Chapter 180 Must Take the Initiative to Strike First
Chapter 180 Must Take the Initiative to Strike First
Gabriel and Michael struck with ruthless precision, every move aimed at Jaxon's vital points.
They intended to take Jaxon down with one decisive blow, but the outcome caught them completely off guard.
Hundreds of strikes, yet they hadn't even grazed the hem of his clothes.
Both men's faces flushed with rage, murderous intent blazing in their eyes.
"Damn it, how is this possible?"
Hearing them grind their teeth in frustration, Jaxon let out a cold snort.
"Is that all you've got? My turn now. Let's hope you can handle it."
Jaxon's eyes went cold. In an instant, he charged toward them, his palm strike sending Michael flying through the air. Michael crashed hard onto the ground, immediately coughing up a mouthful of blood.
His face contorted in agony, completely unable to defend himself.
Seeing this, Gabriel's expression changed instantly.
His face tight with tension, he didn't dare make another move. Instead, he flashed to Michael's side in an instant.
"You bastard! We seriously underestimated you, but I'm telling you—this isn't over. We'll make you pay for this!"
After spitting out his threat, Gabriel didn't dare linger. He immediately grabbed Michael and fled the scene.
Their original plan had been simple: eliminate Jaxon first, then lead their forces to crush Audrey and swallow up her territory in one fell swoop.
But they hadn't expected to hit a major snag at the very first step—they couldn't take down Jaxon at all!
Given how things stood now, they didn't dare stick around.
If they stayed any longer, they'd really end up dead.
Watching them disappear into the distance, Jaxon immediately sent Audrey a message.
[Audrey, meet me at the hospital in half an hour!]
Seeing Jaxon's message, Audrey felt confused but didn't hesitate. She headed over right away.
……
Half an hour later, everyone gathered at the hospital—specifically, in Daniel's room.
Daniel had recovered considerably by now, though his breathing was still somewhat weak.
Audrey looked completely puzzled as she turned to Jaxon.
"Mr. Storm, why did you suddenly ask me to come here?"
Jaxon didn't waste words. He laid out everything Michael and Gabriel had revealed, then turned to Daniel.
"Those two have serious plans, and they're planning to kill you."
Daniel's face darkened, his eyes filled with resentment.
"Those bastards. And to think I used to work with them! They actually want me dead!"
"Cut the crap. You're badly injured right now, and they'll definitely take this opportunity to kill you. So I need you two to strike first."
"Everyone under Audrey has already been replaced with my people, but I can't expose too much of my force. That's why I need your people to cooperate. Once this is settled, you and I are square."
Hearing this, Daniel didn't dare refuse.
After all, Jaxon had saved his life. And he'd figured it out by now.
If Jaxon wanted him dead, it would take nothing at all.
"No problem, I can agree to that. But after Gabriel and Michael are dealt with, their territory…?"
Daniel didn't finish his sentence, but his meaning was crystal clear. Seeing his expression, Jaxon smiled.
"What? You want a piece of it too?"
Noticing Jaxon's gaze, Daniel quickly shook his head.
"No, no, no—that's not what I meant."
"After we take them down, Audrey will take over all their territory."
Handing the territory to Audrey? Jaxon could trust that. But Daniel was a different story.
The man's ambition was massive. If his power expanded, he'd become impossible to control later—and could very well pose an unnecessary threat. Jaxon absolutely couldn't allow that.
"Get moving. They've already started making their move. Wait any longer, and I can't guarantee you'll still be alive!"
Seeing that Jaxon had run out of patience, Daniel didn't dare hesitate. He agreed immediately and set things in motion.
……
Meanwhile, Gabriel and Michael had returned home. Michael's injuries had mostly stabilized by now, but his expression was still extremely grim.
He clenched his fists, eyes burning with hatred.
"That damn Jaxon hurt me this badly. This isn't over. I'm going to make him pay!"
"I'm mobilizing our forces right now. Today, I'm going to kill him!"
Michael was about to deploy his men when Gabriel stopped him.
"Hold on. Don't get worked up."
Hearing this, Michael looked confused.
"What do you mean? Don't tell me you're getting cold feet now."
"He's just some outsider. What do I have to be afraid of? But right now, we need to handle the priority."
"Killing him isn't the priority?"
Under Michael's gaze, Gabriel quickly explained.
"Don't forget about Daniel. Jaxon's no pushover—we need to plan this out carefully. Going head-to-head with him now won't get us anywhere. Instead of that, we should go after Daniel first."
"Kill him, pin Daniel's death on Jaxon, swallow up all his territory—then we can deal with Jaxon at our leisure!"
Hearing Gabriel's analysis, Michael nodded thoughtfully.
"That's not a bad plan. Let's do it."
"You rest and recover. I'll handle Daniel myself—that's more than enough."
"Alone? You sure that won't be a problem?"
"He's badly injured and still lying in a hospital bed. He can't threaten me."
"You get things ready. Once he's dead, we need to take over his territory immediately. The longer we wait, the more attention we'll attract."
"Be careful. I'll make the arrangements."
Gabriel nodded solemnly, his expression dark. Just as he was about to leave, hurried footsteps suddenly echoed from outside.
"Boss! Bad news!"
One of his men came rushing up, face anxious, breathing hard.
Seeing him like this, Gabriel frowned in confusion.
"What happened?"
Under his gaze, the subordinate quickly explained.
"We just got word—Daniel's mobilized his entire army. They're closing in on our territory."
At those words, both men's faces changed.
"Isn't he supposed to be lying in a hospital bed?"
"It has to be that bastard Jaxon. No one else would make a move against us."
"But this works out fine. If he's coming to us, we don't have to go looking for him. Once he's dead, all his people will fall apart on their own!"
"Mobilize everyone and prepare to respond. You stay here and recover—I'll handle this!"
Soon, Gabriel arrived outside the estate.
He stood with his men, staring coldly into the distance.
A small fry like Daniel? He didn't take him seriously at all.
But as the figures drew closer, he didn't see Daniel anywhere.
Gabriel frowned, unease stirring in his chest.
"What's going on?"
Before he could figure it out, Nightshade appeared—machete in hand, cold eyes locked directly on him.
The moment Gabriel met Nightshade's gaze, he felt something was very wrong.
"Who are you?"
"General Carroll's subordinate!"
