"Yes... he's not as much of an idiot as I thought," she returned the smile. "Sit down, you must be tired."

"Yes, I am, but tired of sitting," Madeleine complained. "How could you endure so many hours sitting on a plane, and with a layover?"

"We came on his private jet... so we came directly," she shrugged. Madeleine looked surprised but didn't find it odd. "And Joshua? Didn't he come with you?"

"Yes, but he had to meet with the big boss. By the way, Katia..."

At that moment, all the secretaries from the Seattle Delegation began to enter, greeting Katia and happy to see her again, but still puzzled by her presence there.

They all sat down and started discussing the latest news from the summer. They were aware that they were being watched by the Munich employees, but they didn't mind.

Madeleine glanced at her friend from time to time because she wanted to ask her something but didn't know how and didn't want to do it in front of all her colleagues.

A group of men approached the group of women and started talking to them. Meanwhile, Katia and Madeleime took the opportunity to get up and leave, but not before paying for the coke that the young brunette had drunk.

They then walked towards the elevator and the brunette woman noticed that her friend was limping a little on her right foot, so she opted to ask her:

"What happened to you?"

"Huh? Ah! I twisted my ankle the same day I arrived in Germany with Stefan."

"What? Did you just call him by his name?," she asked in surprise.

"Yes. Ever since he took me out of my house and took me to Alki and started screaming..." she nodded, looking at her friend. "How do you hear? He took me to the beach so I could scream and let off steam... Since then, I like him a little better."

"I'm hallucinating..." said Madeleine entering the elevator. "When she arrived they were like cats and dogs. And because he helped you get over your son, you like him a little better?" she said astonished.

"He hasn't just done that, Madeleine. Since I've been here, he's been looking out for me and... although sometimes it makes me want to slit his throat, Stefan has shown me that he's not like I first thought... although sometimes I still think so."

"Katia... please! That man just wants to take you to bed," she exclaimed, not caring that the elevator was full of people.

"Do you really think so?" She played dumb.

She couldn't tell him that she had had sex with him twice and every night, she wanted to have an exchange of bodily fluids again.

"Of course I believe it. He's just a womanizer...who's hot...but he's still a womanizer who wants to take any woman with him. I'm sure he's been sleeping with women while you've been at his place. Because I'm guessing you've been sleeping under the same roof... right?"

"Yes, but in separate rooms, don't worry," Katia told her. "I don't care what he does. We are adults and everyone can do what they want."

"In theory you are married," reminded the brunette woman.

"Yes, but we have nothing in common, just a piece of paper. Besides, in January we will get divorced and I will finally marry Oscar," she looked towards the steel doors.

"You miss him, don't you?" She said with a hint of sadness.

"Very much, but I must be strong. I know he'll come back and we'll be happy...."

"But…"

"I'm afraid she won't recover completely... Even so, I'm sure she will and... maybe next year I'll rethink about having more children," she said looking at her friend, but something told Madeleine that Katia was sad about something.

"Although on second thought .... The big boss is not bad at all... blessed luck you have, dammit! I'm sure you've seen him shirtless several times... at least if they've been swimming in the pool," she commented looking sideways at her friend. Katia shook her head, while laughing lightly. "To tell you the truth, if I were in your place, I wouldn't let him escape."

"He is in love with his ex-girlfriend, but that... slut married someone else," she clicked her teeth when she remembered her, but ended up sighing.

"Hey, Katia. You... are in love with the boss, aren't you?" she asked, surprising the blue-eyed, brown-haired girl.
