Chapter 265 Call Me Senior and Let Me Hear It
Sophia frowned. Was her intuition wrong? When she came out earlier, she clearly saw that both Benjamin and Xander didn't look too happy.
"Don't overthink it. Xander and I discussed a business deal, he agreed, and our relationship is fine."
Benjamin looked up toward the tall figure ahead, saying those last few words through gritted teeth.
......
Before Maddox woke up, Sophia received a call from Francis asking her to come to the research institute.
Benjamin drove the car to the entrance of Oasis University. Sophia unbuckled her seatbelt and was about to push the door open when someone grabbed her wrist.
Then, a dark shadow pressed toward her.
Benjamin's unique crisp scent rushed toward her. Sophia pushed him and said helplessly, "Stop it, Francis is still waiting for me."
"Mrs. White, you're really showing what it means to use someone and toss them aside."
Benjamin propped one hand on the car and placed the other on the passenger seat backrest, trapping Sophia in his arms while looking at her accusingly.
His expression was exactly like he was looking at a heartless woman.
Sophia's lips twitched slightly. Then she reached out to cup his face, looking at his handsome features so close to her, and smiled softly, "What? You want to charge a fee?"
Benjamin raised an eyebrow, "Can't I?"
"Sure."
Sophia lifted her head and pressed her lips against his, giving him a light kiss.
Maybe it was from being in the air-conditioned car too long, but his lips were cool, yet very soft.
"You think one kiss is enough to send me off?"
Benjamin's sexy Adam's apple bobbed, his deep eyes darkened, and he grabbed the back of her head. Just as she was about to pull away, he deepened the kiss.
His tall frame wrapped tightly around her, like an impenetrable wall—hard and burning hot.
Sophia felt that all she could breathe in was his scent.
He dominantly and forcefully held her hands, giving her no chance to struggle or resist.
His lips gradually changed from cold to burning hot, like a blazing fire starting to burn.
The temperature inside the car kept rising. A blush crept onto Sophia's fair cheeks.
The blush spread all the way to behind her ears, but Benjamin still wouldn't let her go. His tongue dominantly entangled with hers, as if wanting to devour her completely and merge her into his bones and blood.
After who knows how long, Sophia was kissed until her whole body went soft, unable to muster any strength, her mind dizzy and confused.
Only then did Benjamin release her lips and look down at her.
Those dark eyes sparkled with tiny glimmers of light, like stars filling the sky, almost lighting up the endless night.
"Mrs. White, next time, this is what counts as charging a fee."
He lowered his head, his rough fingertips gently caressing Sophia's lips, his eyes full of longing and possessive obsession.
Sophia's face turned completely red from his teasing, like a fire was burning.
She glared at him fiercely, "It's all your fault, I'm going to be late."
She and Francis had agreed to meet at seven o'clock, and now only five minutes remained.
The building where the research institute was located was the furthest from the school gate. Even if she ran, she might not make it in time.
"That's easy to fix." Benjamin chuckled, returned to the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove the car inside.
There were fewer cars coming and going in the evening, and not many people on campus, so Benjamin quickly parked the car in front of the research institute building.
"How do you have a school pass?" Sophia's eyes widened in shock.
Oasis University's campus had very strict access control. Without a pass, entry wasn't allowed, so many cars had to park outside.
Benjamin's lips curved slightly, his slender fingers tapping lightly on the steering wheel. "Guess."
Sophia: "......"
Childish!
In the end, she couldn't resist her curiosity and asked, "Did you pay someone to buy it?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Benjamin curled his slender fingers and tapped her smooth forehead, sighing helplessly, "Mrs. White, how little do you know about your husband? You don't even know where I graduated from college."
Sophia suddenly understood, then felt incredulous, "You also graduated from Oasis University?"
"Yes." Benjamin's lips curved slightly, his narrow eyes squinting with a hint of teasing, "Be good, call me senior?"
Looking at Benjamin's handsome face so close to her, Sophia's cheeks reddened. She couldn't help thinking, how could there be such a flirtatious man in this world?
When Benjamin turned on the charm, even she couldn't handle it.
She opened her phone to check the time and quickly pushed the car door open and escaped.
If she stayed any longer, she probably wouldn't be able to control her desires!
Watching Sophia flee in panic, Benjamin chuckled softly, leaned back in the driver's seat, and gently stroked his lips with his fingertips.
Her sweet scent seemed to still linger there, making him long for more, unable to stop.
After getting out of the car, Sophia quickly ran into the building, patting her burning cheeks and taking a deep breath. Acting as if nothing had happened, she walked toward Francis's office.
In the office, there wasn't just Francis, but also Lowell and Elijah.
They were gathered around the desk, their faces serious and grave. Hearing footsteps, they all turned to look at Sophia.
"Sophia, come in quickly." Francis spoke first, waving at Sophia.
Sophia frowned but still walked in, closing the door behind her.
"Francis, what happened? Elijah came to Harmony City too?"
Francis explained, "Sophia, I asked Elijah to come. I remember that seventeen years ago Benjamin was kidnapped, and after he came back, he was injected with some unknown drug by an organization."
"Let me explain." Elijah sighed and looked at Sophia. "It's like this—in the past six months, Harmony City has lost quite a few children. Many wealthy families haven't been spared. So far, only one child has been found, but when they found him, he was barely alive and showed the same symptoms as Benjamin."
Sophia's heart sank suddenly. She asked in disbelief, "You mean that organization has reappeared after disappearing for seventeen years?"
Francis and Elijah both nodded. "We're not sure yet if it's the same organization from seventeen years ago, but there's a high possibility."
"Actually, it's not just Harmony City. Many surrounding cities have experienced similar incidents. In the past six months, cases of missing children have been frequent. At first, no one thought in this direction, until half a month ago."
Half a month ago.
Was this timing a coincidence?
Sophia lowered her eyes, hiding the expression in them, and fell into thought.
Half a month ago should have been when she was supposed to come to Harmony City, but later, to improve the drug's effectiveness and confirm there were no obvious side effects, Sophia postponed her departure by exactly half a month.
How could there be such a coincidence?
"Francis, Elijah, can I see that child?"
