Chapter 503: Paternity Test
Benjamin and Sophia went to the Lumina Group together to do a physical examination for the children.
Perhaps Sophia was too gentle, which made those kids develop an attachment to her like baby birds.
As soon as they saw Sophia, they all ran over and surrounded her.
"Sophia! We missed you so much!"
Sophia smiled and bent down, ruffling their hair: "Were you all good today?"
The children answered in unison: "Yes!"
"Good kids. Since you've been so well-behaved, I'll give each of you acandy as a reward. ?"
As Sophia spoke, she took out a handful of candy from her bag and gave them out to the children one by one.
"Thank you!"
The children happily took the candy, showing sweet smiles.
Sophia smiled along with them, her eyes filled with indescribable tenderness.
After getting pregnant, she felt more and more maternal, finding children very cute.
Besides, these kids were well-behaved and sensible, which was partly thanks to Emilio.
Emilio was the oldest among these children, and they all listened to him.
He didn't like to smile and always kept a straight face, but he was very gentle with these kids.
Especially when facing Sophia, he would rarely show a smile.
"Sophia."
A familiar voice suddenly came from behind. Sophia turned around and saw Matthew and Adelaide walking over hand in hand.
Sophia's gaze fell on Matthew and Adelaide's clasped hands, her eyes full of surprise.
"Matthew, Adelaide, are you two together now?"
Adelaide's cheeks turned slightly red. She glanced at Matthew and nodded.
Matthew's lips curved slightly as he openly admitted: "Yes, we're together."
Actually, saying "together" wasn't quite accurate. After his persistent efforts, Adelaide finally agreed to try dating him for a while.
After all, Matthew and Adelaide hadn't seen each other for ten years, and Adelaide had even studied abroad. They were no longer who they used to be.
Although they still had feelings for each other, they remained cautious when it came to relationships.
Hearing this, Sophia couldn't help but smile: "Looks like Adelaide will be getting married soon."
The blush on Adelaide's cheeks deepened: "Don't talk nonsense."
Matthew frowned disapprovingly: "Are you thinking of backing out?"
"I'm not!"
"Anyway, us getting married is just a matter of time."
Adelaide glared at him: "How can you be so sure we won't break up in the future?"
"Yes, I'm sure." Matthew tightened his grip on Adelaide's hand.
He had worked so hard to win back his girlfriend; how could he possibly let her leave again?
Sophia looked at them teasingly, showing an "I understand everything" expression.
Benjamin, however, frowned. No matter how you calculated it, Matthew's seniority was higher than his.
Benjamin felt somewhat indignant.
Now Benjamin found Matthew more and more annoying.
He lowered his eyes, his slender fingers gently rubbing the ring on his finger.
He suddenly remembered something very important - shouldn't they have a proper wedding?
When he and Sophia got their marriage certificate, it was too hasty. At that time, he just wanted to protect her and hadn't thought she would become his lifelong love.
But now he and Sophia have even had a child, so it should really be put on the agenda.
Benjamin was thinking about the wedding when Adelaide suddenly exclaimed, interrupting his thoughts.
He looked up and saw Adelaide slowly crouching down in front of Emilio.
"Benjamin, come look at this."
Adelaide excitedly waved at him.
Benjamin raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"
"Come here and look, look carefully."
Benjamin and Sophia exchanged glances and walked over to Emilio together.
"What is it?"
Adelaide pointed at Emilio's face and said seriously, "Don't you think he looks a bit familiar?"
Benjamin glanced over casually, then froze.
Sophia looked at Emilio, then at Benjamin.
Matthew also curiously came over, staring at Benjamin and Emilio's faces.
Benjamin felt uncomfortable being stared at.
Especially after meeting Sophia's dangerous look, his heart jumped.
He quickly denied it three times: "It's not me, I didn't, don't overthink it."
This might just be a coincidence.
Emilio's face actually resembled his somewhat.
Before, he just thought Emilio had a maturity beyond his years, and he had a fairly good impression of Emilio.
But he had never carefully observed Emilio's face.
Looking at him today, he was so shocked he couldn't speak.
The others were equally shocked.
Emilio, on the other hand, looked confused.
He had no idea what was happening.
Originally, when he saw Sophia arrive, he was very happy and was about to talk to her.
But before he could go over, a handsome man and a beautiful woman walked in.
Then, the beautiful woman held his face and said some things he didn't quite understand.
Matthew was the first to react and suggested, "Why don't you two go do a paternity test?"
"Shut up! Sophia, he's really not my child. The fact that he looks like me might just be a coincidence."
Benjamin anxiously explained to Sophia.
Sophia patted his back soothingly and said firmly, "I believe you."
She knew Benjamin's feelings for her better than anyone.
Benjamin had always been a responsible person and wouldn't go looking for other women.
Besides, Emilio was already seven years old. Seven years ago, Benjamin was only 19.
Of course, if he really had been with another woman, she would just take the child and leave!
Matthew thought for a moment and said, "Just to be safe, you should still do a paternity test."
Adelaide poked his arm hard, signaling him to stop talking.
Matthew was helpless: "I don't mean anything by it, but if Benjamin dared to betray Sophia, I definitely wouldn't let him off."
Benjamin took a deep breath. If they weren't at the Lumina Group right now, he would definitely have his people throw Matthew out.
"Fine, a paternity test? I'll do it."
He knew very clearly that before meeting Sophia, he had never let any other woman get close to him.
Three hours later, the rushed paternity test results came out, proving Benjamin's innocence.
Benjamin was indeed not Emilio's biological father.
But—
Emilio and Benjamin had a family relationship.
When the paternity test results came out, everyone was stunned.
"Could he be the child of someone else from the White family?" Sophia asked with a serious expression.
Cillian was ruled out first, after all, he was only 15 when Emilio was born, so that left only... Magnus and Alaric.
But Magnus had been at the GeneCipher Society all these years; where would he have time to find a woman?
"Now there's only one possibility left. This child is very likely Alaric's! I was wondering why he's already thirty and still not married. Turns out he already had a child."
However, who was Emilio's biological mother?
How did Emilio end up being abandoned by his family?
