Chapter 58

I woke up to Maximo shaking me. “Get up, we are going home.”

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. “No.” He was annoyed, mad.

“Get up, now. We leave in 30 minutes.” I pulled from his grasp and shook my head.

“I’m not going with you.” He jerked me out of the bed.

“You will not defy me this time, mi amore.” He released my wrists. “Get packed. We are leaving. You do not have a choice.” He left the room. I sat down on the bed and wiped the tears from my eyes. I am not going with him. I had full intentions on buying the building with The Hell Room in it and raising Mr. Heldojo’s rent to an unaffordable amount so he will have to sell to me.

James entered the room while I was thinking. “Are you getting ready?” He asked annoyingly. He could see I was not getting ready, rather just sitting there, thinking.

“No.” I smile smally. “I am not going.”

“I don’t see how we were given the option whether or not we wanted to go?” He questioned. “For the best interests of you, you should probably just get ready and leave your feelings in the bed.” He picked up his bag and walked out. I got up reluctantly and walked into the master suite. Maximo was on the phone speaking in Spanish. He was mad. He turned when he heard the door open.

“Are you ready?” I shook my head. I started to pack my bag, slowly. It was making him uneasy and impatient. “Hurry up, Fallon. We have to leave in 5 minutes.” He was tapping his foot. I continued to slowly pack my bag. “Fallon, for fucks sake! Pack faster! We have to leave!”

“Why?” I asked dumbly.

“Because you have caused a stress in my business, my family’s business. You pissed off a member of the cartel and that comes back on me. So, pack your shit and let’s go. Now.” He walked out of the room and slammed the door. I continued to pack my bags and get dressed. I don’t know how he can solely blame me for what happened with Mr. Heldojo. I had barely spoke to the man before he shut me down. Whatever, I thought. Back to hell I go with a man I loathe.

I carried my bag out of the room into the sitting room where everyone was waiting. “About time.” Maximo hissed. He walked out the door and everyone followed. I followed last. I looked around the room one last time. It almost felt like this was my last bit of freedom.

I hopped into the limo and watched the hotel as we left. I had a horrible feeling as we got farther from the hotel.

We arrived at the private airport and boarded the Hernandez’s private plane. I decided to go into the bedroom so I could be alone on the plane ride back to Mexico. I was sick to my stomach. I had so much business to finish in the states before I left. I wanted to buy that building and go to Miami and try to find a space there for a club as well. I wanted time away from Maximo so I could forget what he did, how he hurt me. I fear I will never be free from him, the only way out is if I die.

I laid in the crisp sheets and waiting for the plane to take off. I felt like crying but wouldn’t risk it with everyone so close outside. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
