Chapter 98 You Started It, Baby...
Audrey knew she should resist. They were in the office, just steps away from the bullpen.
But her body betrayed her. Her hands, which had been clenched at her sides, lifted abrutply gripping his shirt without thinking.
The kiss deepened, became more intimate.
Elliot pressed her harder against the door. Audrey tried to stifle the sounds threatening to escape.
This was insane. Too risky. Anyone could walk in.
But at the same time, she couldn't push him away.
Sensing her losing control, he deepened the kiss further, testing their limits. One hand traced her face, touching her with a tenderness that contrasted with the intensity of his kiss.
She had to break contact first, gasping for air, trying to find her sanity.
"Sir... we're... at the office..." she whispered, barely audible.
He didn't answer immediately. His dark, hungry eyes held hers, like he wanted to devour her whole.
"And?" he asked casually, his fingers already tracing her waist. "No one gets in without my permission."
She bit her lip. Not from embarrassment this time—but to hide the smile threatening to appear.
Of course.
This was Elliot Harrington's office. He always had ways to ensure they wouldn't be disturbed.
That thought alone made her grab his collar and kiss him first.
He was clearly surprised by her sudden boldness, but recovered instantly, matching her intensity.
This round was more demanding. Wilder. Deeper. Neither held back the soft sounds escaping between kisses.
Then something hard pressed against her stomach.
She'd woken him up.
With effort, she pulled away. He looked at her with protest, breathless.
"We have to stop."
"Why?" He was already pouting slightly.
His arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer—making sure she felt exactly what she'd done to him. "You did this. Now take responsibility."
She panicked. The thought of actually doing it here...
"B-but we're at the office—"
"I locked the door." One eyebrow arched.
She froze. Her already flushed face burned hotter.
He noticed. And smirked.
He lowered his head, lips brushing her ear, making sure she squirmed. "You started it, baby..."
She closed her eyes briefly, trying to control her still-racing breath. If she didn't stop this now...
Slowly, she opened her eyes. He was still watching her with that hungry gaze, that infuriating smirk permanently on his face.
"We could do a quickie, you know..." His smirk widened.
And somehow—she wasn't saying no.
Why am I like this?! She screamed internally, horrified at herself.
He was trouble. And damn it, this time she was almost agreeing to his insane idea.
Her mind warred between logic and the desire he'd so annoyingly sparked.
"Elliot Harrington... you're crazy," she muttered, half frustrated.
He shrugged casually. "But you like it."
She glared. It only made him smirk harder.
Damn it. Why did he always know how to make her surrender?
When he closed the distance again, his hands already tracing her back, pulling her closer.
"So?" His voice was rough. Tempting.
She could push him away now. Stop this before it went too far.
Instead—
Her hands grabbed his collar. Her mouth claimed his.
He chuckled against her lips, clearly enjoying her surrender.
"See? I knew you wanted it too."
She didn't answer. But her grip on his shirt tightened, pulling him deeper into the desire they'd created.
His hands traced her curves with touches she'd grown to crave. Their breathing mingled, growing heavier with intensity.
Just as things were heating up—
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Audrey froze. Panic flooded her eyes.
Elliot exhaled long and loud, clearly annoyed. He rested his forehead against her shoulder for a moment before stepping back, giving them both space to compose themselves.
"Mr. Harrington?" Liam's voice came through the door. "Are you in there?"
Audrey scrambled to straighten her slightly disheveled clothes. Elliot just smirked, hands sliding casually into his pockets.
Once she looked presentable enough, he answered calmly, "Yes. I'm here."
"Is Audrey in there too?"
Audrey's eyes went wide. She shot her husband a panicked look. He was already leaning casually against his desk, watching her with that infuriatingly amused expression.
"Yes. She's here. Why?" Elliot's voice was perfectly composed.
"Something to report," Liam answered.
Elliot glanced at Audrey before responding, "Five minutes."
Audrey glared at him. Five minutes?!
Liam chuckled softly from outside. "Sure, sir. I'll wait."
The moment his footsteps faded, Audrey turned to Elliot with a death glare. "Are you insane?!" she hissed, half angry, half mortified.
He just shrugged, then stood and walked back to her. His hand lifted, fingers casually tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Like I said," he murmured, lips brushing her ear, "I'm not done with you."
Audrey held her breath, shivers running down her spine.
Damn you, Elliot.
How was she supposed to work peacefully when every day was like this?
