Chapter 20
*Ways to hurt her!*
~
I took the last jump shot before practice ended, I had been cold towards my friends; I bet I'm not so good at hiding my feelings or emotions. My friends and I high-fived before we sat on the bleachers.
“What's up dude, who scared the crap out of you?” Rob asked rubbing off the sweat on his face with a hand towel while the others nonchalantly stared at me, waiting for my response.
“Nothing I can't handle,” I snapped without looking up
“Dude...we know what happened to the car!” Bob blurted
“Okay! What's that supposed to mean?” I was getting pissed off already
“You told us that you weren't taking the car and we backed off when we could have gone to Western!” Mason added, he seemed pissed but duck their feelings. We had agreed on using my Dad’s car to drive down to Western but then I thought that it was going to be a lot to handle and risk and so I decided to fake an emergency. Sherry and I hung out instead, doing the nastiest things, and later on, we took a fast lane, and boom, we hit a tree.
I could drive at night but he was different, I was fucking high on the pills I popped. Sherry hyped me into it but what difference does it make?
“So what's gonna happen?” Mason asked
“Nothing. I got everything covered, the engineer’s doing just fine. It's just that Dad is gonna go ballistic but then I'm fixing it anyways.”
I explained and they nodded lightly but affirmatively, they assured me that they got my back. Tiffany would have been the best subtler in this situation but I guess I'm on my own.
In less than some minutes, Mason headed away with his girlfriend, Lacey, she's a cool baddie and if she wasn't for him; I would have made her my girl. She's cute, crazy, and hot. I love how crazy and defensive and outspoken she is unlike that bitch.
Whatever.
From the start of today, Johnson had been staring at me in an askant way, he makes me wanna punch him in the face. If it wasn't for Mason, I probably wouldn't give a fuck. I think he's upset that I hate that nun girl, he's such a dick if he's in love with her...
These thoughts bombarded my mind while we ate at the cafeteria, Rob and Bob wanted to leave, since their girlfriends promised them something exceptional as they'd say. I know what it was. Well, not even Sherry would fix me right now, I'm mad at her fat ass.
“Ain't you leaving too?” I questioned as his brows furrowed. “I’m gonna go when I want,” He blurted out as though I had provoked him. My face squeezed immediately, I’m not gonna let him talk to me in such a manner, I mean, I don’t even like him that much. “Do you have a problem with me?”
“Maybe!” He snapped as he got on his feet. “Why are you hurting her?”
“Hurting who?”
“Don’t pretend Davis,”
“W-W-Wait! Wait, what are you? Her knight or bloodsucking boyfriend? Who the fuck said you could talk to me like that? Don’t go too far bro,”
“I’m not scared of you, Davis!”
“No one said that you’re scared but I would do something to make that happen if you don’t FUCK OFF!” I raised my voice at him while fingers drummed on the table before a word escaped both our lips; I headed away. I waited impatiently for the last period to end, I had wanted to leave earlier than that but Tiffany would cremate me before anything else and it would be me heaping more coals on my head.
*Where the fuck are u?*
I texted Tiffany while seated in the car, I leaned my back. I slid my fingers into my hair and roughly massaged it then I placed my forearm on the wounded window.
*I'm omw!*
I stared at the message then I looked away. Staring right in the rare glass, I sighted Tiffany and that... fucking nun?
I blew out some air out of anger, I was freaking inside my mind.
She irritates the fuck out of me, to be honest.
The car’s door opened, but I ignored it. Tiffany took the passengers while she took the backseat. “Hey, bro!” The nun was contemplating, where or not to say something, well, she better not.
“H-H-Hi-” She stuttered and then I interrupted her.
“...Bitch shut the fuck up, ho’!” I snapped
“Dave c’mon!” Tiffany pointed up
“Yeah, what the fuck?!” I turned away starting the engine.
“Why is she here?”
“She lives next to us, bro! Have a heart!” Tiffany said and I just couldn't help but drive away, I had a more pressing issue at hand other than her crap.
While on the road,“Spoken to Dad?” Tiffany asked
“Are you nuts? How am I gonna do that?”
“Just asking-”
“Are you gonna do what I pleaded for?”
“Dave, you know-”
“Just don't talk about it!” I shut her up and she did shut it. I continued driving as stopped by the gas station, I stepped out of the car slamming the door behind me
**Claudia POV:**
I must admit, the death stare he’s been giving me is making me want to throw up. Like, ever since I stepped into the car, he's been staring at me through the window and it’s keeping me on the edge of the seat. Honest.
