Chapter 109 So Much Blood in the Water
The weather in Silverlake Springs was absolutely terrible. When passing through the thunder clouds, all the flight attendants prepared for the worst, their hearts in their throats.
It wasn't until they successfully landed at the airport that everyone finally relaxed.
Caspian hurried out of the cockpit, with the flight attendants watching him leave.
This young, wealthy, and handsome man's status alone was impressive enough, but he turned out to be even more capable and composed in person!
The flight attendants looked at him with admiration. What kind of woman would become the wife of such a strong man?
Just after getting off the plane, the black Maybach had been waiting for a while.
Joseph asked, "Mr. Rivers, are we heading straight to the show location now?"
Caspian pressed his hand against his forehead and said yes, looking a bit tired.
He was originally one of the guests. If it weren't for the Rivers family matters, he would have participated in the recording. It made sense for him to come back now.
The closer he got to the Williams Manor, the more uneasy Caspian felt.
The rain was getting heavier. Thunder and lightning filled the sky. Caspian, who had been resting in the back seat, suddenly opened his eyes and looked outside.
Slanting rain hit the glass, leaving streaks. Purple lightning filled the sky outside the window, lighting up the entire sky above Silverlake Springs.
The spinning wheels sped across the road, splashing water everywhere.
Caspian's heartbeat was getting faster. He had been steady since childhood. Even when piloting a plane through clouds, he remained calm and composed. But why was he getting more nervous the closer he got to the Williams Manor?
He took out his phone and dialed Gloria's number, wanting to make sure she was okay.
The moment the phone rang, Gloria happened to be coming downstairs with a golf club.
No one answered the phone.
Caspian gripped his phone tightly and reminded the driver, "Drive faster."
In a few minutes, he would be there.
He thought, 'Gloria, please be okay.'
The black Maybach sped through the streets and alleys, racing forward desperately.
From Crystalbrook to Silverlake Springs, Caspian rushed all the way. When he arrived, he only heard Sophie's panicked cry: "Blood, there's blood in the water!"
Even though he hadn't seen anyone yet, Caspian's instinct told him something had happened to Gloria.
He didn't take an umbrella and ran through the rain.
But he was still one step too late.
He saw James holding Maria in his arms. Mabel was already scared. Gloria had been pushed into the water by her. If Gloria was injured, James wouldn't let her go.
Until this moment, they hadn't connected Gloria to pregnancy, thinking the blood in the water came from external injuries Gloria suffered when the glass door shattered earlier.
James had already sensed something was wrong. "Gloria!"
He was about to drop Maria to the ground, but Maria clung tightly to his neck, refusing to let go. "I'm so dizzy, my stomach hurts too, I..."
Caspian ignored everyone around him. He only had eyes for Gloria.
A flash of lightning and thunder lit up the pale face of the woman in the water.
Caspian took off his coat and shoved it into Joseph's arms. He ran quickly toward the pool, ordering, "Make sure everyone here keeps what happened today secret. Not a single image can get out!"
Joseph followed quickly with an umbrella. "Understood."
As Caspian passed by the cameraman who was still filming, he grabbed the camera. Before the cameraman could react, he smashed it hard on the ground.
"Damn it! My camera!"
Before the cameraman could go crazy, Joseph said coldly, "We'll pay double for all damages."
James finally managed to drop Maria to the ground. Caspian had already jumped into the water and pulled Gloria into his arms.
