"

"A friend your dad met in college." Daphne handed over a business card. "If you don't believe me, feel free to check."

Olivia didn't refuse. She took the business card.

Daphne continued, "Actually, I've thought a lot about this. Rather than you sisters fighting back and forth like this, which is pointless and only hurts feelings, why can't we all get along as one family?"

"Besides, the Hayes family can certainly afford to raise two children, don't you think?"

Olivia knew that someone like Jennifer, who had no morals or values, her mother couldn't be much better. Now it was confirmed.

Otherwise, how could Daphne say such things?

She sneered. "Jennifer would never agree to this."

"What about you? Are you willing?" Daphne asked back. "If you're willing, I have ways to make Jennifer agree, too."

Daphne sounded absolutely sure of herself, as if before coming, she'd already convinced Jennifer and was just waiting for Olivia to nod in agreement.

Unfortunately, Olivia could never accept such a thing.

When Daphne didn't get an answer from Olivia, she wasn't in a hurry. She leisurely finished her meal. "Alright, you can pay for this meal. I'm leaving first."

"Of course, I'll be waiting for your good news."

Olivia watched Daphne get in her car and leave, then dialed the number on the business card, very directly stating her identity.

When the other party learned of Olivia's identity, he was very excited.

"So you're William Harper's daughter? My goodness, I thought it would be a while before I could meet you and your brother. I didn't expect you to call me first."

"Mr. Daron Turner, can we meet?"

"Of course!"

Olivia sent him her current address, then had the staff clear the table. She ordered a bottle of water.

After a while, Cameron pushed open the door and walked in.

Olivia knew it was Cameron, but she didn't even look up.

Cameron sat down. "What did you two just talk about?"

"And who are you waiting for now?"

"This is the first time I've discovered you have so much free time." Olivia was getting irritated and losing her patience. "Anyway, it's none of your business. Please leave."

Cameron didn't think there was anything wrong with his attitude. Was there something wrong with his concern?

He took the menu to order. "I haven't eaten yet."

Olivia shot Cameron an annoyed look. "Then go sit at the next booth."

Cameron actually listened and really did move to the next booth.

Olivia had no way to deal with him, so she just let Cameron be.

While waiting, Cameron took the initiative to explain how he knew about Charlotte's pregnancy. "It's simple. I had someone follow her and discovered many interesting things about her."

Learning that Cameron had someone following Charlotte, Olivia was very surprised.

"What are you trying to do?"

"I'm not sure how much Charlotte likes Justin, but I can be certain that the York family is not simple." Cameron took out a manila envelope and handed it over. "Look at this first, then we'll talk."

Originally, he'd planned to go find Olivia tonight to show her this information, and use it as an excuse to stay over.

But now that he'd seen Olivia, he couldn't walk away.

Olivia took it. After looking through the information, she was stunned for a while. "Is all this true?"

"Do you think I need to lie to you?" Cameron knew Olivia wouldn't believe it easily. "When you get back later, you can test Charlotte and see how much she knows."

Olivia returned the manila envelope to Cameron, as if it were radioactive.

"If you turn this over to the police..."

"It would definitely deal a significant blow to the York family." Cameron understood what Olivia was thinking. "But now's not the time. We need more solid evidence."
