Chapter 95 Live Broadcast Exposure! The Child's Father is James
# The Rental Apartment
Maria had gotten used to living in the villa during this time. Coming back to this shabby studio apartment, everything irritated her.
Thinking about how Gloria had described her as a bug in the sewer made her grind her teeth in hatred.
Why did Gloria get all the good things in this world?
Back then, she had a producer willing to pay eighty million dollars to keep her. Now she'd latched onto a big shot like James, and was even fooling around with Caspian.
Why! Why on earth!
It was so frustrating.
Hannah's message came through: [James is making a big move today. He's going to clarify that you and he were just a misunderstanding. He's going to announce Gloria's identity.]
Maria swept everything off the vanity table.
Her expression changed dramatically. She clenched her fists, grinding her teeth in hatred.
James and Gloria had played her and were getting back together? How could things work out so perfectly for them?
Gloria, if I can't have him, neither will you.
Let's go to hell together!
Gloria raised her hand and roughly wiped her tears with her sleeve, exactly the same way she used to cry as a child.
Her eyes, clean and clear, stared at James as she pulled her emotions out of that painful moment.
The corners of her mouth lifted slightly: "It's nothing. It's all in the past."
She grabbed her coat and turned to leave. James followed.
"Gloria, let me take you home."
"No need."
James helped her put on her coat and tied a bow at her waist, as meticulous and considerate as always.
Gloria put her hands in her pockets, looking at him coolly.
"My car is here. Life is full of goodbyes. The mountains are high and the roads are long. Until we meet again, if ever."
Everything she needed to say and do, she had already done at the dinner.
"Gloria."
Joseph held an umbrella and opened the door for her. Gloria walked into the wind and snow.
Under the streetlight, her shadow stretched long, lonely and desolate.
James's voice murmured softly: "Gloria, how could I possibly let you go?"
The sadness in his eyes was gradually replaced by obsession.
"We made vows once—to share the same blanket in life and be buried together in death. Gloria, unless I die, I will never let go."
James watched Gloria get in the car. The moment the door closed, he saw there was someone else in the car.
The man's hand rested casually on the armrest, a black bracelet slowly sliding down from his wrist.
It was Caspian. He'd come to pick her up himself!
James's expression gradually turned cold. "John, proceed with the original plan."
John stared at James's resolute back. "Mr. Williams, doing this might make Mrs. Williams hate you."
James closed his eyes, his lashes trembling slightly. "If there's no love, then let her hate me. At least I'll occupy a place in her heart."
"Alright, I understand."
John bowed and left. A moment later, he looked back at James with an urgent expression. "Mr. Williams, something's happened!"
There was some weariness in James's eyes. "What is it?"
"Check your phone quickly. Maria started a livestream exposing everything about you two!"
"What!"
Less than five minutes into the broadcast, Maria's livestream already had hundreds of thousands of viewers, and the number was increasing by tens of thousands per second.
The comments were flooding in:
[Maria, what kind of man is Mr. Williams in private?]
[So jealous that Maria has been loved by Mr. Williams for so many years.]
[Congratulations on your pregnancy, Maria!]
[Blessings.]
[Let me borrow some of Maria's good luck so I can find a husband like Mr. Williams too.]
James's image as a devoted husband over the years was deeply rooted in people's minds. Back then, he didn't want others coveting his wife, so he had protected Gloria very well.
He never expected Maria to exploit this gap!
That bastard, how dare she do this? Did she have a death wish?
On camera, Maria smiled sweetly: "Everyone has so many questions, I don't know which one to answer. From now on, I'll livestream regularly to share my pregnancy journey with everyone."
James nearly crushed his phone. He suddenly looked up at John, his dark pupils full of blood-red fury. He asked through gritted teeth: "John, she didn't abort the child. Don't you think you owe me an explanation?"
John didn't make excuses. He bent his knees and knelt on the ground.
"Your mother threatened me with my sister. If I aborted her child, she would cut off my sister's medication and send her to the mountains to be someone's wife."
James walked toward John step by step. He bent down and grabbed John's collar.
"You're the person I trust most in this world besides Gloria. Why did you betray me?"
John closed his eyes. "I'm sorry, Mr. Williams. My sister is still young. I couldn't just watch something happen to her."
The veins on the back of James's hand bulged, crisscrossing. From excessive force, his knuckles had lost all color.
His smile was both cold and bitter. "John, you worry about your sister, but what about my Gloria?"
Maria had pulled the rug out from under him, presenting her life in the form of a livestream.
She wouldn't give James another chance to hurt her!
Unless James also wanted to expose himself on camera and abort her child in front of everyone.
That cunning Maria had made the worst possible move, yet it was enough to bring her back from the dead.
Once again, she had disrupted all of James's plans.
Gloria had already drawn the line, and he had been trying so hard to win her back.
But now everything was ruined. Gloria would only think he was lying!
Stringing Maria along on one hand while holding onto her on the other.
James's eyes were bloodshot. He was like a wounded lone beast from the darkness, his voice painful and mournful: "How can I get my Gloria back? John, tell me, what should I do?"
Besides apologizing, John had nothing else to say.
"Mr. Williams, I failed in my duties and betrayed you. Kill me or do whatever you want."
"If I kill you, will my Gloria come back?"
James pushed him away. He ran out like a madman.
He had to explain everything clearly to Gloria.
He hadn't lied to her. He really had turned over a new leaf and was going to abort Maria's child and reconcile with her.
Gloria, my Gloria, how can I make you believe me?
James rushed outside. Where was the Maybach?
Only the snowflakes in the sky gently fell around him.
James knelt in the snow, in unbearable pain.
Gloria opened the car door and was startled to see Caspian sitting there.
"Why are you here?"
Caspian must have just come from a dinner party. He carried a faint smell of alcohol.
He was propping his head up with one hand, two buttons of his shirt undone. Compared to his usual restrained nobility, he had an extra touch of rakishness.
His legs slightly apart, he leaned lazily against the backrest.
Even his voice carried a weariness he usually didn't have: "I was passing by and came to check on you. Did he give you a hard time?"
Gloria shook her head. "No. I've made things clear with him. I hope he can move on."
Caspian didn't respond. Gloria was thinking too simply. James wouldn't let go!
Her phone vibrated continuously with incoming messages.
Gloria didn't want to pay attention, but Joseph spoke up: "Maria has exposed everything."
At the mention of that name, Gloria had to open the news and then entered Maria's livestream.
Maria's voice rang clearly in the car: "Yes, I'm pregnant. The baby's father is James."
Gloria's expression froze, and her phone fell.
This was beyond everyone's expectations. Gloria quickly came to her senses. "Sorry."
She bent down to pick it up. The driver happened to turn, and the phone tilted toward Caspian's side.
She had to leave her seat. Just as she was about to reach it, the car turned again.
The momentum made her lose control. She grabbed at something randomly, and her head hit down hard.
When the car stabilized, she realized she was between Caspian's legs. Her hands were gripping his pant legs, and her face had just been buried in Caspian's crotch.
