**Maximo**
It was nine hours before Dr. Blaine and Dr. Omello came to the waiting room to talk to me. I jumped out of my chair and walked quickly over to them when they walked in. They both looked tired and upset.
“Well?” I said forcefully.
“We had to open her up to remove the bullet from her abdomen. She was shot just beside her right kidney, not impairing, or injuring, any organs. She is stable and is in for a long recovery.” Dr. Omello stated.
I looked to Dr. Blaine. “And the baby?”
“There were some complications with the baby.”
“What do you mean complications?!” I yelled.
“She lost too much blood, Maximo.” Dr. Omello had stepped in.
“Dr. Blaine preformed an emergency C-section while I was removing the bullet from Mrs. Hernandez’s abdomen. The baby’s heart rate had dropped significantly, either due to blood loss or the sedation.” He paused for a moment. “We were not able to resuscitate the fetus.” Dr. Omello said before taking a step back and looking at the floor.
“You were not able to resuscitate my baby, so my baby is dead?” I answered, shocked. Dr. Blaine and Dr. Omello both nodded before Julio grabbed my arms and sat me in a chair.
I shook with anger. Dr. Blaine and Dr. Omello both retreated behind the bulletproof glass. I stood up and grabbed Julio by the collar of his shirt. “Find who did this, find them and I’m going to fucking kill them.” I stated calmly almost.
**Fallon**
Beep. Beep. Beep.
What is that sound?
I opened my eyes, but the light burned them. I quickly reclosed my eyes, deciding to open them one at a time. Where am I?
I looked around the room. It looked like a hospital room but was obviously in a house. I tried sitting up, but my abdomen ached and pulled. “Ow!” I yelled, grabbing my abdomen. I was in a hospital gown. What the hell happened?
I analyzed my surroundings. I noticed I had a machine hooked to my chest with little stickers, an IV, and a urinary catheter. What the fuck?
I pulled the stickers off of my chest, making the machine alarm. I took the IV out of my arm but noticed that when I tugged on the catheter, it wouldn’t budge. A nurse ran in.
“Oh, Mrs. Hernandez, you’re awake!” She sounded surprised.
“Where am i?” I asked, annoyed with her surprise.
“You are in the Hernandez estate. I believe this was Jesus Hernandez’s old room.” She sounded excited now.
I looked around the room, trying to remember what it looked like when Maximo and I had moved in here together. It looked different. The walls were painted a dark emerald, the curtains were velvet, the flooring was the same marble, but everything else had changed, even the furniture. “Take this out, now.” I pointed to the catheter, but her smile faded. She had already turned off the alarming machine, fluids, and put a Band-Aid over my bleeding IV site.
“Let me get your husband.” She said nervously.
“NO, take this tube out first.” I demanded but she walked out of the room. Bitch. I had finally got myself to the side of the bed. I heard the door slam open and quick footsteps across the floor.
“Maximo.”
“Fallon.”

“Make her take this stupid catheter out before I become homicidal. Maximo smiled and motioned for the nurse to take out the catheter.
I tried standing but my legs were weak, Maximo caught me and helped me back to the bed. “I’d like to take a bath.”
“Oh, no baths until your incisions are healed, Mrs. Hernandez.” The nurse nervously stated.
“Get her the fuck out of here.” I said before throwing the glass of water that was in my hand at her. She ran out, I think she may have started crying.
I stood up again, this time I was able to stand and hold my own weight. I started to walk but was very wobbly. Maximo noticed this and grabbed my waist, helping me into the bathroom. The bathroom had also been redone. The walls were now all marble with a clawfoot bathtub and huge shower.
I stood in front of the large mirror and looked at myself. I had lost weight, my hair was long and tangly, my skin was dry, and I looked different. I ripped the gown off of me, letting it fall to the ground. “Maximo, where’s my baby?”
Maximo stiffened. “Where is my baby!” I screamed but my voice shuttered because my throat was so dry.
“Fallon.” Maximo said, “Why don’t you take a shower, then we will talk about what happened.”
“NO!” I yelled. “I need to know, now.”
“Three weeks ago, we were ambushed in the middle of the night. The men entered through the back deck and quickly took over the estate. Luckily, the guards, Monte, Julio, Joe, and myself were able to put them all down. But we noticed you had gone missing.” He paused. I took a seat at the makeup mirror stool.
“We found a puddle of blood in the garage, but you were not there. We later found you in the garden, barely breathing, and covered in blood. Dr. Omello and Dr. Blaine performed surgery, Dr. Omello was successful with saving your live, Dr. Blaine was unable to save the baby.” He said this….coldly. I felt like my heart had shattered.
Tears began rolling down my face uncontrollably. I looked at my stomach, noticing a 10-inch incision down the middle of my abdomen. It was glued but almost heeled. I also noticed how flat my stomach was, like before I was pregnant. Maximo kneeled in front of me, taking my hands. He pulled me into an embrace, which I was not expecting.
“Maximo, who did this?” He stiffened again.
“Jesus, Fallon.”
