Chapter 241 Are You Threatening Me?
Chapter 242 Let Me See Who Dares Touch Me and My Daughter
Aurelia leaned on her cane and took two steps forward. She picked up the phone on the table and made a call.
"Hello, this is Aurelia Blake. I'm at your restaurant," she said loudly, making sure everyone could hear. "Someone's bullying me. Are you going to handle it?"
Less than two minutes later, the restaurant manager came running over.
"Miss Blake, what can I do for you?"
Aurelia held up the card in her hand and waved it in front of him. "Do you recognize this card?"
The manager glanced at it and his face changed right away.
It was Ethan's personal card. All the top people at Gray Corporation knew it.
"This is Mr. Gray's card," Aurelia said proudly. "I want you to make them apologize to me."
The manager looked at the card, then at Anna. Sweat appeared on his forehead. "Miss Blake, this..."
"What 'this'?" Aurelia raised her eyebrows. "You don't even know Mr. Gray's card? Should I call him right now and have him tell you himself?"
"No, no need." The manager waved his hands fast and turned to Anna, looking uneasy. "Ma'am, how about... you just have your daughter say sorry? It's one sentence. Let's all step back and not make this bigger."
Anna looked at him. "You didn't even ask what happened, and you're telling us to apologize?"
The manager was stuck.
"I..."
"You only see her holding Mr. Gray's card, so no matter who's right or wrong, you want us to apologize, right?" Anna's voice was quiet, but every word felt cold.
The manager's face turned red then pale. He couldn't say anything.
People nearby started whispering.
"Yeah, that's not fair. Not even asking before making someone apologize."
"Whose card is that woman holding? Mr. Gray's? How did she get it?"
"What's her deal with Ethan?"
Aurelia heard the talk and looked even more pleased.
"What are you waiting for?" she said to the waiters behind the manager. "Hold them down and make her bow and apologize!"
The waiters looked at each other and didn't move.
"Do it!" Aurelia yelled. "Or do you want Mr. Gray to fire all of you?"
Two waiters had no choice. They walked toward Anna.
"Ma'am, sorry about this..."
They reached for her arm.
Anna pulled Hopie behind her, grabbed a bottle of red wine from the table, and smashed it on the floor.
The bottle broke. Wine splashed everywhere.
Everyone froze.
The two waiters stopped.
Anna held the broken bottle neck and stood in front of Hopie. "I dare anyone to touch me or my daughter."
Her voice was low, but every word was ice.
Hopie hid behind her mom, face pale, but she bit her lip and didn't cry.
Anna looked at everyone, then at the manager.
"You're sucking up to her and forgetting basic rules? Is this how Ethan told you to treat customers?"
The manager's face went white.
A normal customer wouldn't call Ethan by his first name or talk like that.
He got nervous and stepped aside to call Ethan's assistant.
"Jake, something's wrong..."
Aurelia saw him on the phone and got mad. "Are you going to do something or not? If not, I'll call Mr. Gray myself!"
She started dialing.
The girl next to her leaned in. "Aurelia, do you really have Mr. Gray's number?"
"Of course," Aurelia said, chin up. "Mr. Gray came to the hospital to see me. He's been really nice to me."
"Wow, you're something."
They talked loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear.
Hopie tugged Anna's sleeve. "Mom, is the Mr. Gray she's talking about Dad?"
Anna didn't answer.
She looked at the card in Aurelia's hand.
It was Ethan's. She knew it.
There was a small scratch in the bottom right corner from when Hopie scratched it with a key once.
How did Ethan's card end up with this girl?
She didn't have time to think.
Aurelia's call didn't go through.
Ethan was in a meeting with his phone on silent.
Aurelia tried twice and got no answer. She looked embarrassed.
"Mr. Gray's busy," she said, putting her phone away and glaring at the manager. "Tell your people to move."
The manager had just hung up with Jake and was shaking.
Jake had only said one thing: "That's Anna Rivers, Mr. Gray's wife. Everyone's job here isn't worth one word from her. Handle it."
He rushed to Anna, bent down, voice shaking. "Miss Rivers, I'm sorry. I was blind. Please don't hold it against me."
Everyone was shocked.
Especially Aurelia and the girl with her.
"What Miss Rivers?" Aurelia's face changed. "Who is she?"
The manager ignored her and kept bowing to Anna. "Miss Rivers, we messed up today. Your meal is free. I'll get you the best private room right away."
"No need," Anna cut in. "Deal with this first."
She pointed at Aurelia.
"She tried to have the waiters hold me down and make my daughter apologize. You saw that, right?"
Sweat ran down the manager's face. "I saw."
"So what are you going to do?"
The manager swallowed and turned to Aurelia. "Miss Blake, please leave with your friend."
Aurelia's face changed. "What? Do you know who I am? Do you know who gave me this card?"
"It doesn't matter who gave it," Anna said from behind her. "Now get out."
Aurelia spun around and stared at Anna.
"Who do you think you are to kick me out?"
"Who I am doesn't matter," Anna said. "What matters is the rules here aren't set by you."
A few waiters walked up to Aurelia and her friend and gestured for them to go.
The other students looked at each other. Some started packing up.
Aurelia stood there, face red with shame and anger.
"I'm not leaving. I'm waiting for Mr. Gray to answer."
She called Ethan again.
This time Jake answered.
"Miss Blake."
"Jake! Come to the restaurant quick, someone's bullying me!" Aurelia sounded like she was crying. "They're kicking me out!"
Jake said: "Miss Blake, just wait there. I'm on my way."
Aurelia hung up and gave Anna a smug look. "Heard that? Jake's coming. We'll see who's in trouble."
Fifteen minutes later, Jake walked in.
He looked around, went straight to Anna, and bowed a little. "Miss Rivers, are you okay?"
