Chapter 59

Chapter 59

Elizabeth's POV

As soon as those words fell, Aiden's face immediately darkened.

He looked at me with eyes full of dissatisfaction, yet glanced warily at Alexander beside me, not daring to show any displeasure.

I couldn't help but let out a cold laugh, preparing to shake him off again.

However, this time he actually stepped forward and grabbed my wrist directly, though his attitude was extremely humble.

"Elizabeth, I have something I want to say to you alone."

I glanced at Alexander beside me, hesitated for a few seconds, then nodded and let go of Alexander's hand.

Alexander was clearly stunned for a moment, looking at me suspiciously.

I didn't pay attention to that look. Figuring that Aiden wouldn't dare do anything to me in such a public place, I followed his lead and moved to the side.

"I want to talk to you alone." Aiden gripped my hand even harder, almost forcefully trying to pull me aside.

Bianca was about to approach too. I snapped directly, "Since you said you want to talk alone, don't follow us."

Aiden turned back, his gaze falling on Bianca, his tone instantly becoming gentle, "Wait here for now, I'll be right back."

As he spoke, I didn't know if it was my imagination, but I felt like he seemed to be giving Bianca some kind of look, as if hinting at something.

Following Aiden a few steps away, we were far enough that our conversation couldn't be overheard, but I could still see Alexander standing in his original spot when I looked up.

He stood straight, his custom-tailored suit perfectly showing off his figure. Once my eyes fell on him, they seemed completely drawn in, unable to look away.

"Elizabeth, are you really in that kind of relationship with Mr. Windsor?" Aiden's voice interrupted my thoughts, and only then did I look back at him.

"What do you want to say alone? We don't have any relationship anymore, right?"

I stepped back, deliberately creating distance between us, not wanting too much contact with him.

Aiden took a deep breath, frowning at me, looking somewhat bewildered by the distance I'd created.

"Elizabeth, have you forgotten how much you used to love me? How can you actually be with Mr. Windsor?"

Aiden's tone carried excited emotion at the end, and then he was about to move closer to me.

I directly held up my hand to stop him. "Mr. Windsor is watching right there. If you get handsy with me, you'll only upset him."

These words were quite effective. Aiden indeed stopped, a flash of concern crossing his face.

I didn't take the initiative to ask anything, just waited for him to speak.

In this silent standoff, he finally sighed and said, "It's about Grandma. Ever since she learned our engagement was canceled, her health has gotten worse and worse. She often mentions you to me. Elizabeth, for the sake of how much Grandma cares about you, will you come back with me to see her?"

His tone at the end almost turned into some kind of plea. I looked at him with interest.

"Aiden, do you know what you're saying? You publicly defended Bianca in front of everyone - that's basically acknowledging your relationship with her now, right?"

"If I go see Grandma with you at this point, can you imagine what the public opinion will turn into?"

One wave after another - even if Aiden was dense, he shouldn't be unaware of this point.

Which meant Aiden likely had other motives.

For instance, for Bianca's sake.

After all, he'd always wanted my life. Looking at him now, he didn't seem like he was giving up at all.

For him to take such a risk in making this invitation, he might have made more thorough preparations than I imagined.

"Elizabeth, I just think Grandma's health is more important. Don't you think so too?" Aiden directly avoided my question, his tone becoming even softer, as if advising me.

As if using this attitude would definitely make me agree.

After all, in the past, when I was with him, if his attitude softened even a little, I would agree to anything.

Aiden knew too well how to manipulate me, but he forgot I was no longer the person I used to be.

"I won't go back with you." I completely withdrew any expression from my face, letting coldness spread across it.

Aiden completely didn't expect me to suddenly change face, and instinctively reached out toward me.

Just then, Bianca in the distance suddenly cried out loudly, drawing both mine and Aiden's attention.

Not far away, Bianca fell toward Alexander with her eyes closed, looking fragile when she'd been fine just moments ago.

Aiden's reaction was bigger than I imagined. He didn't even bother with me anymore, striding toward Bianca's direction, shouting with a face full of worry, "Bianca!"

He rushed right over.

I frowned, watching Bianca about to fall into Alexander's arms, and also walked in that direction.

Just as Bianca was about to fall into Alexander's embrace, he suddenly stepped aside.

With a dull thud, Bianca fell straight to the ground.

From that fall, I could clearly see anger on Aiden's face, but he took a deep breath and forcibly suppressed his fury.

"Mr. Windsor!" I hurried in that direction.

Alexander's response was very direct, he simply ignored Bianca, and his rejection was quite decisive.

I looked at Bianca lying on the ground with her eyes closed, the corner of my mouth twitching slightly.

Bianca wasn't sick at all. Her sudden fainting just now was most likely just an act.

And she fell toward Alexander's position with such clear purpose that I had reason to suspect she had other motives.

Thinking this, I directly stood beside Alexander, ignoring his look as I took his arm.

"Mr. Windsor, let's go over there."

The cooperation opportunity had already been taken from Aiden's hands. Leaving temporarily was more rational.

"Please wait!" Aiden suddenly shouted to stop us, quickly walking in front of Alexander and me, then saying, "Mr. Windsor, could you take Bianca to the hospital? She's already unconscious."

Bianca had been completely laid on the ground by him, her eyes tightly closed, looking as if she was in great pain.

"You have your own car, don't you?" I stood in front of Alexander, proactively looking at Aiden and saying, "Besides, she was fine just now. If she suddenly fainted, that's her own problem. Are you blocking Mr. Windsor and me because you want to scam us?"

When something abnormal happens, there must be something fishy. Aiden had only looked anxious just now, but now he seemed like nothing was wrong.

"No." Aiden hastily explained, "With Mr. Windsor's status, as long as he says one word, Bianca will be immediately sent to the hospital."

"What you're saying makes no sense." I still refused, pulling Alexander to leave.

Just then, Alexander, who hadn't spoken all along, proactively grabbed my arm, his gaze meeting Aiden's.

"Are you making a request, or are you ordering me?"
