Chapter 186: Make One’s Stance Clear

Chapter 186: Make One’s Stance Clear

The Main Storms crew hadn't even figured out what was happening when the ambush hit. In seconds, half their people were already dead or dying.

At the sight of the carnage, the remaining Main Storms members went pale and immediately launched a counterattack.

"Those damn bastards dare to come at us? Kill them!"

"We fight back!"

With a roar of rage, The Main Storms crew, faces twisted in fury, threw themselves into the fight.

Their speed wasn't bad, but Wesley's people had prepared thoroughly. There was no way they'd get a chance to strike back.

Ten minutes later, more than half of The Main Storms crew were casualties.

The survivors had managed to hold onto their lives for now, but they were in rough shape, too beaten down to keep fighting.

If this kept up, they really worried they'd die here.

"You damn bastards! Openly challenging The Main Storms like this—this isn't over!"

After throwing out the threat, they immediately fled.

Watching them escape, Wesley's men didn't bother giving chase.

Now that The Main Storms crew had been stopped, Audrey's side quickly stabilized the situation. No point wasting more effort.

The outcome was exactly as they'd expected. Audrey had struggled to handle it, but Nightshade was a different story.

In just one day, most of the resistance was crushed.

Seeing how things were going, the others didn't dare keep fighting. One by one, they chose to surrender.

They thought that by surrendering this time, they'd get the same second chance as before.

They were wrong. You only get one chance.

Facing the crowd on their knees begging for mercy, Audrey's expression was blank, her eyes flashing with cold light.

"I already gave all of you a chance. You didn't take it. Instead, you tried to kill me. So you don't deserve to live."

Audrey's face was icy, her eyes radiating murderous intent.

Seeing her expression, everyone present looked desolate, their eyes filled with fear.

"No, please spare us. We really won't dare do it again."

Several people knelt on the ground, kowtowing and begging for mercy, but Audrey's face remained ice-cold.

"Too late."

She didn't give them any more time to talk. She gave the order directly.

"Kill them."

At her command, her men silenced them immediately.

In just a few seconds, everyone who'd been kneeling and begging was dead.

Seeing that they'd stopped breathing, Audrey quickly expressed her gratitude to Nightshade.

"Thank you, Nightshade."

"General Carroll, no need to be polite. I'm just following General Storm's orders."

With that, Nightshade and his people left.

Meanwhile, the people Laurent had sent out had returned in disarray.

Seeing them come back, Laurent's face lit up with a smug smile.

"Not bad. That was fast."

He'd assumed they'd succeeded, but his men's faces looked terrible.

"Mr. Storm, we didn't succeed."

At those words, Laurent's expression changed instantly.

"What happened?"

His gaze turned cold. His men quickly explained.

"We'd barely set foot in Audrey's territory when Wesley ambushed us. Not only did he kill our people, he seriously injured all of us."

At that, Laurent's eyes went wide.

"What did you say?"

"Who gave him the nerve to get involved in our business?"

"We're not entirely sure, but we can say for certain that our people died at his hands."

At those words, Laurent's face darkened, his eyes radiating murderous intent.

"Wesley, that bastard! I'm going to see what exactly he's up to. If he doesn't give me an explanation today, this isn't over."

With that, he immediately called Wesley.

Wesley was lounging comfortably on his sofa, listening to his men's reports.

His face showed satisfaction, the corners of his mouth turning up.

"Good. You didn't disappoint me."

Just then, one of his men suddenly ran in.

"General King, Laurent's here. Looks pretty pissed. Should we keep an eye on things?"

At the question, Wesley gave a light snort.

"No need. Since he's here, we should show that much respect. Let him in."

Hearing this, his subordinate agreed immediately.

Soon, Laurent walked in, his face dark and expressionless.

Seeing him enter, Wesley asked with a smile.

"Laurent, you suddenly show up here—what's going on?"

"You know damn well what you did. Today you're giving me an explanation. Why did you kill my men?"

"What men of yours? I don't know what you're talking about."

Wesley feigned ignorance. Laurent was furious.

"Don't play dumb with me. Your men went out and killed a bunch of my people. You're saying you don't know about this?"

Hearing his icy tone, Wesley smiled.

"Now that you mention it, I do remember.

"They did go out and kill some people, but I had no idea they were yours."

Hearing this, Laurent was livid, fury blazing in his eyes.

"Even if they weren't mine, does that mean you can just eliminate whoever you want?"

"Of course not. We were just protecting our interests. Audrey and I have a very close partnership. If her territory gets invaded, it causes me major losses. So I absolutely won't allow it."

"As for those people from the Storm family, they trespassed into Audrey's territory without reason and tried to harm her. My men stopping them wasn't wrong at all."

Wesley's argument was logical and sound. Laurent exploded on the spot.

"You—!"

Before he could finish, Wesley cut him off.

"What, Laurent? You think I did something wrong? Or are you saying you want to declare war on me over this?"

"I know you've got some firepower under your command, but I'm no pushover either. Go to war with me, and you can't handle the consequences."

Hearing this, Laurent let out a contemptuous sneer.

"Cut the bullshit. If you want a fight, bring it on. I'll take you on any day."

Laurent clenched his fists, his eyes flashing with murderous intent.

He never imagined Wesley would dare stand up to him like this.

"Wesley, remember what you said today. This is far from over."

Throwing out the threat, Laurent turned to leave, but Wesley's men stepped forward and blocked his path.

Seeing this, Laurent's face darkened, his eyes blazing with killing intent.

"What's this? You want to fight me?"

The men's faces were cold, their eyes flashing with icy light.

Seeing their expressions, Wesley waved his hand.

"Let him through."

At those words, his men froze, their faces showing confusion.

Things had already reached a breaking point. Letting Laurent leave was like releasing a tiger back into the wild. If he left, he'd definitely come back for revenge.

As a general of Frostkeep, Wesley had naturally considered this.

He gave a cold laugh, ignoring Laurent, and issued orders directly to his men.
