Chapter 327 Sophia is the White family's Lucky Star

Chapter 329 Waiting to Hold Great-Grandchildren

As they were talking, footsteps suddenly sounded outside the door.

A servant rushed in, eyes full of excitement. "Mr. Preston White, Mr. Alaric White, Mr. Benjamin White and Mrs. White are back."

Alaric and Cillian both turned toward the door, just in time to see Finnley returning with Sophia.

Behind them followed two men with cold faces, looking fierce and menacing, as if someone owed them millions of dollars.

Alaric greeted them with a light smile, "Mr. Moore, Mr. Lopez."

Matthew and Joshua shot Finnley a cold glare, then gave Alaric a slight nod in response.

Alaric didn't take Matthew and Joshua's attitude to heart. He turned to look at Finnley and Sophia, "Good that you're back. We tried calling you earlier but couldn't get through. Grandpa was really worried about you."

Seeing the concern and anxiety in his eyes, Finnley felt like something warm was wrapping tightly around his heart.

This feeling of being carefully treated and cherished was something he had never experienced before.

A hint of bitterness rose in his heart, but he quickly pushed it down, his thin lips curving into a faint smile. "We were on the plane, phones were off."

Whether before or after losing his memory, he had never been good at expressing himself. Even when moved, he appeared indifferent on the surface.

Fortunately, the White family all knew his temperament and didn't mind at all.

Preston nodded with relief, "Good that you're back. Sit down, Alaric has something to tell you."

Hearing Preston's words, Sophia and Finnley finally noticed the heavy atmosphere in the house, especially Cillian, whose face was as dark as storm clouds.

Remembering Thaddeus's anxious tone on the phone, Sophia couldn't help but smile to herself.

She had thought they might go after Preston or Alaric, but never expected that the one who nearly got kidnapped would be Cillian.

Preston was the pillar of the White family, and Alaric now controlled the entire White Group. If anything happened to either of them, the whole White family would fall into chaos.

Cillian hugged a pillow, looking aggrieved. "They're just bullying me, a vulnerable person!"

"You're vulnerable? More like mentally vulnerable," Alaric mocked.

Being ridiculed by Alaric, Cillian felt like several more knives had been stabbed into his heart, nearly making him spit blood.

"Grandpa, Finnley, look at Alaric! He's calling me mentally challenged!"

Finnley glanced at him coolly, lips slightly curved. "Aren't you? How come everyone else in the family is fine, but you get kidnapped the moment you go out?"

Cillian: "..."

No love left!

Preston couldn't help but laugh. After laughing, he became serious. "Let's talk business. Thanks to Sophia this time, otherwise Cillian would probably have been taken away."

Though Cillian was usually a bit simple-minded, he rarely offended anyone.

The fact that they dared to act in Silverlight City meant those people were powerful enough to challenge the White family.

Though the White family had deep roots, they still couldn't compare to those secretive wealthy families.

With the enemy in the shadows and them in the light, they had no idea how powerful the other side really was, or even where to strike back.

"I'm guessing their people got caught, so they wanted revenge on me. That's why they acted so hastily. Grandpa, leave this to me."

"Sophia, those people are crazy. From now on, don't go out alone anymore. Have Finnley stay with you at all times to protect you."

Preston had long considered Sophia his own granddaughter. If she hadn't married into the White family, she wouldn't have suffered so much.

Sophia wanted to say she was fine when suddenly, a warm hand grasped her fingers.

She looked over to see Finnley shaking his head at her, then turning to Preston. "Grandpa, don't worry, I'll take good care of Sophia."

With Finnley's assurance, Preston finally felt relieved, the heavy expression on his face fading slightly. "You two take care of each other from now on, otherwise I won't be able to rest in peace even in death."

"Grandpa, don't say such things."

"Grandpa, don't talk like that. With me here, you'll definitely live to a hundred."

Two years ago, when Preston learned of Benjamin's death at sea, he had fainted on the spot.

After that emotional rollercoaster, his health had deteriorated significantly. Though Sophia had been helping to care for his health, Preston's illness was mainly in his heart.

Fortunately, Benjamin had returned now. Though he had lost his memory, at least he was alive.

Seeing Preston's burden gradually lift and his health improve compared to before, the younger generation was also happy.

But Preston suddenly saying such things made everyone's hearts clench.

Preston waved his hand with a smile. "Never mind, never mind. I'm still waiting to hold my great-grandchildren."

Everyone's eyes fell on Sophia and Finnley, with a hint of teasing.

Sophia's cheeks suddenly flushed, not daring to look into Finnley's eyes.

"Grandpa, you should go rest in your room," Sophia urged.

Finn immediately stepped forward to help Preston up from the sofa and took him upstairs to rest.

After Preston left, Alaric spoke up. "Sophia, how do you know Thaddeus?"

"He happened to owe me a favor. I guessed these people wouldn't let it go, so I asked him for a small favor."

Sophia didn't mention performing surgery on Celestria's CEO. She had promised Francis to keep it confidential.

Fortunately, Alaric didn't press further, just nodded lightly. "Thanks to Sophia, otherwise Cillian definitely wouldn't have escaped this time."

Cillian nodded vigorously too. "Exactly! Those people are so horrible! They even dared to kidnap me!"

"And you still talk! I've told you so many times to do more physical training, but you wouldn't listen. Now what? Regretting it?" Alaric sneered mockingly.

Cillian blinked guiltily, not daring to argue back.

Matthew and Joshua hadn't said a word the whole time. Their expressions were slightly better than when they first came in, but still somewhat gloomy.

They had clearly agreed that Sophia would stay in Harmony City for a few more days, but then the White family had this incident at such a critical time.

Sophia's whole heart was devoted to the White family. As soon as she heard something happened, she rushed back.

A classic case of forgetting the pain once the wound healed.

They didn't oppose Sophia being with Finnley, but they didn't want to see her sacrifice everything for the White family.

Yet Sophia seemed obsessed, as if she wanted to pour her entire heart into Finnley.

Before returning, Matthew had pulled Sophia aside to ask about Finnley.

But Sophia was evasive and wouldn't tell him the truth, which made him quite angry.
