Chapter 166 Almost Kissed
Lily looked at Samantha. It seemed the Harper family really cared about their reputation now.
Samantha held it in for a long time but couldn't get a word out.
Lily was getting impatient. "Are you going to say it or not?"
"Lily, that day at the base, I shouldn't have embarrassed you in front of so many people. That was definitely my fault."
Samantha closed her eyes and said it all in one breath.
Complete silence all around.
Almost everyone was shocked. Samantha actually apologized in public?
And to Lily of all people!
Everyone knew that on her first day at the business school, Samantha had gotten into a conflict with Lily and told everyone to isolate her!
But now Samantha actually apologized. This Lily was really something!
Ethan was the first to speak up. "Samantha, does she have something on you?"
"Mind your own business!" Samantha said and stormed off angrily. No one dared to mess with her.
But the scene became much livelier, and the registration forms were snatched up in no time.
Lily had a smile on her face. She looked at Ethan. "I told you, yesterday was yesterday, today is today."
"Lily, you're pretty capable. I underestimated you. But I'm warning you, don't use these tricks on Sophie, or I won't let you off!"
Lily casually grabbed a can of cola. "Are you leaving or not?"
When Ethan saw the cola in Lily's hand, he quickly backed away in fear. "Lily, remember what I said. Don't bully Sophie anymore."
Lily watched Ethan run away and thought to herself, 'Coward!'
Sophie actually fell for this kind of guy, probably because she was after Ethan's family background.
In her past life, Sophie successfully gained the Murphy Family's approval by stealing all her achievements and glory, and even seemed to get engaged to Ethan.
But in this life, Sophie had nothing.
She wanted to see what tricks Sophie could pull to marry into that family!
After Samantha left, the number of people signing up for the team far exceeded expectations. The two senior girls and Zoey were so busy that their feet barely touched the ground.
Lily was there as a mascot.
But even so, it was tiring.
At lunch, Lily ate an extra serving in the cafeteria.
She had no classes in the afternoon, so Lily went straight to the gym. After all, she didn't get much sparring done yesterday.
Today she had to make up for it!
When Lily got to the gym, she learned the coach had been changed.
"Lily, I hired a new coach to spar with you from now on."
Lily felt inexplicably resistant to the sudden coach change.
"Don't worry, the new coach, Cameron McGinnis, is also a professional, better than me! Anyone else would have to pay more, but not you."
No extra charge? Worth a try then.
Lily didn't think much of it. She changed clothes and got on the platform to start training with the new coach.
The gym owner watched this, then walked aside to make a phone call. "Hello, everything's arranged according to your instructions. Don't worry, she definitely won't get hurt!"
After all, starting today, he wasn't the owner anymore.
Who would have thought someone would actually buy the gym just to change a coach, all to pursue her!
The world of rich people - he didn't understand it!
After Lily finished training, she was in a great mood.
This new Cameron really taught well. Things she hadn't noticed before were all corrected!
Lily glanced outside. The sun had set, and the sunset was streaming through the glass.
She held her water bottle, looking at the sunset outside.
"How's the new coach?"
"Very professional, teaches much better than the previous one..."
Lily looked up and saw Dennis standing behind a pillar. What was he doing here?
He was leaning against the pillar, his figure almost blending with it.
If he hadn't spoken up, hardly anyone would have noticed his presence.
Lily asked in surprise, "What are you doing here?"
"Wasn't I right last night?"
He turned sideways, his eyes teasing.
Lily understood what he meant. This guy really was something!
Dennis walked toward her, wearing sportswear, very casual.
Lily understood. "You arranged for the coach?"
"Not important."
"How is that not important?"
Dennis jumped onto the boxing ring. He put on boxing gloves. "Want to go a few rounds?"
Lily looked at him, suddenly really wanting to punch that handsome face of his!
Lily also walked in. "Sure, have you practiced before?"
"Played around a few times before."
"Perfect, so you can't say I'm bullying you later. The coach said I'm pretty talented."
Lily put on her boxing gloves, looking eager to try. If she could knock him down later, that would feel pretty good.
Dennis took a step forward. "Come on."
Here goes!
Lily started attacking directly, but Dennis dodged.
Only then did she start taking it seriously, but she could never hit him. Dennis seemed to predict her moves.
This was impossible!
Dennis's eyes were deep. "Focus. I'm starting now."
Was he starting now?
Before Lily could react, she was knocked to the ground with one punch.
Lily refused to give up and fought back with all her strength. Her strength wasn't small; she still had that advantage.
But she still kept getting knocked down by Dennis. She was exhausted, but he still seemed so relaxed!
When Lily was pinned to the ground by him for the last time, she gave up struggling.
"So tired. Dennis, you've only played around a few times?"
He was clearly quite professional.
Dennis held her wrist, the corner of his mouth lifting proudly. "Yes."
"You're lying."
"My skills are better than yours. It's normal that a beginner like you can't beat me!"
Lily felt a bit defeated. She suddenly looked behind Dennis. "What's that?"
When Dennis turned around, she attacked him by surprise.
But Dennis caught her wrist, shifted his position, and pressed down on her.
Lily saw Dennis getting closer, and her breathing lost its rhythm.
They were very close.
Both breathing quickly, both covered in sweat.
Lily quickly let go, and he also got up and lay down beside her, his eyes pausing slightly.
The two lay side by side, neither saying anything.
Lily's heart was beating fast. She didn't know if it was because of the intense exercise or some other reason.
She moved a bit, and her hand touched his arm.
She pulled back a little, but could still feel the heat from his arm, impossible to ignore.
Dennis looked at the ceiling. Sweat from his forehead flowed down past his ear.
He could hear her rapid breathing beside him.
He'd heard it before, that time when she was drugged.
His hand slowly clenched. This was killing him.
After resting for a while, both their breathing calmed down.
Lily turned her head and saw that the sunset had turned much redder, falling right on the window. Very beautiful.
She couldn't help but speak. "Dennis, look at the sunset over there."
Dennis sat up. "Where?"
"Right over there..."
Lily turned her head, and her face came right up against Dennis's.
They were very close, almost kissing.
Lily's mind went blank instantly. She couldn't hear anything except her pounding heartbeat.
Like a drum!
In Dennis's eyes, there was only her. He couldn't see anything else.
