Chapter 183 She Even Protected Benjamin
"They're not blind, they're just looking down on everyone. Since Sophia has been living in the countryside all these years, they thought bringing her back was some huge favor."
So everyone in the Brown family looked down on Sophia.
Plus Isabella deliberately stirred up trouble.
Sophia quickly became everyone's target.
Joshua gripped his phone tight, a surge of anger suddenly rising in his chest.
The Brown family really didn't know what was good for them.
They had no idea how amazing Sophia actually was.
"That's fine though. Now that Sophia has cut ties with the Brown family, they'll regret it someday. The person they look down on is actually someone they could never reach."
Matthew let out a cold laugh, his eyes full of coldness.
Joshua nodded in agreement, "You're right. Let them come begging to Sophia later."
"How's your crew doing? I've been too busy lately, haven't had time to check the news." Matthew opened his news app and typed in Vast Mountain, and sure enough, saw news about the heavy rain.
"Nothing major, just a few crew members and actors got pretty badly hurt and were sent to the hospital." Joshua collapsed onto his bed.
He stared at the white ceiling and sighed, "Thank god for Sophia. If she hadn't stepped in, things could have gotten really bad."
Joshua briefly explained how Sophia had treated Isolde and Saskia's injuries, bursting with pride.
Sophia was just that amazing!
After hearing this, Matthew frowned, "I told you to study medicine properly, but you wouldn't listen. If Sophia wasn't there, do you think you could still survive in the entertainment industry? And this kind of thing won't just happen once."
"Matthew, please give me a break. I don't have any talent for medicine!"
Of the four students Robert took on, only Sophia had medical talent.
The other three were all pretty average.
Only Matthew was barely passable.
At first, their teacher pushed them every day to study medicine.
Later, he just gave up and focused on teaching Sophia, passing on almost all his medical knowledge to her.
"Even if you're not an expert in medicine, you should at least know basic medical knowledge. Otherwise, how can you call yourself Robert's student?" Matthew had always been lenient with Joshua, but more than that, he was frustrated with him.
"Matthew, please spare me!" Joshua quickly begged for mercy.
"By the way, how's Sophia? Is she hurt?"
"She's fine. Benjamin's taking care of her, doesn't need me at all." Joshua clicked his tongue, "Ungrateful kid. After caring for her all these years, I just said a few words about Benjamin and she started defending him."
Matthew chuckled softly, "You know her personality. She may seem gentle and obedient on the surface, but deep down she's really stubborn. Once she's made up her mind about something, she'll stick with it no matter what."
So when he learned about Sophia's determination regarding Benjamin, he didn't try too hard to stop her.
Because he knew that even if he tried, he couldn't stop her.
Matthew and Joshua chatted a bit more, then Matthew reminded him, "No matter what, make sure you take good care of Sophia. Once I finish the work I have on hand, I'll come visit myself."
After hanging up, Joshua fell into thought.
When had Matthew ever cared this much about him?
He was sure that if Sophia wasn't here, Matthew wouldn't even bother with him.
But when he got back to Silverlight City, he needed to look into this Brown family.
Sawyer said he was Sophia's real brother.
But his attitude toward Sophia showed none of the closeness you'd expect between family.
You could even call them strangers.
Which meant Sophia hadn't had a good time at the Brown Villa.
Joshua tossed his phone aside and couldn't help but snort coldly.
Anyone who dared to bully Sophia was asking for death.
At the same time, in another room, Sawyer had also connected to the hotel's network.
Messages kept popping up on his phone. Sawyer thought they were work messages so he didn't open them right away.
When he came back after dinner, he found his phone had over 99+ messages and several missed calls.
Among them, Isabella had sent him the most messages.
He raised an eyebrow, couldn't help but smile.
Isabella still had some conscience, his affection for her wasn't wasted.
Sawyer's slender fingers tapped on the screen, opening his chat with Isabella. He scrolled down for a long time before finally finding the first unread message.
Sawyer had opened it full of joy, but the more he read, the more his brow furrowed.
At first, Isabella kept complaining to him that Sophia was deliberately targeting her, both openly and subtly.
She also very kindly defended Sophia, saying she didn't mean it and hoping he wouldn't blame Sophia.
If there were just one or two messages like this, Sawyer might not have noticed anything wrong.
But there were dozens of messages with similar content, which made him suspicious.
He'd been in the entertainment industry long enough to have seen all kinds of people, and he knew the subtle tactics people used to smear others.
At first, he hadn't thought about it that way, because Isabella was someone he'd watched grow up.
He knew Isabella's character better than anyone.
But now, looking at those messages on his phone screen, he suddenly fell into thought.
Was Isabella really as innocent and kind as she appeared to be?
If she was truly kind, she wouldn't say things like this.
But he didn't want to think badly of Isabella.
Sawyer felt conflicted inside, but his fingers didn't stop.
Scrolling to messages from about half a month ago, his eyes suddenly froze.
The day before, Isabella had been sharing her joy about the upcoming engagement, but the next day her tone suddenly changed.
She sent several crying and upset emojis.
Sophia had ruined her and Zander's engagement party, destroyed her reputation, accused her in front of everyone, and played an audio recording that was computer-generated.
Sawyer didn't know what that recording was, but clearly it had caused very serious negative effects for Isabella.
The engagement was canceled, and Isabella's reputation in the entertainment industry was completely ruined.
Sawyer immediately opened Facebook and searched for Isabella in the search box.
Several entries popped up.
Sawyer clicked through them one by one, his expression getting worse the more he read.
For some reason, these Facebook entries hadn't been deleted, so that audio recording was still there.
After listening to the recording, Sawyer was completely stunned.
The voices were definitely Sophia's and Isabella's.
But Isabella's voice was sharp and harsh, with an indescribable viciousness, completely different from the Isabella he knew.
He couldn't believe those vicious words all came from Isabella's mouth.
In his mind, Isabella had always been gentle, kind, and understanding.
Ever since Sophia was brought back to the Brown Villa, Isabella had always given in to Sophia. Even when she was wronged, she would just cry quietly, never...
At this thought, Sawyer suddenly froze.
He suddenly realized that every time Isabella was bullied, he had never actually witnessed it himself.
It was all what Isabella had told him.
