Chapter 155 Locked Out

Chapter 156 I'll Find You a Better Man

"You should worry about yourself first. Celestia, we can barely protect ourselves right now, and you still have time to worry about Magnolia?"

Arabella sighed helplessly. Celestia really hadn't inherited any of her intelligence. She was as naive as a child who never grew up. Magnolia could wrap her around her finger with just a few words.

"Mom, I just don't understand. Magnolia is so wonderful, why would Benjamin treat her like this?"

What did she do wrong? She just loved Benjamin too much!

Arabella suddenly felt a wave of helplessness, but she still didn't expose Magnolia's true colors in front of Celestia.

Celestia had grown up with Magnolia, and they were very close.

Because Celestia was spoiled and willful, very few friends wanted to play with her. Over time, although she seemed outgoing and headstrong on the surface, she was actually quite sensitive inside.

Magnolia was her only friend.

If she knew that Magnolia had been using her all along and had never truly considered her a friend, she would be devastated.

She put on a stern face and said coldly, "Celestia, whether she's done anything wrong or not, just don't mention her in front of Benjamin anymore. Save yourself the unnecessary trouble."

Late at night.

Sophia lay with her eyes open, unable to sleep.

She was lying in bed, wrapped in thick blankets, her watery eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.

Moonlight streamed through the window, falling on her slightly pale but exceptionally delicate face, coating it with a sacred glow.

She tossed and turned, unable to sleep for a long time, her mind constantly replaying images of Benjamin standing outside the door.

Matthew wouldn't let her leave the room, much less return to the White Manor.

But she really missed Benjamin.

After sleeping in the same bed with him for so long at night, it had become a habit.

Even though they hadn't had sex yet, Benjamin held her while sleeping every night.

She would tuck her slightly cold little feet between Benjamin's legs to warm them, and sometimes Benjamin would hold her feet in his hands, transferring the warmth from his palms to her.

His embrace was warm too, making her reluctant to leave.

The more she thought about it, the less Sophia could sleep.

She climbed out of bed, walked to the window, looked outside, and considered the possibility of jumping from the second floor without getting hurt.

In the end, Sophia chickened out.

Her body was too weak right now. Forget the second floor—even going down the stairs was exhausting.

"When will these days end!" Sophia sighed helplessly, resting her elbows on the balcony railing, quietly admiring the moon.

She didn't know that at this moment, there was someone else standing by a floor-to-ceiling window, staring blankly at the moonlight, his mind full of thoughts about her.

Benjamin wore a dark blue silk robe, holding an unlit cigarette between his fingers.

Tonight, he had tossed and turned in bed for a long time, rarely experiencing insomnia.

Benjamin got out of bed and stood by the floor-to-ceiling window. Thinking about how he hadn't been able to see Sophia today made his irritation even worse.

He found a pack of cigarettes in the bedside table drawer and pulled one out.

Because of his health, Benjamin had never smoked. This pack was a gift from a business partner that he had casually accepted without much thought.

He never expected it would come in handy today.

The moment the lighter was opened, a blue-tinged flame leaped out, and his deep eyes were lit up by the blazing fire.

Benjamin stared at the flame in a daze, but eventually extinguished it.

His current body was something Sophia had traded her life for. He had to cherish it, or he would be letting down her sacrifice.

Benjamin casually tossed away the lighter and the unlit cigarette, then looked up at the sky.

The night was dark, dotted with countless twinkling stars that lit up the entire sky.

A half-moon hung in the sky, its bright moonlight shining on the ground, coating the world in a beautiful color.

Looking at all this, Benjamin's mind slowly conjured up Sophia's sweet and lovely face, and he couldn't help but smile.

Before, he could hold Sophia while sleeping, but now he only felt tormented.

Only now did he understand what it meant to not appreciate what you have.

Lying in bed alone, Benjamin felt his heart was empty, as if something very important was missing.

After standing by the window for who knows how long, Benjamin cursed under his breath, walked into the dressing room, changed into a new set of clothes, grabbed a set of car keys from the coffee table, and headed out the door.

Late at night, the entire White Manor was silent.

Benjamin's steady footsteps gradually echoed, breaking the villa's tranquility.

But no one noticed.

After leaving the White Manor, Benjamin started the engine and drove toward Maple Grove Villas.

Benjamin spent the entire night parked outside Matthew's house.

When Sophia woke up, daylight was already bright.

Just then, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Sophia's voice was soft, with a bit of morning hoarseness from just waking up, but it was especially pleasant to hear.

Matthew came in from outside, walking with steady steps to sit by the bed.

"Sophia, how do you feel today? Is anything bothering you?"

Sophia sighed helplessly, letting him check her pulse. "Matthew, I'm much better already. I can move, run, and jump. So... why don't you let me go back to the White Manor?"

Matthew looked down, meeting Sophia's dewy eyes, and his heart softened a bit.

But he still said with a stern face, "This is not up for discussion. You stay here and recover properly. Once you're better, you can naturally go back."

"But I want to go back now." Sophia looked aggrieved, her delicate white hand gently tugging at Matthew's sleeve. "Matthew, please say yes."

"You want to go back to see Benjamin?" Matthew saw right through her thoughts and exposed them without hesitation.

Sophia's cheeks flushed slightly red, and she scratched her head a bit embarrassed. "Matthew, please say yes. Actually, Benjamin is really good. If you could spend more time with him, you'd definitely discover his good qualities."

"Why would I want to spend time with him? He can't even protect his own woman—he doesn't deserve to be your husband." Matthew gently rubbed Sophia's fluffy little head, coaxing her in a gentle voice, "Be good. I'll find you a better man in the future."

At that moment, outside the gate, Benjamin, who had been blown by the cold wind all night and listened to cicadas all night, suddenly sneezed.

The weather in Silverlight City had been a bit unstable lately. It suddenly got cold last night, catching many people off guard.

Benjamin rubbed his nose, his handsome face gradually darkening.

"I don't want anyone else! I only want Benjamin! I don't want anyone but him!" The slight smile on Sophia's lips gradually fell, the curve disappearing, her face full of dejection.
