Chapter 215

Chapter 215

I didn't turn back, coldly refusing. "There's no need. We have nothing to talk about."

Walking into the living room, both my parents were waiting for me.

Seeing me, they hurriedly asked about my checkup results.

"Dr. Moore said Cindy's health is fine. Even her traumatic arthritis has improved significantly. At this rate, it won't be long before she's fully recovered."

Leopold's voice came from behind.

My parents' expressions instantly brightened.

My mom smiled and said, "That's wonderful. I was worried Cindy's condition would worsen. It's great that she can recover."

My dad nodded in agreement, then added, "Cindy mentioned before that Arnold's team was handling her treatment. Now that Arnold and his team are abroad, her injury..."

"Mr. Wipere, there's no need to worry. Dr. Moore has already agreed to treat Cindy. I've provided him with a list of Cindy's previous medications. I believe he'll develop a new treatment plan in the next couple of days." Leopold explained gently.

I turned to look at him sharply. Christian was famous—countless people waited in line hoping to convince him to take their cases, all without success.

Yet he'd managed to persuade Christian to treat me.

My dad paused, then asked, "Dr. Moore doesn't agree easily. How did you convince him?"

"The Moore family once owed the Percy family a favor, so Dr. Moore agreed." Leopold brushed past the details without elaborating.

My parents and I exchanged glances, all understanding that this favor must have been significant.

My dad smiled. "Leo, this time our family owes you a favor. If you ever need anything, just say the word. As long as it's within our power, we won't refuse."

Leopold suddenly raised his eyes, those deep eyes looking straight at me. "Anything?"

I frowned slightly. He wouldn't use this to propose getting back together, would he?

My dad also read his gaze, his smile fading somewhat. "Anything except going against Cindy's wishes."

Leopold's thin lips curved slightly. "Don't be nervous. I won't force Cindy to do anything she doesn't want to do."

My dad's tense expression eased a bit. "That's good, then."

"However, I do have one small request."

The strings my mom and I had just relaxed tightened again.

My dad remained composed. "Go ahead."

"I'd like Cindy to move to Pansea Heights for the next couple of days."

Leopold's gaze moved away from me to my parents, his tone low and gentle. "Dr. Moore may have updates at any time. Pansea Heights is only ten minutes from Dr. Moore's research center, making it much more convenient."

My parents didn't answer for me, immediately asking my opinion instead.

I didn't believe Leopold's request was that simple.

Leopold saw through my thoughts and said something I couldn't refuse. "This year's Valeria International Ballet Competition has been moved up. I'm guessing Cindy will want to participate. Dr. Moore has already promised me that if she experiences any discomfort, we can get her there immediately."

My heart jolted, and I froze in place.

He'd never paid attention to these things before. How did he guess my thoughts so accurately this time?

Was this his new way of getting revenge on me?

My parents were also shocked by Leopold's words, hardly believing these words came from Leopold's mouth.

Seeing my prolonged silence, my mom even tugged at me. "Cindy, what do you think?"

I looked at Leopold, seeing his serious expression, his gaze silently profound.

After a moment, I finally said, "Alright, I'll stay at his place for a couple of days."

Seeing my agreement, the corners of Leopold's mouth unconsciously curved upward.

We stayed at home until nine in the evening before Leopold, and I returned to Pansea Heights.

Throughout the drive, Leopold was busy handling business matters, without the forcing or awkward small talk I'd anticipated.

I also gradually relaxed from my initial tension.

Before, whenever the two of us were together, I'd always find various topics to liven the atmosphere.

Now, I'd also learned to enjoy the quiet.

Since I couldn't figure out Leopold's thoughts, I might as well see what unspeakable intentions he was hiding.

Arriving at the entrance of Pansea Heights, I immediately spotted Tammy and Ada waiting at the door.

"Mr. Percy, Ms. Wipere, you're back."

After greeting them, I walked in first.

"Rest for a bit. I have a meeting—should be done in about two hours." Before going upstairs, Leopold specifically told me.

I nodded faintly, indicating I understood.

After he went to the study, I turned toward the guest bedroom.

I'd barely taken two steps when Tammy stopped me. "Ms. Wipere, Mr. Percy instructed that you should stay in the master bedroom."

I replied without hesitation, "Then tell him I'll stay in the guest bedroom."

"Ms. Wipere, why don't you take a look at the master bedroom first before deciding?" Tammy's words carried an obvious hint.

She piqued my curiosity. Thinking Leopold would be in his meeting for two more hours, I agreed.

Arriving at the master bedroom, I immediately noticed the layout had changed.

The master bedroom originally connected to an outdoor terrace, used for enjoying the night view and relaxing.

But now the terrace had been converted into a practice room.

To ensure an open, bright view, the practice room was specially fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows. At the same time, considering the strong sunlight, the mirror was deliberately placed on the side facing away from the sun.

This way, the practice room not only had an excellent garden view but also wouldn't be bothered by harsh, glaring light.

Clearly, this renovation was done with care.

"Ms. Wipere, this was personally supervised by Mr. Percy as the workers made adjustments. He said you're a dancer and must have your own practice room at home."

Tammy's words stirred waves in my heart.

I'd once hoped Leopold would custom-design a practice room for me, but that hope was extinguished after his parents' unexpected deaths.

Having barely survived those dark times, I then encountered Sophia's return.

Although I now knew Leopold had no private affair with her, his neglect and indifference back then still left me anxious.

Plus, at the very moment I chose to forgive him, he said it was all just revenge.

And when my heart was breaking, he said he had no choice because he was being blackmailed with an intimate video of Sophia and David.

His emotions were too fickle and unpredictable. I couldn't see through them or distinguish what was real.

"Tammy, I'll still stay in the guest bedroom."

With that, I left the master bedroom.

Unable to persuade me, Tammy had no choice but to let it go for now.

After I finished my shower and came out of the bathroom, I heard a knock on the door.

I walked over and opened it, finding Leopold standing outside.

I wasn't surprised. "What is it?"

Leopold wore a black shirt, his features cold and stern, but there was a hint of uncertainty in his eyes. "I heard from Tammy that you're unwilling to stay in the master bedroom."

"That's right," I admitted it.

"Why? Did I design it in a way that doesn't suit you? Tell me, and I'll definitely change it."

For someone as proud and aloof as him to lower his head to me over such a small matter—I couldn't describe what I felt. "There's no particular reason. I just feel more at ease staying in the guest bedroom."

Leopold said, "If you prefer the guest bedroom, then I can convert the storage room next door into a practice room..."

"Leopold, you don't need to do this." I interrupted him. "I made it very clear before—we can't go back."

Leopold's eyes trembled.
