Chapter 27
Evelyn woke up to the morning sunshine streaming into her room. Last night had been different. She couldn't put a finger on it but the way Roman had held her, the way he had kissed her... it hadn't felt as detached as it had been since the day she had walked out on him.
Maybe he was making an effort to keep her here. Maybe he really wanted to give it a go. He knew how she felt about him but he was still willing to change things just for her. He'd given her an out in the contract to make her feel differently about her situation like maybe he did care how she felt.
She tried to smother the flutter of hope in her chest but failed. A smile formed on her face as she yawned and stretched, and then she froze when she bumped into the warm, hard body next to her.
She sucked in a breath when she looked up and met the dark blue gaze.
He was still here.
The sun was shining and he was still in her bed.
"Morning," he said.
His voice was husky from sleep. She'd never heard it like this and it shot a jolt of heat through her already thoroughly sated body.
"M... Morning," she answered.
She sounded breathless. She could never understand how Roman did this to her; why he was the only man to have ever done this to her.
"I have to get to work soon. Want to join me in the shower?"
Shower sex was not new. But shower sex when he was preparing to go? It felt like another huge leap in their arrangement. It felt like something someone did with their significant other.
"Yes," she answered.
Roman's lips met hers briefly before he pulled away and pushed the covers off their bodies.
A brief kiss. Like a morning kiss between lovers.
Her heart was hammering in her chest as she got off the bed. Roman stood naked at the foot of the bed, waiting for her. Proudly naked and his huge dick already stiff and twitching. He was insatiable, and that suited her just fine because she could never have enough of him either.
Roman reached for her hand and then turned to lead her to the bathroom. She greedily took in his body. The strong, muscular back, the narrowing at the waist, the muscular ass and the powerful thighs. Roman was truly a god among men, and she was the only one who got to do this with him.
Was she dreaming? She'd signed the contract now, so was this how it was going to be from now on?
Her head reminded her that she was supposed to now hand in her notice but she pushed that irritating voice out of the way.
Maybe they really could make a go of this.
He let go of her hand to start the shower going before he immediately rounded back to her. His lips were immediately demanding and urgent as his tongue begged entrance, which she granted straight away. And then there was nothing she could do but get swept up in the whirlwind of emotions.
Her chest pressed against him as she grabbed onto his hair to anchor herself, moaning into his mouth. Roman's hands found their way to her ass and gave her a little squeeze before he lifted her against him.
They had done this dance so many times that her body automatically did what he wanted. Her feet wrapped around him and the next thing she knew she was under the warm spray, pressed against the shower wall.
Roman's mouth only left hers when the need to breathe caught up with them. His lips trailed the side of her face, her neck, all the way down to one of her sensitive nipples.
"Roman..." She gasped.
How did he do this? Every part of her body became overly sensitive when he touched her and everything seemed connected to her core. It was an experience unlike anything she had ever known before.
When he palmed her sex she bucked against him, greedy for him. And when he started to use his fingers, she threw her head back and called his name. She could feel her body tightening, ready to explode as he gently circled her with his thumb.
"Roman..." She said again. Begged him. She sounded needy but she didn't care. Roman was the only one who could give her what she wanted.
It took seconds for him to replace his fingers with his beautiful, big cock. Seconds to take her breath away with his girth as he started to continually thrust into her, not giving her a break from the onslaught of sensations.
His fingers dug into her ass cheeks as he held her up, and she knew they would probably leave marks, but she didn't care. She never cared.
"Now, Evelyn," Roman groaned.
And at his command, she started to cum. She clenched around him as she tightened her arms and legs around him, her cries mixing with his.
She'd lost count of the number of times he had pushed her off this cliff during the night but her body reacted as if it was the first.
Roman didn't drop her or put her down even when he softened and slipped out of her. He continued to rain little kisses on her face.
Like lovers did.
When he finally did put her down, he grabbed the shower gel and her body puff before he started to thoroughly and methodically clean her body. Without a word. Without breaking from his task.
She couldn't say Roman had never done this for her before. He always took care of her, and that was the whole reason she'd failed to keep her heart out of this arrangement.
But Roman doing that today... She could tell it was different. He was different.
When they were both clean, Roman shut the water and led her out. Then he dried her first and wrapped her hair in a towel before he concentrated on himself.
Why couldn't she have this all the time? It was perfect. Roman was perfect.
When she was dressed in casual jeans and a t-shirt, towel drying her hair as she sat on the bed, Roman came out of the dressing room dressed in one of his expensive suits.
She smiled at him, but he looked away as he walked over to the side of the bed and started gathering the paperwork.
For a moment she felt a chill.
She hadn't finished reading any of that but she'd signed it anyway.
But she pushed her nagging thoughts aside. Roman was many things but he wasn't deceitful. Everything in that contract would be as he said it was.
Roman finally looked up at her, and it was like looking at a completely different person.
His gaze was cool as it met hers. The warmth he'd had in them from the moment he had arrived was completely gone. Like it hadn't even existed.
"Thank you for a pleasurable night, Evelyn," he said.
So cool like he hadn't just fucked her brains out.
"The car you refused to accept is outside. Use that for now. I don't want your friend picking you up from my house anymore. I don’t want any of your friends here," Roman said before he started walking towards the door. “It’s the only way I can trust that you’re keeping our arrangement between us.”
What? What the hell was going on here?
At the door, he turned back to face her.
"I'll bring copies of the contract tonight. I suggest you take some time to read through it properly."
And then he left.
And just like that, she knew that she had fucked up.
