"Jason" I called "We need to talk"

"Give me five minutes"

"Like we need to talk now!"

He dropped the file he was going through and looked straight into my eyes "Babe, what is wrong?" He asked worriedly "Mama is dead"

"Mama? Mama? I don't get it"

"Mama, my sister's dog. The one I told you about"

"Oh! I'm sorry"

"That's not the problem"

"What's the problem babe?"

"He was stabbed and a message was written on him. It was the exact statement the lady I told you about said to me"

"You mean the lady at the club?"

"Exactly. She told me she isn't going to be nice with me the next time we meet and that was what was written on Mama"

He got out of his seat and came to where I was standing "Nothing will happen to you as long as you are with me and don't worry about her, I'm going to find her and bring her to you myself"

Jason tripled the security guards that same day and the CCTV cameras the next day.

On Thursday morning, when I was sure that I could go back to work, I told Jason about it "I'm not sure if you should come back to work, at least, not now" he said reluctantly "House is boring without you"

"You can watch 'Jessica' while I'm away"

"But I really want to go"

"Okay, but no hard work or walking up and down the corridor"

"Alright boss"

We left in his car but I was surprised when six other cars followed us, three at our front and three at our back "What's going on?" I asked "Anything for you" he replied We got to the office and I've hardly sat down when Stephanie came into my office "Hey! Lexi!" She said and hugged me "Hey Stephanie"

"I was too busy to say hi to you on Monday, I'm sorry"

"It's okay"

She released me from her hug and started checking me out "You look great" she complimented "Thanks and you aren't looking bad yourself"

"Should I be expecting you at lunch?" She asked "No thank you"

We chatted for few more minutes before she went back to her office ~*~

We just finished having a very slow sex on Saturday morning when someone called Jason "WHAT!?" He shouted "I'm checking it out right now"

He got out of bed and put on his boxer as fast as possible "Babe, what is going on?" I asked him

"I don't know yet, I need to check it out"

"Check what out?"

"The news"

"Who called you now?"

"Mom"

"What's going on?"

"I don't know"

I ran after him and shakingly sat on the couch when I saw the headline SOFIA SCOTT AND NICOLE JONATHAN ACCUSED OF SECOND DEGREE MURDER OF DOROTEA JAVIER

Dorotea Javier, according to what I heard on the news Friday morning when her dead body was found inside her room, was a twenty-six-year-old nurse who recently started dating an international musician.

"Fuck!" Jason who was still standing in front of the television swore "Who would have thought that Sofia was the one behind this murder" I said unbelievably but got no reply from Jason who was focusing all his attention on the screen "Oh my God!" I shouted when Sofia and Nicole picture showed on the screen "What is it?"

"There she is" I said while pointing at the screen "Who?"

"The girl I told you about. The girl at the club. Oh my God! This could have been me" I cried "I rebuke it in Jesus name" he said and came to sit next to me on the couch

"It's could have been me"

"I told you nothing will happen to you as long as I'm alive"

"But she killed Mama. It was me she wanted"

"I'm here to protect you"

I called my sister when I was calmed enough and told her what just happened before calling Cynthia to tell her the same thing. And Jason was on the phone throughout the day because of the news ~*~

On Sunday morning, Jason wanted to take me to his special restaurant to celebrate our freedom when someone rang the bell "Are you expecting someone?" I asked him "No"

He checked the visitors, opened the door and his dad and mom stepped in. His dad went passed him without saying a word and sat down on the same couch he sat on about a week ago followed by his mom "We are on our way out" Jason said to his dad "Jason" his mom warned "It's the truth mom"

"Spare me thirty minutes of your time before you leave" his dad finally said "This...this better be good" Jason murmured and reluctantly came to sit next to me "Sofia..." His dad trailed off "The billionaire murderess you wanted me to marry" Jason said sarcastically "Jason" his mom warned again "Mom, is it true? That girl could have been my Lexi. I've always told you guys that Sofia is an animal in human skin but you guys will never listen. Sofia this Sofia that"

"I know" his dad said "Everything was for you. I just wanted the best for you"

"The best for me is sitting right here with my baby in her womb"

"I know. Sofia action came as a shock to everybody, even her parents"

"The only thing shocking about her is that her Hitman was the same person who threatened my girl at a club some months back and even killed her sister's dog a week ago"

"Oh my God!" His mom said shockingly while covering her mouth "She did that?"

"At the time, we didn't know it was her and it was the reason why I tightened my security. I wouldn't let anything happen to her"

"I know you deserves to be this angry, with me and your mom. And you too Lexi, I've never treated you right since I met you but I'm ready to accept you as my daughter if you can give me a second chance"

"Stop acting all nice and cool, I know what you're doing, you're doing this for your business, for your reputation" Jason said to his father's angrily "Jason" his mom warned again"

"Mom! You know exactly what he is trying to do, he is trying to save his reputation, to save his company by using Lexi since some of his business partners knows about I and Sofia relationship"

"That isn't true at all" his dad said slowly "I've been having a change of mind about who Lexi is since she never cashed out those checks"

"And you expect me to believe..."

"I'm ready to give you a second chance" I cut off Jason and said "What are you saying?" Jason whispered to me angrily as if he couldn't believe what I just said "he treated you like trash" he said out loud "I think everybody deserves a second chance" I replied "A second chance? He is trying to save his name and his company" he whispered "It's your name and your company too" I replied "I'm really happy that you thinks better than Jason" his dad complimented with a smile which looked strange since I've never seen one on his face before
