Chapter 24
Emily had been pleading with Wayne for a long time, but the answer she finally got still left her disappointed.
In the end, Wayne ran out of patience and simply called security to "escort" Emily out.
As the security guard walked Emily out with his hands on her arms, he was still muttering to himself. "Nowadays, anyone dares to come here talking about cooperation. A Ms. Johnson came this morning, and another Ms. Johnson came this afternoon. What a coincidence."
Hearing his mumbling, Emily suddenly snapped out of her dejected state.
"Did you just say a Ms. Johnson came this morning?" She grabbed the security guard's arm tightly, as if grasping at a lifeline.
The security guard was startled by Emily's action and quickly shook off her hand. "Don't grab and pull at me. It wouldn't look good if outsiders saw this."
The security guard spoke seriously, and even stepped back to create some distance from Emily.
But Emily couldn't care less about that. Her eyes pleading, she asked, "You said a Ms. Johnson came this morning. Is that true?"
Seeing how persistent she was about this, the security guard hesitated but didn't hide it, nodding slightly. "A Ms. Johnson did come this morning to discuss cooperation with Mr. Cooper. When you came this afternoon, I thought you were also here to discuss cooperation, but I didn't expect you to be here to pester Mr. Cooper."
With that, the security guard let out a long sigh.
"I know you care a lot about the two children getting into the school, but since Mr. Cooper has refused, he must have his reasons. You should find another preschool for the two children." He was actually quite kind, offering Emily this suggestion.
However, Emily stubbornly wanted to see the morning's visitor list.
The security guard naturally refused outright.
Seeing his righteous and stern expression, Emily's eyes rolled, and she said, "I won't look at the visitor list anymore, but when I went in just now, I didn't register on the visitor list. I'm afraid that doesn't follow your rules either."
This comment hit the mark.
The security guard hesitated slightly, then took out the registration book and handed it to her, slapping a pen on the table with a dark expression. "Just register quickly and leave. Don't waste any more time here."
Seeing he had lost his patience, Emily didn't say anything more and picked up the pen to write her name in the registration book.
At that moment, she also saw that the person who came in the morning was none other than Sophia.
Seeing that she had signed her name but was still holding the pen, the security guard waved his hand.
"Just leave quickly. Don't waste any more time here." The security guard urged her to leave for the second time, and Emily had no chance to stay any longer.
After leaving, she didn't hesitate at all. She got on her bike and headed straight to the Johnson Villa.
At that moment, at the Johnson Villa, Sophia was acting cute with Harper and telling her in detail about what she had done today.
"Aren't you afraid she'll come after you for this?" Harper's first reaction after hearing this was that it didn't bode well.
But Sophia didn't care. With a grape in her mouth, she spoke unclearly. "I didn't do anything wrong. I just brought an investment to Happy World Preschool. Even if she comes after me, what can she say?"
Seeing her smug expression, Harper suppressed the unease in her heart and nodded.
"As long as you didn't leave any evidence against yourself."
While the mother and daughter were talking, Emily pushed the door open and barged in.
Seeing Emily suddenly appear there, both mother and daughter were stunned, their faces showing disbelief.
"How did you get in!" Sophia looked at her, her voice sharp.
"Why did security let you in? You're no longer a resident here!" Her face was full of dissatisfaction as she reached for her phone to call property management.
Emily stepped forward and snatched the phone from her hand.
Seeing her aggressive manner, Harper instinctively took a step back, creating some distance from Sophia.
Before Sophia could say anything else, Emily raised her hand and slapped her across the face.
Sophia's face turned to the side from the slap, and a red mark immediately appeared on her face.
"Sophia!" Harper cried out, rushing forward to cover her reddened face. "Are you okay?"
She looked at Sophia with concern, and after confirming she was alright, she raised her hand to slap Emily.
But Emily wasn't one to just stand there and take a beating. She dodged backward, causing Harper's hand to miss completely.
"What exactly do you want by coming here today?" Harper shielded Sophia behind her, looking at Emily with eyes full of vigilance.
"I'm asking you, was the Happy World Preschool thing your doing?" Emily looked at the mother and daughter before her with icy eyes, her voice as cold as ice.
"So what if it was?" Sophia raised her face, her eyes full of smugness.
"Even if you run here now and make a scene, what good will it do? Those two little bastards of yours are destined to never attend school normally like other children."
Sophia's curse clearly crossed Emily's bottom line.
Without any hesitation, she stepped forward, pushed Harper aside, pressed Sophia down on the sofa behind her, and slapped her repeatedly from both sides, the sound of slaps continuous.
Harper hadn't expected Emily to suddenly go crazy and rushed forward to pull her off.
But how could a pampered rich wife be a match for Emily?
Emily seemed to casually pull, and Harper fell down, sitting on the floor.
Sophia didn't take it lying down either. She reached out and grabbed Emily's hair, pulling down hard.
Her feet didn't stop either, trying to kick Emily off.
Perhaps because the anger in her heart was burning too fiercely, Emily showed no signs of being at a disadvantage even when fighting two against one.
"What are you doing?"
The moment the door of the Johnson Villa opened, the little tune Brian had been humming stopped. He looked at the chaotic scene before him with complete shock, unable to speak for a moment.
He saw Harper crying and pulling at Emily, who was sitting on top of Sophia and hitting her, while Sophia looked completely disheveled, her clothes half torn open, her hair in complete disarray.
Emily's clothes were also wrinkled, and her hairstyle was slightly messy.
After hearing the voice from the doorway, everyone instinctively stopped what they were doing.
"Dad, save me!" Sophia immediately called to him for help, her voice filled with barely concealed anger and fear.
"Brian, save Sophia quickly. Emily's gone crazy!" Harper rushed to Brian's side as if grasping at a lifeline, clutching his arm tightly.
