Chapter 84 Chapter 84
Chapter 84 Chapter 84
Vamica's POV
I tapped at my phone, logging into one of my socials.
My account had many follower requests and private messages.
What better way to find out the truth if not from there? I clicked on the toppest message.
I already knew from Lila’s tone it was bad, I had thought I would be able to handle it.
You are such a slut, no wonder. I knew you were too low for CEO Knight to have fallen for you.
The message cut deep into places I didn't know could hurt phantomly.
If this was how the rest of the messages are, I wouldn't survive reading through them.
I logged out of my socials, my hands trembling slightly.
The door to the office was pushed open then, Knight striding in with a frown on his face.
“You have seen the news then” He gritted out, his hands balling into fists beside him.
“This is just validating why I need to move my workspace” I let out, my tone carefully blank.
“That wouldn't happen, I told you already bunny” He pressed, his body blocking my view.
I ignored the way my stupid pulse jumped in my neck. “Stop” I let out, my hands clutching at the handle of my chair.
His jaw ticked at the word I uttered, his eyes searching through mine.
“You are just been selfish right now. My whole life is been discussed everywhere right now and you still don't want me to leave your side” I mumbled, my eyes not leaving his.
“I am not some toy you own, if that is what you think. It would only get even worse” I added, my chin tilted up towards him.
His eyes dropped down to my desk for a bit, something like resignation slumping his shoulders forward.
“I would do that. Only on one condition.” He let out, his voice sounding low for some reason.
His voice sounding that way made me feel…off.
I was used to Knight's voice sounding confident and in control, not this…
“Under what condition?” I could falter now that he wanted to do just what I had told him to do.
“Tell me where you are” I paused at that. If he was asking me, that meant Lucas hadn't told him I stayed with Ethan.
If he knew the truth about where I stay, he would flip out.
I couldn't let that happen, not now. “I can't tell you that” I divulged, turning away from him.
Before he could press me for the location, Ronnie knocked poking his head through the door.
“ABJ is requesting a meeting with you, sir” he disclosed, not blinking at the close proximity Knight stood before me.
“I would be there right away” His jaw ticked as his gaze rested back onto me.
“I would take down the post about you” He reassured me, his hands tightening around the desk before he walked out of the office.
Something akin to disappointment curdled up within me. He hadn't even fought against my decision.
I smacked myself on the cheek, my thought process sounding too insane even for me.
I tried to put behind me the situation of things on ground.
My laptop flashed on to life, the brightness making me squint at the screen.
I saw a couple of pending works on my dashboard that needed to be completed.
Crunching on data and it's irregularities, time went by faster than I expected.
By the time I raised my head up from the screen of my laptop, it was already evening and Knight wasn't back yet.
Not that I wanted him here. It would make me living with Ethan all the more visible.
I shut down my laptop, stretching as I stood from my chair, my back popping.
I slipped my laptop into my bag, walking out of the office.
The witch’s words echoed in my ears, goosebumps breaking out across my arms.
“Hey” Ethan called out to me, his hands in his pockets.
I smiled faintly in response, my insides a turmoil of emotions.
As Ethan drove the along the road to his house, my mind tried piecing together the messy picture that was my life.
Knight had mentioned clearly I had a wolf and as far as I was concerned, a wolf was a mythical creature.
Or so I thought until the red eyed wolf had broken into my home.
Then I saw Knight chase after Ethan's car in his wolf form.
It was safe to say werewolves do exist. “Are you okay?” Ethan questioned, his eyes shooting to me as he turned around a corner.
“Nothing” I responded, he would probably freak out if he finds out about what I am thinking about.
Just then, something landed with a thud on the roof of the car.
“What the hell was that?” Ethan let out, clearly shaken.
My breath caught in my chest as I heard low growls rumbling through the roof of the car.
It was a rogue. “Keep driving Ethan” I called out, my voice projecting out a calm I didn't feel.
He nodded, flooding the gas. I could hear the wolf hit the asphalt, a whine breaking out in the air.
“Was that a wolf?” I froze, wondering if he had somehow found out.
“A-are wolves usually in the area?” I stuttered out, my heart beat speeding up.
“No, at least I haven't seen one seen the time I got this apartment” he disclosed.
Speaking of his apartment, how come Knight can't find the place?
Something dark flashed across the road at that moment, a loud thud indicating Ethan's car had hit whatever animal it was.
“I think I hit someone” Ethan said, his hands snapping out the seat belt.
“I-i don't think that is a person, Ethan. Let's just go home” I blurted out, something in me told me it was a wolf.
He froze, his head turning to face me slowly. Something hit the side of the car then, jostling us.
Another hit came from the other side of the car, then another from the roof.
We were surrounded.
