"Isn't she taking a little too long?" Celine asked as the two women looked at each other with concern.

"She is," Rosa replied. There was a sour taste in her mouth and an uncomfortable feeling in her chest. "Should we go check on her?"

"It's not like we are doing anything."

Celine got to her feet and Rosa followed behind her. They found the restroom without any problems but there was no sign of Layla. They checked all the stalls but it was empty.

Outside they ran into some staff and asked if they had seen her but they all shook their heads. The only information they found was from the waiter who showed her the restroom.

"Something is terribly wrong," Celine cried.

"I should have followed her."

"There is no way you could have known."

"Cameras!" Rosa suddenly yelled. "We can check."

"Let's go talk to Alpha Davian. I do hope this is not some prank by Alpha Nolan."

"What do you mean?"

Celine sighed as they rushed back to the party. "He once kidnapped me."

"What? Why?"

"He was trying to get me from Alpha Asher."

"He would do the same to Layla?!" she asked in horror. "Is he some omega-obsessed Alpha?"

"I don't know," she cried. "I am just making speculations here."

Celine's face darkened when she returned to the party and the Mafia Kings were not at their table.

"They were right here!"

"Celine," Jael's steady voice reached her ears. "Is something the matter? You seem agitated."

"Jael," she called with relief. "Where are Asher and Alpha Davian?"

"Upstairs," he said with a soft frown. "The party was getting too noisy for their conversa—"

"Take me to him, quickly."

"Okay. Right this way," he said and took the two women up the stairs. "Did something happen?" He queried.

"We can't find Layla, Alpha Davian's mate."

"What? Where was she last seen?"

"Entering the bathroom."

"Shit!" Jael swore. This wasn't good. Davian's missing mate could rip apart the entire truce. He hoped this was some mishap, not a planned attack.

"They are in here," he said immediately, banging loudly on the door before pushing it open.

He walked into the room with his hands up as Asher already drew his gun and was pointing it right at the door.

"Oh, it's just you, Jael.” He said but didn’t lower his gun. “What is the meaning of that?"

"Asher," Celine cried from behind him and rushed towards him.

"Celine," he called in shock as she jumped on him. He barely had time to put his gun away.

"Alpha Davian," Rosa's steady voice came from the door. "We can't find Layla."

All eyes turned to her and Davian was on his feet in an instant. "What do you mean?"

"She went to the restroom and since then there has been no sign of her anywhere. We have checked."

"We even checked the male restroom,” Celine added.

"Is this some joke, Nolan?!" Davian's voice echoed in the enclosed chambers. "Tell me why I shouldn't blow your brains out?!"

Nolan sat quietly typing on his phone. He hadn't said a word since the commotion started.

"Nolan!" he yelled and put the barrel to his forehead.

"I am not stupid, Davian. I am not trying to start a war. You brought enough men in anticipation that I might do something funny. Fifteen cars are absolutely unnecessary. This is not me. However, you won't believe my words so I just asked for the security footage. You!" he said to Rosa. "How long ago was she missing?"

"Maybe twenty minutes," she replied. She didn't like how he addressed her but she was more bothered by how calm he was despite the fact that there was a gun to his head.

"I asked for the footage of the last thirty minutes around the bathroom area. I have also given word to my men to look around. Shouldn't you be doing the same, Alpha Davian?"

"Tch!" Davian said and pulled the gun away from Nolan's skull.

He didn't believe him except for the off chance that he was right and someone else had gotten Layla. If Nolan was the one and he lied, Davian could get him any time.

"Have you tried calling her?" He asked Rosa as he pulled out his phone from his pocket.

"She didn't take her phone," she replied and produced Layla's golden purse. "She left it on the table with us."

"Fuck!" Davian swore and put his phone to his ear. "Nick!" he yelled as soon as his secretary picked up. "Layla is missing, check every nook and cranny of this house at once."

"Asher," Celine softly called. "Can you please help? Layla is my friend and I am really worried."

He took a deep breath and turned to Jael. "Did you not hear her?"

"Right away, Alpha Asher," he said and bolted out the door.

"Why is the footage taking so long?!" Davian yelled.

"Patience," Nolan said. "Whoever they are, they can't leave. They come into my turf and ruin my party. This is pretty personal now!"

The loud beep of his phone echoed in the room and everyone turned their attention to it.

"Give it to me," Davian said and snatched it out of his hands.

"At least let me unlock it, Alpha Davian," he said with a smirk.

Davian was really tempted to blow a hole in his forehead but that wouldn't bring Layla back and as much as his frustration was eating at him, he knew he had to keep it together for her.

He tossed the phone back to Nolan who accepted and opened the messages. "A strange man was seen walking out of the bathroom about five minutes after she walked in. He was dressed in staff clothes and rolling out a trash bin."

"What?" Davian yelled and turned around.

"That's what the messages say and the clip was attached."

Davian snatched the phone from Nolan as he looked at the video. The man in it seemed mindful of the camera. He wore a black cap to cover his face, pushing a huge trash bin.

Is Layla inside?

Davian nearly smashed the phone. His pregnant mate, inside a trash bin. Whoever this fucker was, Davian was determined to kill him on sight.

He frowned as something caught his attention. He wasn't the type to notice gait but something about the way the strange man walked seemed oddly familiar.

The man rolled the bin out the side exit and out of view. He replayed it again, wondering if there was anything he missed.

"Do you have footage right outside this exit?"

"They are retrieving it," Nolan said and stood on his feet. "We should go downstairs."

Davian was already walking to the door before Nolan could finish his sentence. Rosa rushed after him, trying her best to keep up.

By the time they got downstairs, the party had completely stalled and men wearing black roamed the perimeter.

Guests huddled together gossiping but none dared complain despite the treatment they were receiving. They were rather actively staying out of the Mafia Kings’ way.

"Nolan," Davian said coldly, his free hand making a tight fist beside him. The other hand gripped the gun a little too tightly. "Are you absolutely sure no one can leave?"

"Certainly not! My entire mansion is on lockdown."

"Alpha Davian," Nick's voice called from the doorway. "We found something!"
