When we got back to the house, Maximo excused himself and went into his room. I changed into my nightdress and grabbed a glass of bourbon and went to sit on the patio and look at the stars. I was alone for the first time since earlier that day. I heard the door open. I looked over to see James walking towards me.
“We need to leave, Fallon.” He said nervously.
“What happened?”
“I think they are going to kill me and you. You need to get your things and we need to leave.”
“James, I can’t. They will kill me if I try to leave. Let me talk to Maximo and see if we can make a deal to ensure your safety.”
“Fallon, I don’t want you to sell yourself to him. I don’t want him to touch you. I don’t want you to marry him.” He said hurriedly.
“James, I will figure this out.” I wasn’t ready to leave. I saw a different side to Maximo, a side I would like to get to know.
I walked inside and knocked on Maximo’s door. I heard moaning behind it. I knocked again with no answer. I decided to just open the door to find a woman on top of Maximo. That son of a bitch! “Wow, couldn’t wait 2 seconds without screwing another woman?” I was hurt, I don’t know why I felt so involved with him, we had made our feelings known that this was an arrangement instead of a marriage for love.
He pushed her off him, quickly. “Get dressed and get out.” He said to her pissed. “Fallon, you never open my door without a response, don’t ever do that again.” This was my fault?
“Yeah, that won’t be a problem. I’m leaving. I’m going home.” I looked at the other woman in his room, “Go ahead and finish sweety, I know you were getting close.” I winked at her. She looked nervous and returned my wink with a scared smile. I turned around to walk towards my room when Maximo grabbed my arm and walked me into my room, closing the door behind him. He only had on shorts as he panicked when I said I was leaving.
“What do you want from me?” I yelled at him as he pushed me on the bed.
“I want you to stay. I want you to learn to be with me, for who I am.”
“You want me to stay with you? Well, now I’m going to fear you will sleep with any woman who looks in your direction!” I winced, remembering the woman in the club.
“Maybe you should fuck me then so I would only have eyes for you.” Was his response. I gasped. What an asshole!
“Yeah, no, I’m good.” I said through my teeth. I tried to get up, but he blocked me from standing up. “What is your problem?”
“You, you disobedient woman, you are my problem.” I laid back in the bed and rolled onto my stomach. Making sure he couldn’t see my face. He did not like this, so he grabbed me by my waist and pulled me to the side of the bed flipping me over so that we were facing each other. His face was so close to mine I could feel his breath on my cheek. He was breathing deeply, he was mad. His anger seethed out of him.
“Let go of me.” I said into his face.
“No.” And he kissed me, he kissed me hard. “You are the only woman I have ever kissed on the mouth, Fallon, mi amore.” I looked at him startled. He kissed me again. I didn’t move. I didn’t kiss him back and he realized this. “Kiss me back, dammit!” and he threw himself on top of me, holding me down. He leaned in for a kiss and I met him halfway, kissing him back. He bit my lower lip, forcing his tongue into my mouth. “That’s right, just like you’re told.” He bragged.
I pulled away. How could he just come in here and try to have sex with me when he was just fucking someone else? I pushed his chest. He grabbed the back of my head and pulled me in closer to him. “Why fight it, Fallon? You know you want me. You know you have wanted me from the first time you laid eyes on me.” He was cocky.
“Get off of me.” I demanded, pushing his chest. He held me close. “Please.” I cried. He looked into my eyes, and I could see his rage.
“Just give into me, mi amore.”
“Not tonight.” I turned my head away from him. “This arrangement is not for love, Maximo, it’s for business. Before we ever sleep together, I have some conditions we must discuss.” I was trying to turn this uncomfortable situation into a business deal, like a moron.
He huffed and let go of me, standing up. “We can discuss your conditions in the morning. Do not leave your room tonight. I can’t have you walking into anything else I don’t want you to see.” I rolled my eyes. “Goodnight.” He smiled wickedly.
“Just get out.” I called back annoyed. He left, closing the door behind him.
