Chapter 492: Go Surrender Yourself
Sophia followed behind the bodyguard, observing the changes in the light from her ring as she walked.
The closer she got to Lachlan's room, the faster the light in the ring flickered.
She quickly confirmed that Lachlan's room wasn't signal-blocked after all.
Perhaps because Lachlan's room had special arrangements, only specific areas didn't need to be shielded.
Like the room she stayed in on the second floor—there wasn't even internet, and her positioning system couldn't work at all.
Thinking about this, Sophia's heartbeat quickened a bit.
Soon, the bodyguard led Sophia to Lachlan's door.
He knocked on the door, "Mr. White, Ms. Brown wants to see you."
About half a minute later, the door in front of them was open from inside.
Lachlan looked at Sophia and raised his eyebrows: "What is it?"
"Can we talk inside?"
A trace of surprise appeared in Lachlan's eyes. He then nodded and stepped aside: "Come in."
As soon as she stepped into his room, Sophia gently moved her fingers.
To be precise, she was discreetly touching the positioning device in her ring.
At the same time, Eldon, who was outside trying to crack the program, exclaimed: "Mr. White, Mrs. White's positioning system has a signal."
Benjamin immediately straightened up and looked at the computer screen.
He clearly saw a red dot flashing on the screen.
After opening the satellite positioning system, it could pinpoint the exact location.
The location shown was right in the villa at the center of the villa district.
Benjamin's heart skipped a beat, so nervous he almost held his breath.
He ordered coldly: "Send it to my phone, then try to break through the security system."
"Can... can I do it?" Eldon asked hesitantly.
If Lachlan discovered them, they'd all be exposed.
Eldon didn't really trust his own abilities. After all, anyone that could develop this level of security system was definitely a computer expert.
Only Sophia might be able to compete with that person.
Benjamin's lips twitched involuntarily, and he said expressionlessly: "A man can't say he can't do it."
"You're right, I'm going to start cracking it!"
Eldon decided to go all in!
If something went wrong, Benjamin and Sophia would handle it. He was just an employee after all.
He just needed to follow Benjamin's orders.
Thinking this way, Eldon's sleepiness immediately disappeared. He rolled up his sleeves, ready to give it his all.
In the villa, Lachlan asked Sophia: "What did you want to see me about?"
"I want to talk to you."
Lachlan raised his eyebrows in surprise: "About what?"
"I want to know, since all the misunderstandings have been cleared up, why are you still so set on developing a gene-altering drug?"
If Lachlan truly recognized his mistakes and turned himself in, maybe they wouldn't end up opposing each other in the future.
Maybe even Lachlan himself hadn't realized that he was actually a very talented person.
Whether in photography or other things.
But... he hadn't used his talents in the right way.
He even blamed all his shortcomings on genes.
How ridiculous!
Lachlan sneered: "What? You want to convince me to give up? I can tell you very clearly - impossible!"
He had no other choice.
If the police caught him, he'd be dead.
If he could get the formula for the drug and leave the country before the police found him, maybe he'd have a chance.
This was the perfect backup plan he could think of.
Sophia frowned and asked, "If you leave, what about Arabella and Celestia? Have you thought about them?"
Although Sophia didn't like Arabella and Celestia, they had been innocent all along.
She could also sense that Lachlan truly doted on Celestia.
So, could Lachlan really abandon Arabella and Celestia?
Hearing Celestia's name, Lachlan's expression stiffened.
He snorted coldly: "She'll understand me."
"Really? Who wants a murderer for a father?" Sophia looked at him with cold eyes.
Lachlan's face completely darkened: "What are you trying to say? You came to see me just to talk this nonsense?"
Sophia: "I don't think this is nonsense, Lachlan. Do you really want Celestia to be called a murderer's daughter in the future?"
Lachlan clenched his hands into tight fists, gritting his teeth and roaring: "Shut up! Shut up!"
Sophia's eyes gradually filled with pity: "Lachlan, turn yourself in. Don't let Celestia look down on you."
With that, she turned to leave.
At that moment, a gust of wind suddenly came from behind her. Lachlan's hand swung over, trying to grab her.
Sophia's pupils contracted. She nimbly stepped back, dodging his attack.
"Sophia, you came here just to provoke me on purpose, didn't you? I won't let you have your way! I'm warning you, don't try any more tricks, or I definitely won't let you off!"
"Let's see then." Sophia's tone was calm, as if she didn't take it to heart.
When Lachlan's palm fell again, Sophia quickly reached out to block it.
Seeing this, Lachlan sneered, "Overestimating yourself. You think you can resist..."
But before he could finish, a sharp pain suddenly came from his palm.
Sophia had stuck the needle of a syringe into his palm.
Intense pain spread through Lachlan's hand, as if all the bones in his body were being crushed.
"Sophia, what did you do to me?"
Sophia withdrew her hand, walked around the room, found some rope, and tied him to a chair.
"Don't make a sound yet. I won't hurt you. I just need to borrow the internet in your room."
Sophia's delicate fingers rested on her lips as she slowly curved them into a smile that looked soft and sweet, but made one's skin crawl.
Lachlan's eyelid twitched hard. He had let his guard down.
Earlier, he had specifically searched Sophia and taken away everything she had on her.
He never expected she'd somehow find a needle.
Sophia found a clean tie from his closet and stuffed it in his mouth to prevent him from making sounds that the bodyguards outside might hear.
Then, she walked over to the sofa on her own.
A computer sat on the desk.
Looking at her back, Lachlan began to struggle.
But his limbs were stiff, as if he'd been severely beaten. Everything from his internal organs to his skin ached.
He gritted his teeth hard, veins bulging at his temples, but no matter how he struggled, he couldn't break free from the rope's restraints.
