CHAPTER 110
Epilogue
Ruby’s POV
If someone had told me years ago that my life would become this beautiful, I would have laughed in disbelief.
Back then, my world was filled with pain, betrayal, fear, and uncertainty. I spent most nights wondering if I would ever truly be happy again. Loving people had always come with consequences for me, and trusting someone completely felt impossible.
Then Leo happened. Not just as a man who walked into my life unexpectedly, but as the man who stayed, the man who fought for me. The man who held my broken pieces so carefully and never once made me feel difficult to love.
Life with Leo wasn’t perfect, but it was real. And somehow, that made it even more beautiful. He loved me in ways I never imagined possible. In the quiet moments, in the loud moments, in my tears, in my laughter he loved every version of me.
Every morning I woke up beside him, I felt safe. Every night I slept in his arms, I felt chosen.
He became my home.
Leo always said I deserved softness after everything I survived and he made sure I never lacked it.
“Ruby,” Leo’s deep voice suddenly pulled me from my thoughts.
I smiled as he carefully guided me through the garden, his large hands covering my eyes from behind.
“Leo,” I laughed softly. “Where are you taking me?”
“Patience, sweetheart.”
I shook my head with a smile. “You’re acting suspicious.”
“And you ask too many questions.”
I could hear the teasing smile in his voice, and my heart melted instantly. The evening breeze brushed gently against my skin while the scent of roses filled the air around us. The garden lights twinkled beautifully, and I could hear soft music playing faintly somewhere nearby.
“Okay,” he murmured close to my ear.
“Open your eyes.”
Slowly, I opened them, my breath caught instantly. Right in front of me stood a beautiful luxury car wrapped with a massive red ribbon on top. My hands flew to my mouth.
“Leo…”
Beside the car was a decorated table filled with gift boxes, flowers, expensive cooking utensils, baking equipment, and kitchen sets in colors I once casually mentioned loving months ago.
I turned to him in complete shock. “You remembered…”
“Of course I did,” he said softly. “You said one day you wanted your own kitchen space with everything you love. You also said you missed driving because life got too complicated.” He stepped closer, gently holding my hands. “So I got my girl everything she deserves.”
Tears instantly burned my eyes. No one had ever listened to me the way Leo did. No one had ever cared about the little things before him. I burst into tears before throwing myself into his arms.
Leo chuckled softly while holding me tightly against his chest. “Hey, baby,” he whispered lovingly. “Why are you crying?”
“You love me too much,” I cried against him.
“And I’ll keep loving you even more.”
I wrapped my arms around him tighter, my heart feeling so full it almost hurt. “You changed my life, Leo,” I whispered shakily. “You made me believe in happiness again.”
He pulled back slightly, his hands gently wiping my tears. “No, Ruby,” he said quietly. “You changed mine. Before you, I had everything except peace. Except real love. You gave me that.”
I stared at him, overwhelmed by the sincerity in his eyes.
“I promise,” he continued softly, pressing his forehead against mine, “to spend the rest of my life protecting your smile. Even on the days you forget how special you are, I’ll remind you.”
A soft sob escaped my lips. “And I promise,” I whispered back, “to love you through every season of life. No matter what happens, Leo… it’ll always be you.”
His eyes softened instantly.
“It’ll always be you too, Ruby.”
He leaned in slowly and kissed me deeply, like I was the most precious thing in his world and in his arms, beneath the glowing garden lights, surrounded by love, warmth, and the future waiting for us…
I realized something, after all the pain life gave me, love finally chose me back.
