Chapter 299 Low Quality
Chapter 299 Low Quality
Gloria was brewing her emotions, preparing to make a move on Harrison. She had just gotten into character when a skinny girl holding a doll came up, pointed at her, and called her shameless.
Gloria's anger flared up instantly.
She came from a well-off family and was good-looking. From school until now, she'd always been pursued by men. A high-quality woman like her had never been called shameless to her face by a little girl.
Her expression turned cold, and the tears on her face disappeared in an instant. If it weren't for maintaining her good image in front of Harrison, she would have already slapped Lily across the face.
But Harrison was here, and she couldn't show her trashy side in front of him.
So she forced down her anger and spoke to Lily with an unpleasant tone, "Child, we don't even know each other. How can you just come up and curse at me?"
"Cursing at people is wrong. How did your parents raise you? You have no manners at all."
Harrison, sitting across from Gloria, frowned slightly when he heard Gloria say Lily had no manners.
Gloria was his classmate. Back in school, he and Gloria had a decent relationship, which was the main reason he chose to meet Gloria today.
But that didn't mean Gloria could point at Lily and say she had no manners.
Harrison, who was extremely protective of Lily, couldn't accept this.
He was about to pull Lily into his arms and tell Gloria that this was his precious daughter, whom no one was allowed to bully.
But unexpectedly, Lily, who had spent time with Mia and Connor, had already gained the courage to fight back.
She lifted her little face and went straight at Gloria.
"Gloria, you're so blatantly trying to seduce my dad, and you're saying you don't deserve to be scolded? Today you ran into me, but if you'd run into Mia and Connor, they probably would have scolded you so badly you couldn't lift your head."
"And you say I have no manners? I don't think so. For a woman like you who wants to be my dad's mistress, my manners are already high enough."
"I think you should examine your own manners. If you had any class, you wouldn't be actively trying to become my dad's mistress."
Lily threw these words right at Gloria.
From what she said, Gloria caught the key point - Lily was actually Harrison's daughter?
If that was the case, she couldn't use the same tone with Lily anymore. She needed to show Harrison that she could be a good wife and mother. She needed to let Harrison know that she was the most suitable woman for him.
Gloria stopped arguing with Lily. Instead, she turned her gaze to Harrison.
She looked at Harrison with questioning eyes and asked, "Harrison, is this girl really your daughter?"
Harrison looked at little Lily with appreciation, his eyes full of admiration for her.
Before, because of Lily's poor health and weak personality, Harrison had worried endlessly about her, always concerned that she would be bullied at school, when going out, or after getting married.
But now it seemed that wasn't the case at all. His daughter did have some fight in her after all.
After spending so much time with Mia and Connor, Harrison no longer needed to worry about Lily being bullied by others.
Harrison contentedly pulled Lily into his arms and lovingly stroked her little head.
He said to Gloria, "Yes, she's my daughter, my biological daughter. Her name is Lily."
"Gloria, I'm sorry, she's still too young and doesn't understand things. Please don't take what she said to heart."
Gloria was already offended. In her view, Lily had come out and rudely cursed at her. If Harrison still cared about her at all, shouldn't he be pulling Lily's ear and properly educating her right now?
But looking at Harrison, he had no intention of educating Lily. Instead, he had pulled Lily into his arms and was doting on her completely.
If she dared to make an issue of this with Lily now, Harrison probably wouldn't even give her another chance to meet, would he?
After weighing the pros and cons, Gloria had to swallow her anger. How dare Lily curse at her like that? Once she broke up Harrison's marriage, she'd have plenty of time to deal with Lily.
With this thought, Gloria forced out a smile and said generously to Harrison, "How could I be offended? She's just a child after all. I'm not going to stoop to her level."
"Harrison, I haven't had dinner yet, and I'm a bit hungry. How about we go to that little restaurant we used to go to in high school?"
Gloria extended an invitation to Harrison.
She wanted to use memories from their school days to awaken Harrison's feelings for her.
Hearing Gloria's invitation, Lily immediately had her own ideas.
Mia had watched many TV shows and told Lily that when a woman invites a man to dinner, it's the start of a date.
In Lily's view, even if Harrison was going to date, it should be with Elena, right? Dating Gloria was definitely not appropriate.
She came here today to disrupt Harrison and Gloria's meeting and stop Gloria's attempts to seduce Harrison.
So she had to prevent Gloria's dinner invitation to Harrison.
As soon as Gloria finished speaking, Lily turned and hugged Harrison's neck.
She acted cute and said to Harrison, "Daddy, I'm tired. I want to go home."
Hearing this, Gloria immediately understood Lily's intentions. She cursed Lily's fakeness in her heart, but couldn't show it in front of Harrison.
She quickly said, "Harrison, since Lily is tired, take her home. I see Simon is waiting for you outside in the car, right? Have Simon take Lily home first."
"I rarely come back to Pinewood City. You wouldn't refuse to even have one meal with me, would you?"
"If our high school classmates found out you wouldn't even have dinner with me, they'd probably all say you're heartless."
Gloria used moral blackmail to put Harrison in a position where he couldn't refuse.
Harrison had quite a bit of status in their circle of classmates, and the Frost family business sometimes needed help from these classmates. If he couldn't even spare time to have dinner with an old classmate, those former classmates would inevitably have opinions about him.
But he was holding Lily in his arms.
And he wasn't comfortable having Simon take Lily home.
