Chapter 455 Take Another Bite
Sophia nodded and added another sentence.
"She's been hypnotized for too long. One treatment definitely won't be enough. Come back again in a week."
Hearing Sophia's words, Tobias let out a huge sigh of relief.
"As long as she can be treated, that's good."
Ever since he learned that Amelia had been hypnotized, he hadn't had a good night's sleep.
Fortunately, there was Sophia's calming incense and medicine.
If Amelia's condition still couldn't improve, he really didn't know what he would do.
Thank goodness...
He looked up at Sophia, his eyes full of gratitude and relief.
No wonder Preston always said Sophia was the White family's lucky star. It was true.
Benjamin had been silent the whole time. Only after Tobias left did he speak.
"Is her condition serious?"
Sophia nodded. "She's been hypnotized for over twenty years. It'll be quite difficult to completely cure her."
Although treatment was difficult, it wasn't completely impossible for Amelia to recover.
However, it would require Amelia's full cooperation.
Sophia and Amelia had talked in the study for so long that she'd used up a lot of mental energy, and her stomach started growling.
She quickly covered her stomach and looked at Benjamin. "You didn't hear anything."
Benjamin, who had heard everything: "...Didn't hear a thing."
For Sophia's sake, what else could he say?
"Dinner's ready. I'll have them bring it out."
Benjamin chuckled softly, reached out to put his arm around Sophia's shoulder, and led her toward the dining room.
Sophia's cheeks flushed slightly, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.
But fortunately, Benjamin didn't dwell on it, and with the table full of delicious food, she quickly forgot about it.
At the dinner table, Benjamin asked her, "Sophia, when do you plan to treat me?"
"Tomorrow. I'm too tired today." After finishing her meal, Sophia leaned back lazily against her chair.
She rubbed her round little belly, the gesture indescribably adorable.
Benjamin leaned over and reached out to help her rub it.
"Feeling any better now?"
Sophia closed her eyes contentedly. "Much better. A little lighter."
Benjamin lightened his touch as she requested, his deep eyes full of affection.
Enjoying Benjamin's massage, Sophia slowly began to feel drowsy.
Suddenly she had a thought. She lifted her eyelids slightly and asked Benjamin, "Should we tell Matthew about Adelaide? I think she has the right to know."
"But this is someone else's relationship after all. We have no right to interfere."
After a pause, Benjamin continued, "Adelaide doesn't want to say anything, not because she doesn't trust Matthew's feelings for her, but because she's afraid he'll be with her out of pity and sympathy."
Sophia thought about it and found it made sense.
But she couldn't bear to see two people in love miss their chance like this.
Benjamin curled his finger and tapped her forehead lightly.
"Wife, you're thinking about another man right in front of your husband?"
Sophia covered her forehead in pain and glared at him. "I wasn't. This is called discussing the matter at hand."
Benjamin laughed. "Still making excuses."
Sophia blinked playfully, neither confirming nor denying.
The next morning, Alaric and Matthew came to Maple Grove Villas.
They'd heard last night that Sophia was going to treat Benjamin, so they rushed over early in the morning.
Matthew was curious, Alaric was worried.
Although Sophia had excellent medical skills, this was psychological hypnosis after all.
These were two completely different medical systems.
Alaric studied medicine himself, so he naturally understood how difficult this was.
So he was worried and pushed aside all his work to come over.
Alaric thought that if something went wrong, he could immediately call the psychologists he knew.
Just in case.
When they arrived at Maple Grove Villas, Benjamin and Sophia were having breakfast.
Benjamin and Sophia were being affectionate. Sophia sat on Benjamin's lap while he fed her, looking too sleepy to keep her eyes open.
Alaric frowned and asked, "Didn't sleep well last night? Why are you so tired?"
As soon as he said this, Benjamin and Sophia's expressions immediately became awkward.
Sophia glared hard at Benjamin. It was all his fault for insisting on making love.
Last night, she'd already been exhausted. Benjamin, who had been holding back for a long time, suddenly came over and started touching her.
Her sleepiness disappeared, and she bit down hard on Benjamin's shoulder.
The result... it was like triggering some kind of switch. Benjamin's dark, deep eyes became even more intense.
She couldn't remember how many times Benjamin had her last night. She only remembered that her whole body was soaked with sweat, as if she'd just been pulled out of water.
She had no strength left, her whole body aching in an indescribable way.
Benjamin carried her to the bathroom, and then... she fell asleep directly.
When she woke up again, it was already bright daylight.
The consequence of being exhausted nearly all night was... she was so tired now that she could barely keep her eyes open.
But she also felt hungry and couldn't fall asleep on an empty stomach.
So she punished Benjamin by making him feed her.
And that's what Alaric and Matthew walked in on.
Hearing Alaric's question, Sophia's cheeks flushed, and she buried her face in Benjamin's shoulder.
Benjamin chuckled and patted her back, teasing, "Shy now?"
Sophia didn't answer. She just clenched her fist and hit his chest.
She didn't have much strength, so the punch was soft and weightless.
Benjamin grabbed her little fist and kissed it. "Good girl, eat one more bite, and I'll take you to sleep."
Hearing this, Sophia slowly lifted her face from his shoulder and opened her mouth.
Benjamin immediately scooped up a spoonful of porridge and brought it to her lips.
One bite meant one bite. When Benjamin tried to feed her more, Sophia refused to eat.
Benjamin had no choice but to put down the spoon, pick Sophia up, and carry her upstairs.
Alaric and Matthew exchanged glances, their eyes full of helplessness.
They'd rushed over early in the morning to watch Sophia treat Benjamin.
Now they probably wouldn't get to see it.
After Benjamin carried Sophia back to the bedroom and came back downstairs, he said to them, "You can sit here for a while. She'll need about two hours to catch up on sleep."
Alaric and Matthew weren't surprised at all.
For Benjamin, Sophia's matters were more important than anything else.
Even if the sky fell, no one could disturb Sophia's sleep.
What could they do?
They could only wait obediently.
Matthew had now accepted Benjamin as Sophia's husband and was gradually becoming familiar with him.
He joked, "With Alaric's and my status, we handle deals worth tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars every minute. Together that's double. And you're making us wait two hours."
Benjamin glanced at him coldly. "You can also choose not to wait."
He was as irritating as ever when he spoke.
Matthew was left speechless, his lips twitching.
