Chapter 85 Splashing Water on Daniel's Face in Public
Alice felt that Daniel's glance was as cold as if he were looking at an enemy.
She was shocked, her face turned pale, and she stumbled back two steps in fear.
Daniel gave a look, and two bodyguards immediately came forward and grabbed Alice from both sides.
Tears rolled down Alice's face—tears of both grievance and fear.
She didn't want to be slapped. If Scarlett slapped her five times today for no clear reason, what would happen to her dignity?
"Daniel, I didn't, I really didn't. You can't indulge Scarlett like this."
Alice cried miserably. Seeing that Daniel ignored her, she turned to look at Alton.
"Alton, this is your event, you organized this gathering. Are you going to ignore me too?"
Alton's expression wasn't good either. He thought Scarlett was being too unreasonable.
Scarlett had no evidence at all, yet she came here to make a scene, and Daniel was actually indulging her and even wanted to hit Alice.
Alton stepped forward. "Daniel, you..."
Daniel's cold gaze swept over Alton. "None of your business."
Alton frowned, and Sarah let out a snort of laughter.
Alton was already angry with nowhere to vent, and hearing her blatant mockery, he glared at her.
Sarah rolled her eyes and mouthed silently: "Idiot."
Alton saw clearly what she was saying and wanted nothing more than to strangle Sarah right then and there.
"Scarlett, you rest. I'll do it for you, so your hand won't hurt."
Sarah rolled up her sleeves, but Scarlett held Sarah back.
Scarlett looked at Daniel with a somber gaze and said stubbornly.
"What if I just want her to drink this bottle of water?"
If she herself were the one suffering, she could accept anything.
But today, she just wanted to seek justice for the baby in her belly.
Daniel's brow furrowed so deeply it almost rose up. He said slowly, "I said, impossible!"
A heavy disappointment surged in Scarlett's heart. She suddenly smiled with a touch of sadness, nodded, let go of Sarah and said.
"Sarah, go ahead."
Sarah looked at the smile on Scarlett's face but felt like Scarlett was crying.
Sarah walked toward Alice and swung her hand down in a slap.
Alice immediately turned her head and spat out a mouthful of blood, with a bloody tooth in it!
Alice opened her mouth but couldn't say a word from the pain. She cried in a mess, completely breaking down.
"Fuck! Are you some kind of superhuman? That's enough!"
Alton had always treated Alice like a sister from a family friend. Seeing Sarah hit so hard, he grabbed Sarah's hand.
Sarah looked at him. "Let go, or I'll hit you too!"
"You dare!" Alton sneered.
Sarah scoffed. "She's Daniel's person. If he doesn't feel bad for her, why does Mr. Bridges care so much? Do you like Daniel's woman?"
"Say one more word of nonsense!" Alton gritted his teeth.
Sarah was too lazy to argue with him and swept her knee across.
Alton had seen her fight scenes on set—smooth and fluid, truly impressive. He was on guard and dodged backward.
Sarah broke free and slapped Alice four more times.
After being hit, Alice was barely breathing, hanging on the bodyguard's body.
Alton's face darkened, and Sarah returned to Scarlett's side.
"Satisfied?" Daniel looked down at Scarlett, his expression cold.
Scarlett said nothing. She walked to the bar table, took an empty glass, and poured the water from the bottle she brought into the glass.
Then she turned around and suddenly threw the glass of water at Daniel's stunningly handsome face.
"Her account is settled. This is yours!"
This was what she was returning to Daniel on behalf of the baby in her belly.
"Daniel!"
"Scarlett, are you crazy?"
Chris and Alton both spoke up and stepped forward, followed by a long silence.
Only the sound of water droplets dripping from Daniel's deep eyes, down his straight nose, falling onto his sharp jawline, and then dropping to the floor.
Daniel, who was always dignified, composed, and superior, had never been in such a mess.
Not only did Chris and Alton not dare to look, even Sarah was stunned in place.
A thick aura of violence seemed to gather around Daniel. Scarlett turned and started walking away.
But she hadn't taken two steps when Daniel caught up from behind. Scarlett felt the world spinning.
Her feet left the ground as Daniel lifted her directly, threw her over his shoulder with her head hanging down. Blood rushed to her head rapidly, and Scarlett struggled, punching and kicking.
"Daniel, what are you doing! Put me down!"
Daniel ignored her completely, gave Scarlett's bottom a heavy smack, and carried her straight into the elevator.
"Scarlett!"
Sarah snapped out of it and tried to chase after them, but was blocked by Alton. Sarah was furious.
"A good dog doesn't block the way!"
Alton sneered. "Sarah, just now Daniel was covering for you. Now they're both gone, let's settle our accounts properly."
"I have no accounts to settle with you!"
Sarah walked straight out. Alton raised his hand and gripped her shoulder. "The matter on set, and today's scene-crashing—we have quite a few accounts to settle."
Chris leaned against the bar table, leisurely pouring himself a drink, as if the mess on the table had nothing to do with him. He sipped his wine with elegant charm, watching the drama unfold.
"Little beauty, what's the real story between you and Alton? Tell us."
Chris was quite interested in Alton's embarrassing stories.
"Sarah, don't you dare say it!"
Alton took action directly, wrapping his arm around Sarah and covering her mouth.
But the sensation on his arm felt wrong. Alton looked down and realized he had grabbed Sarah's chest.
The feel—super soft.
He also thought back to what happened on set before.
Sarah had a tough temper, so how come she was soft everywhere.
While Alton was lost in thought, Sarah was burning with rage and punched him directly in the chest. Alton groaned in pain and stepped back, releasing Sarah.
Sarah cursed loudly. "Pervert! Where are you putting your hands? I was just looking at my phone and didn't see where you were lying down, so I sat on your face with my butt. It's such a small thing and I already apologized. Do you have to be so petty? Your mind is smaller than a needle. Are you even a man!"
Chris was shocked by Sarah's phrase "sat on your face with my butt" and spat out the wine in his mouth.
Alton's face darkened completely. He was Alton, whom no one in Shadow City dared to provoke.
Was his face something anyone could just sit on?
Moreover, did Sarah just sit once?
She even wiggled a few times. She almost bent his nose!
"You shut up! Going around talking about this kind of thing—are you even a woman!"
"What do you mean 'this kind of thing'? I'm completely innocent. Stop filling your head with garbage and ruining my reputation!"
"You think I'm interested in you? Even if there was only one woman left in Shadow City, I still wouldn't be interested in you."
"Even if you were the last man on earth, I'd rather find a dog than be interested in you!"
Alton got so angry he took action directly, and Sarah fought back with him blow for blow.
Bar tables and chairs were knocked over, and everything shattered.
Chris retreated to a safe area and laughed. "Alton, this isn't really a big deal. Consider it a romantic encounter. Stop complaining after getting a good deal."
"What good deal did I get! Is she even a woman? She reeked of sweat and almost suffocated me. I threw up everything I'd eaten the day before."
Sarah remembered how Alton pushed her away and actually ran to the flower bed to vomit, making her feel very embarrassed. She truly hated Alton for it.
"That's because you're useless! You only look like a man on the outside, but inside you're more delicate than a woman! Petty, calculating, blind and heartless, completely lacking in grace. Without that face, what kind of leading man could you play? You should go play a ghost in your true colors!"
"Sarah!"
