CHAPTER 26. NATE
It had been weeks since we came back from France and now grandpa wanted to visit the office and find out how things were. He wanted to visit the factory too but he would need days to do that, so he had decided to visit the office and let every head of the factory department explain to him everything that was taking place. Even with him coming to visit for one day it ment that everyone had a lot of work on their side and ensuring everything was perfect.
He hated dirt, unorganised desk of office, he checked everything when he walked past it and ensured it was up to standard. It was too much work having him around and thus everytime he came I ensured I let everyone know in advance and gave them instructions to come a little early to clear their desks and clean every corner of the office.
The office was in a frenzy, everyone moving from right to left ensuring everything was perfect. I was in my office going over the last part of my own documents before grandpa arrives. Somehow I was feeling irritated that he just had to come in and disrupted everything just by being around for a few hours.
“Sir!“ A voice jolts me from my thoughts. I look up to find Mitchel standing infront of me. She is in a trouser suit today and looking all kinds of beautiful. It in light blue and black heels and she is looking hot and very appealing. I run my eyes from her face down her body to her feet and back again to her face. She is looking at me and seems to be fighting with herself against something.
“Yes Mitchel.“ I say finally peeling my eyes from her and getting back to pretending to read
“I knocked but I didn't hear you so I came in.“ She explains. “Sir, no offence buy you look like shit and that's from someone who is around you almost twenty four hours.“
I like how she has become blunt with me the past couple of days and doesn't hold anything back. I run my eyes through my appearance and I really don't blame her. My tie isn't tied it's just hunging around my neck, my shirt is not tucked in on one side and my trouser isn't straight and judging by the amount of times I have run my hands through my hair, I can only imagine how it looks.
“Thank you Mitchel, atleast I know I can trust you to tell me the truth.“ I say, running my hand through my hair again.
“Come here sir.“ Mitchel calls placing the things on her hand on my desk. She has her hand extended in my direction and her gaze on me. It's blank like she is looking at something she isn't interested in one bit but her words sound final.
I find myself pushing back my seat and getting up to walk to her. 'When did I become this kind of person who does what she says to me without a second thought.' I asked myself. With the way I was feeling, the stress of grandpa coming to the company, the need to please him and make everything perfect and not to mention the things that I have been up to with Mitchel and her boyfriend, I didn't have the energy to go against her at all.
I walked to her and let her guide me however she wanted. She stopped infront of a mirror and pulled me closer to her, not too close for contact but close enough for her to be able to reach my tie.
“Is it as bad as everyone is making it look?“ Mitchel asks. I know what she is talking about but then again sometimes I just want to hear her say I out loud.
“My appearance? Never heard anyone say anything bad about it.“ I joke.
The stare she pins me with makes me squirm.
She continues to tie my tie and doesn't spare me with another of her stare.
“Yeah, he is very strict with everything he does amd wants everything around him perfect.“ I explain. “If anything isn't how he wants it to be, it will be totally over for the one responsible of the misunderstanding.“
She finishes tieing it and adjust it. She straightens my coat and trouser and bents down to get the edges straight.
“Then we make it as perfect as he wants it to be.“ She replies. She straightens and motions for me to lower my head. I do and she starts to straighten out my hair styling it just like she wants it to be. “So don't run you hand through your hair again or fidget with your suit.“ She warns.
My face is lower and closer to hers than I have been for the past few months she has been working here. She is still as beautiful as ever this close. The beauty mark that made me love looking at her still adorned her beautiful face. She was looking at my hair and moving it all over the place trying to get it to place. The frown on her forehead deepened the more she moved my hair around trying to style it. I found my hand rising to rub the frown away from her face.
Her face is smooth and warm as my finger grazes over her frown. She moves away slightly from my hand and I hate to loose that short connection with her.
“Your all done sir.“ She says straightening and moving away from me. My reflection on the mirror is perfect from before and I look much better. I work with my nerves waiting anxiously to receive my grandfather. But no matter how much pep talk I give myself I am never ready to receive him in any way. Mitchel gives me a few of the documents I might need explaining to me a couple of things but I am not paying attention to what she is saying.