“Are you okay, Claude?” Tiffany asked as though she read my mind. As always, I'm not so good at hiding my feelings.
“Yeah, but he's not-”
“Yeah but he'll be,” She heaved a deep sigh while I remained planted in my seat. “He ruined Dad’s car and it's gonna be bad once we get back. Dad is unpredictable, he doesn't joke with his cars. The engineer is fixing it! Says, Dave.”
“That's not sounding good, honestly.”
“Exactly. That's why he's acting a bit cold!”
“Isn't there something that could be done? Like doing something or-” I asked tilting my face a bit and she nodded negatively.
“He wants me to take part of the blame but I can't rsk it. Dad promised me a car on my birthday, and he's not gonna take this softly. That SUV was brand new and Davis messed it up!” She noted.
Davis entered the car and turned his gaze at her, he knew that we talking about him.
“Don’t ever talk shit about me with that bitch. My business remains my business.” He cut a warning and then she pouted focusing her attention on her cell phone. “It's not like I've never had your back or something,” She stated under her breath.
“Still.” He began to drive.
It has been a silent drive, it seemed long and unending. At intervals, while I use my phone, he'd take a glimpse of me through the mirror and when I look up in his direction, he’d smirk, frown or take off his glance. Leaving me with mixed interpretations of what he's feeling.
I love Davis so much, I care for him so badly that I wish I could do something about his situation.
~
I didn't have much to do at home so I decided to stay back at Tiffany's. Not just that, I want to look out for him in any way I can. How? I do not know but I will anyways. Davis headed to his room as soon as we stepped out of the car, he didn't look back. Before he walked in, I was yet to step out of the car because my dress got stuck, Davis almost locked me up automatically in the car, luckily, Tiffany seized the keys out of his hand. That's some level of hate that he has for me, I remind myself. Tiffany and I walked into her bedroom and we fell flat on the bed. Exhausted and wearied, it hadn't been easy through the dance practice.
“You did well today, you learn as lightning,” Tiffany complimented and I gloriously.
“My body aches though!” She playfully smuggled me into her arms as we laughed it off. She promised some pain relievers and some pizza. She stepped out of bed and walked towards her closet, she took off her clothes leaving behind her black bra and black laced panties. She began to tell me about herself and her girlfriend, I knew for sure that she also had a boyfriend and also made out with Johnson.
She said that the girl, which I recognized, got jealous because I was in the picture and that she thinks that I’d take Tiffany away and so forth.
I lay on my stomach replying to a text Johnson sent me.
He wanted to know if we could talk about something tomorrow and I said yes. It's hurting that Lacey and I were just there but then I wouldn't stop trying to make her understand that she'd always be my best pal.
“I didn't like know you liked girls too,” I started up
“Well, I do. I like girls, I like boys too.” She said. She took out a pair of sweatpants and a crop top. She walked towards where I was laying down and continued talking while got dressed. “I have this crazy sex drive so I can never be lonely, Claude, if he doesn't get to fuck me then she'd be there to make me cum in one sitting! Eaten!...” She covered her mouth staring at me.
“That's beautifully gross, Iffy.” I blurted, out of disbelief. I just couldn't believe her reason. She laughed and apologized but there was no need for that.
“Well, I can't wait to see who you end up with before high school is over.”
“Uhm... I can't tell... for now!” I snapped shyly.
We headed out of the room making our way to the kitchen. I asked about Raphael and she said that he was at work. Perhaps. I told her about our intended hang out and she concurred.
“He's not a jerk like Davis, Raphael is very crazy sometimes but knows the shit he's on,” She said, if only he knew that I loved that jerk with my life. We heated the Pizza and made some smooth as well, we sat by the counter. Tiffany told me stories about Texas, then I understood why Davis turned out to be so hostile and unbelievable. Their neighborhood was a place to stay off and that was why their parents moved to NY. “Don’t worry, Davis would learn to accept you for who you are just as I did-we did?!” I smiled at her sweetness. She genuinely loved me which I can attest to. “But have you ever loved someone? Like real feelings? Or maybe you like me!” She asked then teased. I laughed.
“I've never. I'm yet to find out...” She grew more curious to know who it was but something interrupted. Tiffany's parents walked in and we sighted them. Tiffany headed away to hug her parents, especially her Dad. I couldn't forget that he was her favorite, he let her use his card for any expenses.
