Chapter 359 Can Only Yield
Clifton didn't give a definite answer, only saying: "I can go back and check the information. I can't make any promises, but I'll try my best to minimize the harm to him."
He had no other choice. If Finnley decided to look forward and stop pursuing the past, perhaps his body wouldn't be affected at all.
But he said he must recover his memory, and his attitude was very firm.
So all he could do was try his best first...
"Good, I feel better hearing you say that." M's serious expression finally relaxed.
The White Manor.
After dinner, Sophia and Finnley walked hand in hand in the garden. Under the night sky, the garden was filled with the fragrance of flowers.
Bright yet soft lights shone down, creating an indescribable romantic atmosphere.
Sophia sneaked a glance at Finnley, wanting to say something but hesitating. Just as she was about to look away, he caught her looking.
Finnley tightened his grip on Sophia's hand, "Just ask whatever you want to ask."
"What did Clifton say? You have to tell me honestly, no brushing me off!"
Sophia stopped walking and stood facing him, her clear eyes staring at him without blinking.
Finnley had his back to the light. When he lowered his head, he met Sophia's eyes that seemed filled with stars, and his cold heart instantly felt a touch of warmth.
"Want to hear the truth?" he asked.
"Of course! If you're not going to tell the truth, don't bother opening your mouth." Sophia glared at him, waiting for his response.
Finnley thought for a moment, then repeated what Clifton had said to her.
Sophia's eyes immediately turned red. She threw herself into his arms and hugged him tightly, "I'm sorry."
She was filled with guilt. If it weren't for saving her two years ago, nothing would have happened to him.
Finnley wasn't prepared and his body swayed slightly. He helplessly raised his hand to ruffle her hair, "It's not that serious, it just sounds scary."
"Is memory confusion a small matter?" Sophia lifted her face from Finnley's embrace with red-rimmed eyes, pretending to be disgusted as she said, "If you become an idiot in the future, I won't want you anymore."
So, you must be okay.
"You're that heartless toward me?" Finnley raised an eyebrow, his thin lips curving into a faint smile.
"Yes!"
If I'm not a bit harsh, how will you understand how serious this is?
Sophia straightened her chest confidently, her voice clearly soft but deliberately stern.
Giving off a serious feeling.
Finnley extended his long arm and pulled her tightly into his embrace, wishing he could merge her into his bones and blood.
"I will get proper treatment."
Finnley's tone was solemn and serious.
Sophia's head was pressed against Finnley's palm, her face buried in his chest unable to lift up, so she missed the emotions surging in his eyes.
It wasn't until several minutes later, when Finnley still showed no sign of letting go and was actually holding her even tighter, that she realized something was off.
She pushed against his chest with her hand, but couldn't break free.
At that moment, a teasing voice suddenly came from not far away, "You two should stop already. Being affectionate from day to night, aren't you tired?"
Sophia and Finnley turned their heads to look, and saw Matthew and Joshua standing not far away watching them.
Sophia's face flushed red, and she buried her face back into Finnley's embrace, making him chuckle.
Finnley looked up at the two of them, his tone full of disdain, "Why are you here?"
"To see how your treatment is going. I heard you even brought in Clifton?" Joshua put his arm on Matthew's shoulder, his handsome face wearing a cheerful smile.
Finnley held Sophia protectively in his arms, shooting cold, sharp looks at them.
"Want to die?"
Joshua quickly raised his hands in surrender, "Don't be so fierce, we're Sophia's family. You'd better be polite to us."
Cillian had just finished work and was coming back from outside when he happened to hear this.
He jogged over, put his arm around Joshua's neck, and chimed in: "That's right, we're all Sophia's family, you better watch yourself."
That's right, Cillian had already considered himself part of Sophia's family.
First, because Cillian liked Sophia, and second... a few days ago Joshua had introduced him to a major director for a role.
His own brother had never been this considerate, so he decisively decided to treat Joshua like his own brother.
As for his real brother, whatever.
Finnley's lips twitched slightly, looking at Cillian like he was looking at an idiot.
Cillian was simple-minded with well-developed limbs, easily bought off with a little benefit.
Such a stupid brother, whoever wants him can have him.
"When are you planning to leave? Don't you care about the business in Harmony City? Not filming anymore?" Finnley held Sophia's hand and walked toward the living room.
Matthew glanced at Finnley coolly, his voice cold, "There are people specifically managing the business. What, so eager to see us leave?"
Finnley raised an eyebrow, "I didn't expect your temper hasn't changed at all, still so aggressive."
He didn't remember what Matthew was like before, but he was very clear that from the first time they met, Matthew had been hostile toward him.
He was well aware that everything Matthew did was for Sophia, which was why he backed down.
If Matthew weren't Sophia's senior, given Finnley's usual personality, this person would never appear again.
What he didn't know was that Matthew was thinking the same thing.
If Sophia didn't like Finnley, he guaranteed Finnley wouldn't see tomorrow's sun.
So, these two strong-willed and cold personalities had temporarily reached a superficial peace for Sophia's sake.
In reality, Finnley and Matthew had been secretly competing with each other in private.
Sophia watched the interaction between Finnley and Matthew, feeling both helpless and amused.
"Childish!" she muttered quietly, then recounted what had happened during the day, adding, "Actually, I think the current situation is pretty good. Even if he can't remember anything, I don't mind."
No matter what happens, as long as their hearts are still together, that's enough.
Matthew affectionately ruffled Sophia's hair, promising in a low voice: "If you need any help, just ask me. I'll always be on your side."
"Me too!" Joshua came over, pushing Finnley aside and sitting next to Sophia himself.
Joshua and Matthew, one on each side, completely monopolized Sophia's attention.
Finnley just felt a headache coming on. Two grown men, how childish could they be?
They dared to compete with him for his wife? If they had the ability, they should go find their own wives!
Joshua suddenly remembered something and said to Sophia: "Oh right Sophia, Gregory's training camp is almost over. He'll be back in a few days. You should go pick him up."
"Gregory is finally coming back? I miss him so much!" Sophia's eyes lit up.
She hadn't seen Gregory in over half a year. When he was in training camp, it wasn't convenient to use his phone, so they often went half a year without contact.
Finnley, who had been listening on the side, suddenly froze, crying inside.
Two senior brothers were already enough for him, and now another one? How could he handle this?
But he only dared to think these thoughts. When facing Sophia and Sophia's family, he could only give in.
