Chapter 57 SUSPICIONS
POV: ELISABETH
My body tingled under the hot water that bathed my skin as Patrick moved up my legs, tracing around my buttocks, where he pinched and delivered a bold slap.
“Hey?” I protested, laughing, receiving an intense kiss as he pinned me against the wall, placing his arms on either side of my head, his gaze intense. “What is it?”
“I need to ask you something, but I don't want you to get mad at me.” Patrick sighed, serious, considering his words. “You don't want me to investigate your past, and that's fine. However, I need the full name of the person who hurt you to ensure our protection now, in the present.”
“Patrick...” I turned my face nervously, but he brought me back to look at him with his finger.
“Please, it's just for protective measures,” he reaffirmed.
“The CIA is not like the army... I don't know if that monster still uses the same name. They are like ghosts in the organization... No real name, no past, no connections!” I clenched my fists nervously, remembering the fights with my former partner.
“Tell me the name you know, and then we'll see what we can do... I have my contacts in the organization. I wasn't just any soldier, you know?” Smiling seductively, Patrick took my lips, his hands moving towards my intimate parts, making me gasp with desire from his touches.
“Is that so? Maybe I should research more about you...” I moaned louder as his finger pressed my sensitive spot. “Patrick, we're going to be late for the meeting.”
“If it were up to me, we'd spend the day here. Let's forget the obligations...” A playful side of the CEO, which I had never seen before, was right in front of me.
Laughing, I pulled his bold hand away, and Patrick turned me against the tiles, entering me with intensity, without warning. I moaned delightedly at the sensation, his hands resting on mine as he moved skillfully, invading me deeper and deeper with pressure. I pushed my buttocks back, wanting to feel him even more profound and intense.
We reached the peak of desire, panting, turning to face him and being greeted by bold kisses that moved from my lips to my neck.
“Mr. Morgan, we're going to be late for the meeting...” I moaned, surrendering to his pleasurable touches. “It's an important deal for the publisher, we can't miss it.”
“You're addictive, Miss Lis...” he whispered seductively, biting the sides of my breasts and returning to my lips. “Damn it, let's get this over with so we can spend the day here locked up, making love.”
Laughing at his way, I stroked his hair, playing with the droplets forming on his strands.
“As far as I'm concerned, we wouldn't leave this shower.” I sighed, fearing having to leave the safe walls where we were. “But we're professionals; let's get to the meeting; it's rude to be late.”
“Lis?” Patrick called me sweetly. “No matter where we are, I will always protect you, understood?”
Analyzing my expressions, I could see that the CEO knew at every moment that I was afraid of the past. I smiled with teary eyes, clasped my hands on his face, biting his square chin, making him furrow his brow and laugh, and took my lips.
“Enough teasing, let's go.” I poked his rib, running out of the shower to get ready for what the day had in store for us.
Having coffee, we went over the points of the contract we were about to close with the small publisher, Planet Films. We left together, and Greg measured us up, turning his face and looking slightly annoyed.
“He really doesn't like me...” I whispered to Patrick, who laughed. I nudged him with my elbow, not to draw attention.
“Ouch, that hurts...” He caressed the spot, intertwining our hands. “Greg doesn't like anyone, he's always been grumpy every morning. His face is even better here; you should've seen him in the army.”
I smiled, shaking my head in denial, liking his laid-back manner. We arrived at the small warehouse and saw Mr. Morgan's security guards spread out all over the place, which made me anxious, even though I knew it was for our safety. As we entered, a sweet and sickly scent filled the room. In the meeting room, with the siblings Alexandre, Pablo, and María, there was a fourth person present. Patrick stopped at the door, looking through the transparent glass that showed the people inside, then turned to me with a rigid posture and eyes plunged in fury.
“Elisabeth, I apologize for what is about to happen...” He spoke, and I frowned when the door behind him opened.
“Well, well, if it isn't my esteemed husband... Long time, no see!” A female voice resonated behind him. I looked over his shoulders, shocked. “Aren't you going to greet your wife?”
I looked back at Patrick, who had narrowed eyes, clenched fists, and a piercing gaze on me. A sharp pang in my chest filled my eyes with tears. I sighed, lowering my head. Going over all the information I had about the CEO, nowhere did it say he was married. But I knew how powerful men could hide information from the world with their money!
I closed my eyes to compose myself, and when I opened them, Patrick was still shielding me from the others.
“Excuse me, Mr. Morgan, we have a meeting to start,” I said firmly. He furrowed his brow even more, sighing.
He turned to the woman who was calling him. She was simply beautiful: blonde, with long straight hair, eyes as blue as pools, very fair skin, full and pink lips, tall, with a slender body, and ample breasts... The very definition of beauty. God really had his favorites!
“Hello, Heloise...” Morgan greeted her dryly, extending his hands to her politely, but she pushed them away when he tried to hug her. “Ex-husband, we already signed the divorce!”
“Oh, that's right, it's been so little time, I had forgotten...” She laughed cynically, sizing me up. “And you must be the secretary with whom my husband has been indulging on his trips.”
Despite the casual tone, it was clear this woman knew about us and was not ashamed to expose it in front of our new partners. I frowned, ready to respond, when the CEO stepped forward, irritated.
“Show some respect to my secretary, Heloise!”Patrick's thunderous tone made everyone flinch. “May I know what you're doing here with my partners?”
“Potential partners, my dear… I came to present them with a better and safer proposal; we know we can't count on you for long.” Winking at him, Heloise had a wide and evil smile on her lips. “Miss, I apologize for the way I addressed you. What's your name, please?”
“You don't have to...” Patrick began, but I cut him off.
“Imagine; it's natural for volatile minds to be hasty in their conclusions.” In a professional tone, I extended my hand to the woman, who was red-faced with fury. “Pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Heloise; I'm Elisabeth Lis, executive secretary to your ex-husband, not his lover!”
