Chapter 68 Divorce, Fly Away
After a moment, the sound of pages turning came from Daniel's end, followed by his casual voice.
"Scarlett, if you're having regrets, move back to Regal Estate now and apologize to me properly. I'll pretend I never signed that divorce agreement. No need to call again with this nonsense."
Hearing him say this, Scarlett felt relieved.
It seemed it wasn't Daniel's doing. She let out a soft breath and spoke.
"I won't have regrets. Mr. Wilson is overthinking. I'll raise the thirty million dollars as soon as possible. I won't bother you anymore."
After saying that, she hung up directly.
At the Star Group CEO's office.
Daniel tossed his phone on the desk and tugged at his tie.
Scarlett said she would raise thirty million dollars soon - her determination to divorce him was truly firm.
But she was really spoiled by him. Did she actually think thirty million dollars was some small amount?
Daniel didn't believe Scarlett could come up with that thirty million dollars in a short time.
Let her struggle. Either way, this divorce wasn't going to happen in the end.
Thinking this, Daniel's expression softened slightly. He picked up his phone and called Ray.
"What did you find out?"
Ray was in an abandoned factory. Not far behind him, a tearful woman was tied to a chair.
It was Nola.
"As you suspected, Nola was indeed used as a pawn. She said a middle-aged man dining at a restaurant told her Mrs. Wilson's home address, and also said Mrs. Wilson often entertained various wealthy men there.
She was jealous that Mrs. Wilson got Jake's attention, so she ran to Jake and said those things. But when we pulled the restaurant surveillance, that day's footage was broken. We haven't tracked down that middle-aged man yet."
"Dig him out!" Daniel's eyes grew cold as he ordered in a deep voice.
At the teahouse.
Scarlett ended the call and was about to return to the private room when she looked up and saw Bruce walking over with a smartly dressed woman.
Scarlett had seen this woman before - she was Juliet, the agent who had given her a business card on set.
"Juliet, this is Shadowlight, real name Scarlett Lewis."
Bruce and Juliet came over, directly introducing them.
"I didn't expect you to be Shadowlight. What a pleasant surprise."
Juliet smiled at Scarlett and extended her hand.
Scarlett also reached out to shake it. "Let's go inside and talk."
Bruce raised an eyebrow. "You two know each other?"
Juliet explained, "We met once before. Ms. Lewis was a dance double on set, and I wanted to sign her as a talent.
I didn't expect she was also the composer and choreographer who's been so popular lately. This makes me even more determined not to let such great talent slip away."
With Scarlett's face, figure, and all this talent, she was simply born for the entertainment industry.
Juliet was recommended by Bruce, and Scarlett had a good impression of her from before. They had a pleasant conversation.
When it got close to noon and they still hadn't finished talking, the four of them found a private restaurant for lunch together.
Their collaboration went smoothly. After the meal, they signed a contract.
For eighteen million dollars, Scarlett signed over all her works from recent years to Juliet's management company.
Juliet would handle all the arrangements for these songs and dances going forward, and Scarlett would receive the money soon.
When leaving, Juliet still pulled Scarlett aside reluctantly to persuade her.
"Are you sure you won't consider signing as a talent? If you sign, I'll push the company for an A-level contract, giving you the best treatment and resources. We can write all this into the agreement in advance."
Scarlett smiled and shook her head. "It's not that I don't trust you, Juliet. I just really don't have those plans."
Juliet was still regretful. "But don't you urgently need money? If you sign as a talent, the company can advance you a payment."
Scarlett still shook her head. Juliet left first, and only then did Scarlett thank Bruce.
Bruce crossed his arms, leaning against his car.
"How much more money do you need? I can lend it to you."
Scarlett wasn't close with him, and with such a large amount, she certainly couldn't borrow from him.
But she was still short over ten million dollars. Working odd jobs here and there, she definitely couldn't raise that much.
She didn't stand on ceremony though. "I won't borrow money, but there might be a favor I need to trouble you with."
Bruce raised an eyebrow. "You're my idol. It's my honor to help my idol. Don't talk about it being trouble."
Scarlett got straight to the point. "I saw your company's website is hiring a dance director. I'd like you to introduce me."
Others might not know about this dance director position, but as the leader of the boy band SV, Bruce knew very well - it was specifically for their boy band.
SV was the hottest boy band in recent years.
The company hired a special dance director to create the first album for SV, and the album needed to capitalize on their popularity, so it was launching next month.
The original dance instructor had canceled the contract due to an accident, and the company was urgently looking for someone.
If Scarlett became the dance director, she would be spending time with them day and night. Bruce was naturally looking forward to it.
He immediately snapped his fingers. "I'll arrange it! Should I drive you back?"
Scarlett shook her head. "No need, we drove."
"Stay in touch then."
Bruce made a phone gesture, waved at Sarah behind her, and bent down to get in his car.
After his van left, Sarah came forward and put her arm around Scarlett's shoulder.
"He's so sweet and cute, so well-behaved. Those two waves goodbye almost took my heart with them."
Scarlett raised an eyebrow. "I'll send you his Facebook."
But Sarah immediately waved her hand. "Don't. I'd rather watch you flirt with lots of men, lots and lots of flirting, and make Daniel furious."
Scarlett was speechless.
Scarlett planned to take on a few commercials, and her previous collaboration with a gaming company had been very successful.
Zenith Enterprises Group was planning to create a brand new mobile game this year and had already sent Scarlett a collaboration proposal with a very good price.
If things worked out with Zenith Enterprises Group and everything else went smoothly, she should be able to raise close to thirty million dollars.
"Let's go, we're heading to Zenith Enterprises Group."
Scarlett ignored Sarah's wild ideas and pulled her to the car.
Right now, Scarlett just wanted to make money quickly, get divorced, and fly far away!
When they arrived at Zenith Enterprises Group and gave their names, the receptionist smiled and said,
"Please follow me. We'll go directly to the motion capture room. Everything's ready. Ms. Lewis can try the dance moves right away."
Scarlett thanked her and followed, not noticing Alice and Laura stepping out of the elevator behind them.
Alice looked at Scarlett and Sarah's backs and frowned.
"Why is she here too?"
"I'll go find out." Laura quickly followed.
Five minutes later, Laura came back and whispered to Alice.
"It's for a major mobile game Zenith Enterprises Group is creating. They invited Scarlett to be the dance performer. She's in the motion capture room trying out the dance right now."
Hearing about the major mobile game, jealousy flashed in Alice's eyes.
The game Alice was endorsing was just a small game. How could she tolerate Scarlett getting ahead of her again?
She had to steal this opportunity.
Just then, several elite-looking men surrounded a tall figure walking over.
Daniel had a restrained temperament but a powerful presence, causing the surroundings to fall quiet.
Alice's eyes shifted, and she happily walked over.
"Daniel, I was just about to go to the photo studio for a shoot. Would you like to come watch?"
Daniel nodded. "Let's go."
Alice's eyes curved with a smile. She walked beside Daniel, chatting from time to time.
In the eyes of those accompanying them, their relationship couldn't look more intimate.
Alice was shooting, but Daniel wasn't present. He just made an appearance at the studio before leaving with his people.
But Alice had achieved her desired effect. During a break in the shoot, Alice called over Dane Torres, the director of the game development department, and Laura brought him coffee.
"Mr. Torres, we heard that the major mobile game is looking for a motion capture dancer?
Our Alice has dance training too. Could you give this opportunity to Alice?
We're all on the same team. Mr. Wilson would surely be happy about it."
