Chapter 13

"Noah told Joanna about the pregnancy and his plan which Joanna turned down. But after a month, Joanna accepted the plan and Noah told McCarthy about it. McCarty like Joanna said no, but he later said yes because he knew how much love Noah had for Joanna. They opened an antenatal file for Joanna, and she pretended to be pregnant.

Ariana was surprised and happy when she started laboring for the second baby, but the happiness wasn't for long because the second baby was stillborn.

Two days later, Joanna went into labor and gave birth to my husband, Casper Hart"

My mouth was unconsciously wide opened from disbelief to surprise, and I found it hard to close it.

"So, you mean that Jason has a twin?" I asked when I could finally speak "Yes" she replied and handed me another photo of Jason. At least, that was what I thought at first "That is Casper, Casper Hart. He is Jason’s twin brother, and he is the one behind everything that is happening in your house right now."

I started connecting the dots in my mind. "Do you know Lexi's Ryan?" I asked.

"Yes," she replied. "She is Casper's best friend. They grew up together."

"So, how is Jason's life now in danger?" I asked.

"I will soon get to that. As I was saying, Joanna went into labor and gave birth to Casper two days later and left the country two weeks after that.

The deal between her, Noah, and McCarty was to never get in contact again and they never did.

Casper unlike Jason didn't have a golden childhood, since the country Joanna settled in treated nurses poorly.

Casper's didn't know about the Stokes or Jason until the day you two got married. And even when he saw Jason, he was like they just looked alike and all of us had laughed about it. Joanna was on the hospital bed during that time, she was counting her last days The next day after your wedding, Joanna sent for Casper and she told him the truth.

Casper was mad, extremely mad on that day. He was jealous of Jason. He was mad because he was the unlucky one and that was how everything started. The plan was to separate you two, then get rid of Jason and take over the Stokes enterprise."

"He wants to kill my husband?" I asked slowly, almost inaudibly.

"I'm sorry, but yes, and that is why I'm here. I love Casper, but he is blinded by rage. Jason is his brother, and it wasn't his fault. Joanna and her friends are the one to be blame for everything.

I don't know if what I'm doing is right but...I don't know"

"Thank you for telling me this" I said with tears in my eyes. I should have believed Jason. I should have known that he was telling the truth. Jason don't lie "I'm not through" Carmella said and brought me back to the reality "The plan started with Jada. Casper put in everything he had to get her a new job which pays her double her salary and planted Daniella Huggins in her position."

"Daniella Huggins!?" I said, shocked.

"Yes, Daniella Huggins," she nodded. "She is working for Casper as his spy. He needs to know what is going on in the company and in Jason's life. What happened between Jason and your friend never happened, it was a setup."

"Poor Cynthia," I murmured.

"My husband is not a bad person. He is just very mad right now and he doesn't know what he's doing. I'm so sorry for the pains that we've caused both of you. Thanks for letting me in. I will be on my way now" she said and started packing her papers.

After packing the papers inside the file and putting the file inside her handbag, she picked up her bag and started heading out of the room "Wait" I said before she could press the door handle and I got out of my seat.

I walked to where she was standing and hugged her tightly. Her body tensed up before she relaxed and hugged me back.

"Thank you for telling me this" I said "Thank you"

"You are welcome"

Her phone rang out and we released each other. She took out her phone and checked the caller. "I have to leave now"

"Okay but before you go, can I have one of his pictures and your house address?"

She thought about it for some seconds before handing me one of his pictures and a paper with her address on it "Okay thank you" I said "You are welcome"

I opened the door for her and slowly closed it. I sat down behind the door and hugged myself as I started crying Jason Stokes:

For the whole thirty minutes that I've been inside the restaurant, I've been waiting for Carl's message and when none came, I put my hand inside my pocket to bring out my phone, but it turned out to be empty. I hurriedly dropped my spoon and checked my second pocket which also turned out to be empty "Fuck" I swore and got out of my seat. I looked around, but my phone was nowhere.

I left the restaurant angrily and started heading back to my room "Jason" someone called and the hair at the back of my neck stood at alert upon hearing that voice. Lexi. I thought. I raised up my head and saw Lexi smiling at me broadly. She was in her night gown and barefoot "I believe you!" She shouted and the hallway echoed her words "I believe you!" She repeated and started running toward me.

I stretched out my hands and waited for her even though I have no idea what was going on. She threw herself at me, wrapped her legs around my waist and crashed her mouth on mine without giving a fuck about the people that were staring at us.

I pushed my tongue inside her mouth and started kissing her back, I've really missed her.

"Is that not Jason Stokes?" I heard people whispering After almost a minute, she stopped kissing me, unwrapped her legs and looked in my face, "I'm so sorry for not believing you husband," she whispered.

"It's okay," I said and smiled at her.

"I didn't know that you were going to be here. I just stepped out of my room and I saw you. I'm sorry for not believing in you. I love you husband. No more divorce."

I sighed heavily when I heard this and smiled at her. I didn't know what have changed her mind overnight because the last time I saw her, she was packing out of our house "Let's go inside my room" she said. I knew that was an understatement because of how her brown eyes were twinkling. I fucking love this woman. I thought She took her hand in mine and I raised up my head to see people taking our pictures.
