Chapter 15 She Came to See How the Match Was Lost

Chapter 15 She Came to See How the Match Was Lost

Lily was calm and collected; she genuinely wanted to leave this house.

Austin scoffed, "Fine, get out right now. I want to see if you can survive without the Roberts family!"

Michael couldn't stand it anymore. "Enough, Austin! What are you saying?"

"Michael, look, it's Lily who wants to leave! She's the one who doesn't want us!"

Austin's eyes were bloodshot, his emotions running high.

He had swallowed his pride today, but Lily still wanted to leave. Did she need him to admit he was wrong before she'd be satisfied?

Sophie quickly stepped in to diffuse the situation. "Austin, don't be mad. Lily was just joking. If she doesn't want to tutor me, it's fine. We have a tutor, and I'm already very happy with that, really."

Austin glared at Lily. "Look at how considerate Sophie is. And look at yourself, Lily. Have you ever reflected on your actions?"

"Austin, let's drop it. Let's go; I have some gaming strategies to ask you about."

Sophie turned to Michael. "Michael, we're heading out."

"Go ahead."

Seeing Sophie being so understanding softened Michael's heart a bit.

Sophie wasn't originally part of the Roberts family, yet her grades had dropped significantly because of the team training.

She always stepped in to mediate whenever there was a family conflict.

Compared to Lily's behavior, Sophie seemed exceptionally considerate.

Michael looked at Lily with disappointment. "Don't take Austin's words to heart. You're still part of the Roberts family."

Lily responded calmly, "I think it's better if I move out."

Michael's expression changed. "Lily, what will it take for you to go back to how things were when we were all happy together?"

Lily's eyes instantly aged a bit, feeling utterly exhausted.

She didn't even have the desire to respond.

Just felt disappointed.

Lily forced a smile. "I can't."

After her cold reply, she walked straight to her room upstairs.

Because she would never repeat what happened in her past life—giving everything humbly, being completely ignored, and ultimately being abandoned.

Never!

After this incident, Lily and her brothers fell into a silent standoff.

They didn't speak for a long time.

But she was relieved, finally free from dealing with them.

Soon, the team's revival match arrived, scheduled for this Saturday.

For several days, Sophie had taken leave from school, claiming to be sick. But Lily knew Sophie was preparing for the competition.

Lily ate and went to school alone, her life unaffected.

Michael approached her, placing a ticket for the match in front of her. "This afternoon's match, you should go watch it. Show some support for the family."

Lily responded indifferently, "Got it."

Seeing her not even ask about the match preparations, her cold demeanor starkly contrasted with Sophie's dedication, even taking leave from school. Michael felt even more disheartened.

"Lily, you'll understand our good intentions when you grow up."

Michael didn't say more and left the hall.

Lily felt nauseated by his words.

She put down her utensils, her desire to move out growing stronger.

She picked up the match ticket; she had to go.

She wanted to witness firsthand how Austin's team would fail without her efforts.

Lily snapped a picture of the ticket and sent it to Dennis: [I'm going to watch the match this afternoon, won't be online.]

They had originally planned to play games over the weekend.

Dennis replied instantly: [Got it.]

As he responded, a sneaky face peeked over, trying to see the chat but failing.

Eric clutched his chest dramatically. "Let me see, come on, don't be so stingy."

Dennis lifted an eyebrow. "Do you want to lose your eyes?"

"So serious? I mean, if you feel guilty, just make it up to her. Why stick around her all the time? What are you trying to do?"

Dennis held his phone with his long fingers.

After a long pause, he replied, "I want to be there for her as she grows, help her through the tough times, until she can live freely."

Eric cheekily added, "Until she grows up, falls in love, gets married, and has kids?"

Dennis frowned. "Something like that."

Her parents were gone, her brothers were biased and unreliable, and she was struggling alone.

Dennis changed the subject. "Do you have tickets for this afternoon's match?"

"Interested in the revival match? I thought Mark directly advanced to the finals?"

"Cut the crap. I need to arrange something before the match."

Dennis looked at the sky outside, at least until she no longer needed him.

If her parents were still around, she wouldn't be struggling so much.

Lily went straight to the competition venue.

She saw many fans outside, holding support signs, including Titan Team fans.

There were even fans of Sophie.

Recently, with the help of Peter's entertainment company, Sophie had become a somewhat popular online streamer.

Young, sweet-talking, and good at charming people.

This approach was indeed attractive in live streams.

Lily glanced at the fans' signs.

She had once bought a lot of Titan Team merchandise, shared many team updates, and actively managed the fan group.

Expressionless, Lily turned away and walked inside with her ticket.

She sat down, looking at the stage, feeling a bit dazed.

After all, in her past life, she had sat on that stage, turning the tide and winning the revival match.

The win was hard-fought.

This team was quite strong, with stable performance.

Unlike Austin, who had skills but easily crumbled, disrupting the match's rhythm.

And he was arrogant, with strong self-esteem, unwilling to listen to others' advice.

Soon, the teams began to take the stage.

Fans from both sides started screaming support, seemingly competing to see who could be louder.

Lily sat calmly, watching Austin and Sophie lead their team, both wearing matching uniforms, looking like a family.

But she noticed Austin's expression wasn't great.

Lily realized Michael and Peter were absent. What was going on?

Weren't Michael and Peter always training and participating in the revival match?

On stage, Austin's face looked grim. He hadn't expected Michael and Peter to cancel last minute, disrupting his plans.

Sophie comforted him, "Austin, Michael and Peter's companies had urgent matters to handle. They couldn't help it; they're CEOs, not professional players."

"What do you know? We've trained together for so long. If they don't show up, how are we supposed to compete?"

"Austin, our team members are excellent. We've trained together, and if we cooperate, we won't lose the match."

Despite Austin's anger, Sophie patiently spoke kindly.

After all, the more she supported Austin during such times, the more he'd appreciate her, slowly replacing Lily's position as his sister.

Though Austin was furious, he had no choice. He suddenly thought of Lily and instinctively said, "Sophie, do you think if Lily were here, the match would go better?"

Sophie's smile froze, feeling annoyed. Why mention Lily again?

Did her efforts, even taking leave to train, still not compare to a Lily who did nothing?

Out of the corner of her eye, Sophie suddenly saw a familiar figure in the audience.

"Austin, Lily came to watch our match."

Lily noticed Sophie looking over, as fans around her started screaming.

Austin's eyes lit up when he saw Lily.

She had come after all.
