Chapter 11

Alexander's POV

Being occupied by many thoughts, I didn't even know the particular thing I was thinking about.

Everything was not falling in place. I feel like I'm maltreating Sofia too much and when it gets to the media, my image would be garnished and it would greatly affect my company.

It's so obvious that even my own workers would not stop insulting her despite the fact that she's officially my wife.

I made them not to respect her and I have to stop it as soon as possible. I can teat her however I like when we are in a secluded area not in public. The need to get her an office if her own is required of me. I would sternly warn everyone to be nice to her but I know they'd do that in pretense, I don't care anyway.

What I would do from tomorrow henceforth is deal with anyone who dare to insult her. When I get reports that she did something wrong, instead if ridiculing her Infront of everyone, I'd deal with the person who dare to report her to me.

Come to think of it, that's how it's supposed to be because I can't remember treating any of my worker ad bad as I treat Sofia. If I don't do something fast about this, then it would get very vast and it would bring issues to for my company and me.

My reputation matters alot to me more than anything.

I stood up and walked to the vast window that displays the outskirts of the city. Nature is indeed beautiful and just by looking at the sky would cast away all your troubles.

Turning around I saw a small frame in the CCTV camera and it was none other than Marie.

Maybe she's got some documents she wants to show me but clearly looking at her hands, she has nothing with her so what would bring her here?

I heard her slight knocks on the door but kept calm to see her next action... I changed position immediately so she wouldn't easily see me when she comes inside.

The knocks continued and they became louder this time but i didn't open. Soon the door screeched open and she brought her head in first before coming fully with her entire body.

Why the hell was she adjusting her skirt.

Well.....

"What are you doing here!?" I thundered at her even before she had the chance to take a proper look at the office. I watched her jerk out of shock but maintained her composure.

"I uhmm...." Sh stuttered and I realized she's tongue tied.

I just remembered I had some files that needed to be worked in and truth be told, u needed more hands so I asked her to do it.

"I need you to work on some files for me." I stated.

The moment I said that, her brows quivered. I couldn't tell if she's happy or maybe something else is wrong.

"Okay...." She stated and looked around nervously.

She seems uncomfortable but then, a sly smile found its way to sumptuous lips making her lips look wet.

I had to look away due to the temptation I feel was creeping up my way.

"Sir, I need to get something downstairs." Marie said and went out.

Marie stormed into my boss's office, fuming making me wonder what the problem was.

"I can't believe what Sofia did!" she exclaimed. "She's always causing problems, and she never takes responsibility for anything!"

I looked up from my desk, surprised. "What are you talking about?" I asked. "What did Sofia do?"

"She's always flirting with the other employees, and she never does her work!" Marie said, her voice rising. "She's just a troublemaker, and I'm sick of it!"

The guts!

"I understand that you're upset, but I need you to calm down, as the case maybe this is actually irrelevant to me," I said, in a more measured tone. "I need to hear the facts, not just your emotions. So, tell me exactly what happened."

I want to take my time and deal with her but that's when I'm done hearing the trash she had to say.

Marie took a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts. "Sofia was late to work again this morning and she didn't even design the work I asked her to," she said. "And when she finally showed up, she was chatting with a co-worker instead of getting started on her work. Then, when I asked her to get to work, she snapped at me and said that I was always nagging her. I just don't get all of these."

This same Marie came into my office few minutes ago looking all so composed, or is something wrong somewhere.

As Marie spoke, my expression hardened. "I don't tolerate disrespect in my office," I said, my voice low and threatening. "So, are you saying that Sofia disrespected you?"

Marie swallowed hard. She knew that her i wasn't one to mess with. "Yes, sir," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "She was very rude to me."

My face was like stone. "I see," i muttered, my voice cold. "I'll deal with Sofia. But I need to know one thing. Were you also disrespectful to her?"

Marie froze, not knowing what to say. The truth was, I'm sure she was also mean and rude to Sofia and had raised her voice on het. But she didn't want to admit that to me.

"I... I don't think I was disrespectful," she said, her voice trembling. "I was just trying to get her to do her work."

My eyes narrowed. "I know that You're hardworking," I started "but I need to be clear about something. In this office, we treat each other with respect, no matter what. Is that understood?"

Marie nodded, her heart pounding. "Yes, sir,"

I suddenly paused, considering my next words.

"I'm going to talk to Sofia about her behavior," I calmly stated which I know Marie wasn't expecting.

"But I need you to understand that if I find out that you disrespect or disregard anyone in this company, I'll have to deal with you. Do you understand?" I asked sternly.

Marie's face turned to ice. She knew that the I meant what I just said. If she didn't follow my new rules that would come up soon, she would lose her job.

"Yes, sir," she said, her voice barely audible. "I understand."
