Chapter 174

Chapter 174

William's words touched Emily's heart. She looked down at Nina beside her, chattering away and full of curiosity about the world, and her eyes softened.

She wasn't worried about Oscar—after all, he was mature enough.

But Nina was different. She was more innocent.

The children would eventually need to integrate into groups and interact with peers their own age.

With this in mind, she pondered for a moment before looking up at William and nodding gently.

"Alright, let's do as you say. Find a reliable kindergarten and let them adjust for a few days."

A flash of delight crossed William's eyes. Just as he was about to speak, Raymond had already beaten him to it, picking up the landline on the table.

"Leave this to me! They can go to the same kindergarten as Aiden. I'll personally make the call to ensure the teachers are attentive, the food is good, and it's safe."

Raymond moved quickly, his fingers rapidly dialing a string of numbers, his tone filled with unquestionable certainty.

The call was answered quickly. He gave a few brief instructions to the person on the other end, and within moments, he had arranged the children's enrollment. Even the entrance physical examination and bedding preparation were all taken care of by the kindergarten.

Standing nearby, Emily couldn't help but smile at Raymond's efficiency.

With Raymond being so attentive, she felt much more at ease.

Soon, the driver was waiting downstairs, and William picked up his suit jacket, preparing to head to the company.

"Let me see you off."

Emily spoke up, walking downstairs with William.

On the way, a gentle breeze blew past. William stopped, reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind Emily's ear, and asked in a tender voice.

"What are your plans for today? If no one's home, remember to lock the door, or have Rodolfo come over to look after you. Don't stay alone—I won't feel at ease."

Emily's heart warmed, and she nodded.

"Don't worry, I understand."

William looked at her and reached into his suit pocket, pulling out a gold-embossed business card and placing it in Emily's hand.

"This is an international specialist I contacted for Amelia, in Switzerland. They have the best neural rehabilitation team. As long as Amelia is willing, we can send her there for treatment anytime. The chances of recovery are very high."

Emily held the thin card, but her fingertips felt like they were carrying a thousand pounds. Her eyes instantly reddened.

Amelia's condition had always been her deepest concern.

But William, without her knowing, had quietly arranged all of this for her behind the scenes.

"Thank you, William."

Her voice trembled slightly. "I need to go home first and ask my mom's opinion about this. If she agrees, we'll do it right away."

William nodded, his eyes full of tender affection.

"Alright, whatever you say."

Emily lowered her eyes, her heart suddenly shrouded by another shadow, her tone becoming heavier.

"I just don't know if Brian has been caught yet. Just thinking about him still being out there makes me anxious."

At the mention of Brian, a cold glint flashed in William's eyes. His tone was calm but filled with certainty.

"Don't worry, he can't escape. The Johnson Group has already been put up for auction by the court."

Emily's head snapped up, her face full of shock.

"Auction?"

William nodded slightly and explained simply.

"Brian is suspected of kidnapping and illegal detention, plus he fled to avoid punishment. It's been almost a month now. The Johnson Group is in complete chaos with no one in charge. Sixty percent of Brian's shares have been frozen by the court. Today is the day of the public auction."

Emily's heart tightened.

The Johnson Group was something Amelia had built from scratch with her own efforts, only to be later schemed away by Brian.

But even so, The Johnson Group remained one of Amelia's lifelong concerns.

She couldn't let The Johnson Group fall into outsiders' hands, and she didn't want to see Amelia's life's work go to waste.

With this thought, Emily looked up at William, her eyes determined.

"I want to buy The Johnson Group at auction. It belongs to my mom, and I must get it back for her."

William looked at her stubborn yet serious expression, the corners of his lips curving into an indulgent smile.

It was as if he had expected Emily to say this all along.

"I've already prepared everything for you."

Without another word, William pulled out a black card from his wallet and pressed it firmly into Emily's hand.

"Bid whatever amount you want—it doesn't matter. As long as you're happy, as long as it can resolve Amelia's burden."

The black card gleamed with understated luxury in the sunlight, representing unlimited backing and favoritism.

Emily gripped the card tightly, her heart filled with warmth, her eyes reddening again.

In her most painful times before, she had never imagined that one day someone would support her so unreservedly and smooth out all the storms for her.

"William..."

Before she could finish, William gently pulled her into his embrace.

He lowered his head and planted a tender, cherished kiss on Emily's forehead, his breath warm.

"Silly girl, you don't need to thank me. Your matters are mine. I'll arrange everything with Amelia. As for The Johnson Group, I'll back you up. You just need to do what you want to do."

The sunlight was perfect, the breeze gentle. The two stood embraced, the moment peaceful and sweet.

Behind a floor-to-ceiling window not far away, Raymond took in the entire scene.

He stroked his chin, smiling meaningfully.

"At this rate, it won't be long before they can be together without any worries."

Raymond chuckled, his eyes gleaming.

Downstairs, Emily and William lingered for a moment before reluctantly parting.

"I'm heading to the company now. Call me anytime if anything comes up. Don't try to handle things alone—I'll always be your support."

William ruffled Emily's hair and turned to get into the car.

Hearing his words, Emily nodded with a smile in her eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll definitely bother you if anything comes up."

She laughed softly, the smile on her face lingering.

William smiled back at her.

Finally, the car slowly pulled away from the Brown Mansion. Emily stood in place, watching the car disappear at the intersection, clutching the black card tightly in her hand, her heart filled with peace.