“Hi, Mr Watkins. Mrs. Watkins, hi.”
I hollered and they returned my pleasantry politely. Mrs. Watkins handed me a new headdress and scarf. It was Burberry. I loved it, I could remember when Tiffany about her mother’s liking for the design. I thanked them and instantly wrapped the scarf around my neck and headed to the counter. I figured that they needed some time alone. They had begun to talk about the SUV and the friendly middle-aged man's face turned into a frown. Stoic and stern. Mr. Watkins asked after Davis and Tiffany tried to digress, she suggested that they both take a rest while she tries to fix up some food. He wasn't having it. He dropped into the sofa with his feet thumping against the ground. Mrs. Watkins headed away, pissed. I took the last sip as Tiffany came to me and pleaded that I stay for a little while and not get terrified. Well, I was freaking out inside of me. I nodded affirmatively as she scurried away to get Davis. I know that he was aware of his parents coming but he decided to stay locked up in his room. A minute later, Tiffany returned to her father without Davis.
“He's not home Dad, I'll go find him,” Tiffany said and her father went ballistic. She came to me and asked if I could come with her if I didn't want to stay, and then I told her that I would be fine.
“Trust me, I'll cook for them and help them relax until you're back.” She hugged me tightly and thanked me, she headed out grabbing the keys that were on the stand. Mr. Watkins headed away before Tiffany and I finished conversing.

02:15 pm,
I prepared Mac and Cheese, it was the briskest I could lay a finger on. When they returned, angry as hell, I informed them about lunch. They were bewildered, they had no idea I was still in the house.
“You-You mean you cooked?” Mrs. Watkins asked with her brows furrowing and then I nodded shyly. They sat by the counter as I dished a reasonable quantity for the couple. They began and before I could realize a thing, they grinned, hiding their dismay over their son’s disregard. Even if I were in their shoes, I would hang Davis.
According to Tiffany, the car was just two weeks old and now it has been smashed. They complimented and I stood beside them, watching and thinking at once. I knew that Davis was somewhere in this house but I can't tell. Ten minutes had gone by, They were done eating, I drew Chummier with a coy smile.
“Can I speak with you both?” I asked calmly, Interlacing my fingers.
“Yes baby, what's the matter?” She asked. I cleared my throat.
“It’s about the” I began as he got a call, he headed away immediately. Thank goodness, he's left. Talking to her would be easier. She beckoned at me to sit next to her, which I did.
“It's about the car,” I said and her face squeezed a bit. “I promise, Davis didn't mean to”
“Claudia you know nothing, it's not his first nor his second. Davis is...” She stopped to breathe. Her palms were flatly placed on her forehead.
“I begged him to take me to the pharmacy, I had a running stomach and so he agreed. He didn't want to at first, he was only trying to help. Returning home, a dog got in the way, he tried to maneuver his way around, not to attack the dog. Unfortunately, we crashed into a tree.” I stopped. Was that even reasonable enough to lie about? Oh my, how stupid. They're gonna find out.
“He should not have taken that car,” She pointed out and I nodded positively. “His father spent a lot of money to get it.”
“We are sorry-i’m sorry. If I hadn't pestered him then it wouldn't have happened. I'm so sorry Mrs. Watkins,” I stood up, pleading with her. She looked away, disappointed.
“I'm disappointed at him, for taking that car. But you both are alive and so it is better than being dead. I can't take it.” She coldly stated and I nodded lightly.
“I'm very sorry about the car. I know that I can't pay for it personally, but Davis took it to the engineer to have it fixed. Soonest.” I said. “My parents and Chloe weren't home and I could not drive either, that was why I pleaded with him. The cramps grew, it's usually hard for me during my period. I swear to you ma'am, I regret my actions. I'm so sorry about that car.” I explained again, in the hope that she'd agree.
It didn't seem bad, she patted my shoulder and beamed.
“I know how hard it can be, it's hard for me too. I hate the times it comes, I fall ill sometimes and so I understand. I'll speak with his father, wait in Tiffany's room instead.” She said and I brisked away with my scarf, headdress, and cell phone.
My walls shaking, I had just lied to his parents, and what happens if they found out? I asked myself. What was I thinking, either way, I have to tell Tiffany about it so that it doesn't get twisted or out of line. I walked inside the room almost out of breath, I was nervous.
