Chapter 158 Miss Your Husband? Give Him a Kiss
When Sophia picked up her utensils, she paused slightly, her expression hard to describe.
How to put it - being watched by a group of people while eating inevitably felt a bit uncomfortable.
Sophia cleared her throat lightly and instructed a servant nearby, "Take them downstairs for some water and a rest."
The servant immediately stepped forward and made a welcoming gesture to the group, "We're terribly sorry, Ms. Brown doesn't like to be disturbed while eating."
"Mrs. White, please take your time. Just call us when you're done and we'll come clear the dishes." The group was very tactful, nodding respectfully to Sophia before following the servant out.
Sophia looked at the various delicacies before her and couldn't help swallowing.
Sophia hadn't eaten in a long time. Her stomach was completely empty, and right now she felt like she could eat a whole cow.
She picked up her utensils and started eating.
The familiar taste spread across her tongue, and Sophia closed her eyes blissfully.
However, she didn't have a big appetite, and Benjamin had sent too much food. She didn't eat much.
Halfway through the meal, Sophia suddenly spotted a little red rabbit hidden among the dishes.
It was carved from a carrot, the cartoon figure looking adorably silly and innocent as it stared at Sophia.
Both cute and ugly.
Sophia picked up the little rabbit with her chopsticks and looked at it, unable to help laughing out loud.
No need to guess - Benjamin must have carved it. It was so ugly.
Sophia's eyes curved with warmth filling her heart.
After examining it carefully, Sophia was surprised to discover that on the rabbit's back was a bright red little heart, looking especially adorable.
Sophia leaned in closer to see more clearly.
Below the little heart was a line of text so tiny that you could barely see it unless you looked carefully.
"I'm sorry."
How afraid was Benjamin that Matthew would find out? Being so cautious.
Sophia felt helpless. She put down her utensils and walked toward the floor-to-ceiling window.
Outside, the sunlight was perfect. Through the lush green courtyard, Sophia's room had a view right toward the main gate.
At that moment, a familiar car was parked at the entrance.
A man with a tall, slender figure stood straight at the gate.
Their eyes met across the distance, and both their lips curved up at the same time.
For some reason, Sophia felt like they were having an affair, even though they were a legally married couple.
In the evening, people from Harvest & Hearth came again.
Sophia was lying on the table, writing and drawing on the surface, so focused that she didn't even lift her head. "Just put the things on the table."
After speaking, she dove back into the sketch in front of her.
Staying here was really too boring.
She could only draw things to pass the time.
She used to always draw clothing designs and such, but today, an entire sheet of paper was filled up.
All of it was Benjamin - cartoon versions of Benjamin.
Chubby little face, big eyes, expression as cold as ever, but with an added touch of cuteness.
The little figure Sophia was currently drawing showed Benjamin in a suit, but biting a lollipop that completely clashed with his overall demeanor.
It was just too cute. Sophia couldn't help laughing out loud.
"Very funny?"
At that moment, a low, husky voice tinged with danger suddenly came from above her head.
Sophia froze, thinking she was hearing things.
She suddenly looked up and met a pair of deep eyes.
Benjamin's figure was tall and slender with perfect proportions. His handsome face looked even more striking and defined under the lights, his dark eyes slightly narrowed with a hint of a smile.
"Benjamin?" Sophia stared blankly at Benjamin in front of her, not knowing how to react for a moment.
Benjamin reached out his warm palm and gently placed it on top of Sophia's head, stroking it tenderly. His low, husky voice carried a trace of laughter, "What? Haven't seen me for a few days and you don't recognize me anymore?"
Feeling the warmth from above her head, Sophia's nose suddenly tingled and she wanted to cry.
She stood up from her chair, opened her arms, and threw herself into Benjamin's embrace.
Benjamin also opened his arms, pulling the long-missed Sophia into his embrace. His arms, hard as steel, tightened forcefully, as if wanting to completely merge her into his body and never separate again.
These past few days, Benjamin had been reflecting on himself.
He indeed hadn't fulfilled his responsibilities as a husband, and he would definitely work to correct this in the future.
"Honey, I missed you so much." Sophia buried her face deeply into Benjamin's chest, nuzzling against him dependently, her lips slightly upturned, her clear eyes brimming with smiles.
Benjamin's lips curved slightly, and his tense face softened a bit.
His large hand gently stroked Sophia's soft hair, his voice low and coaxing, "Good girl, say it again."
It was the most ordinary term of endearment, but when spoken in her sweet voice, it took on an extra sweetness.
Benjamin felt he could never hear it enough in his lifetime.
"Honey, honey, honey..."
Sophia was impossibly obedient, repeating the term over and over.
Benjamin's chin rested on top of Sophia's head, his eyes lowered, their color deepening.
"Such a good girl. Did you miss your husband?"
"Yes!"
"Then... how about a kiss?"
Benjamin's arms around Sophia loosened slightly, and to match Sophia's height, he even bent down a bit.
Sophia's cheeks flushed. In just a few short days, Benjamin seemed to have gotten better and better at flirting.
Benjamin's few short sentences made her heart race and her face flush.
And that face of Benjamin's, usually cold and indifferent, now broke into a slight smile, like a glacier melting in an instant, sweet to the very core of her heart.
Sophia's slender, fair arms hooked around Benjamin's neck as she brought her soft lips closer.
The moment their lips touched, Benjamin felt his heart tremble violently.
She pressed against his lips, impossibly soft.
Benjamin tensed and held his breath. His large palm cupped the back of Sophia's head, not giving her a chance to escape.
Little by little, from gentle and tender to increasingly deep, he pried open her white teeth, savoring her sweetness.
Benjamin felt like his heart was about to jump out of his chest. Even if Sophia did nothing, just her presence had a fatal attraction for him.
If it weren't for Sophia's little face turning bright red, her soft little hands pressing against his chest in silent protest, he would have wanted to kiss her until the end of time.
At this moment, to prevent Sophia from suffocating during the kiss, Benjamin reluctantly slowly released her.
Sophia felt her whole body go weak, especially her legs. If it weren't for Benjamin's arm across her waist supporting her, she would definitely have fallen to the ground.
Sophia's lips pouted slightly as she glared at him in dissatisfaction.
However, this glare had no power whatsoever.
Sophia's fair little face showed a light pink color, shy like a flower just blooming, beautiful and captivating.
Sophia's sparkling eyes were veiled with a layer of mist, the corners of her eyes tinged with an unnatural blush, adding a touch of alluring charm.
One more look and he couldn't help wanting to kiss her again.
