Chapter 140 What Evidence Do You Have Left in Your Hands
There was coldness in Lily's eyes. She was determined to make the culprit pay!
This time, Dennis almost got hurt because of her.
If they hadn't been lucky that the car was modified, Dennis would be in serious danger right now.
"Lily, let's discuss this after your injuries heal. If you want to deal with your enemies, you need patience. There's no rush," Eric comforted her.
Lily changed the subject, "Can you take me to see Dennis?"
She wanted to check how badly Dennis was injured.
"Let me go check first."
Eric came back quickly, "Let's go, I'll take you there. Can you manage?"
"I'm fine."
Lily went to Dennis's room with Eric.
When she saw Dennis lying in the ICU, her eyes turned red. "Didn't you say he was okay?"
"There's nothing seriously wrong. He just has a worse concussion than you. He needs to be monitored for now. His family is very worried, so they put him in the ICU!" Eric explained.
Lily stood outside watching for a while, "I'll come see him again when he wakes up."
During the accident, she clearly remembered Dennis turning the steering wheel to protect her.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have just gotten a small injury on her forehead while Dennis ended up in the ICU.
Eric sighed, "Let's go. You should go back and rest. Dennis will probably wake up later."
"Okay."
Lily left with Eric, but then a very beautiful woman walked out of the elevator.
Olivia looked at Eric in surprise, "Eric, you're here too? Who's this with you?"
When Eric saw Olivia, his face changed in shock.
Just my luck.
Eric coughed, "She... she's a friend of mine."
Lily glanced at the beautiful woman in front of her. They just made eye contact without saying anything.
But Lily felt something was off.
The elevator doors closed. Lily looked at Eric, "Who was that just now?"
"Also, a friend of mine." Eric had a headache. Better let Dennis handle this situation himself.
Lily didn't ask more questions, but she felt the beautiful woman's voice sounded somehow familiar.
Like she'd heard it before, but couldn't remember where.
Lily returned to her room to rest. She received a message from Zoey: [There was an assessment at the club base today. Why didn't you come?]
When Lily saw this message, she remembered the club base assessment.
She had missed it.
Lily replied: [I'm sick and in the hospital, so I couldn't come back for the assessment.]
She had originally thought she could expose Sophie's true colors, but so many unexpected things happened!
If the Harper family hadn't helped Sophie, Sophie definitely wouldn't have escaped this disaster.
But she had time. After she got out of the hospital, she'd have chances to settle the score with Sophie!
Lily thought for a moment, "Will Samantha be punished this time?"
"Probably. After all, so many bullying videos and photos appeared online. By the way, was that your doing?"
"Yes, I don't believe the Harper family can control everything."
Lily didn't deny it. After all, if Dennis was J, then Eric must know who she was, too.
"Lily, I didn't know you were so capable. I thought you were only good at AI, but you're good at other things too."
Lily felt a bit embarrassed, "Actually, you guys taught me a lot. I was very young back then, and only you were willing to pay attention to me."
So J was actually Dennis.
Eric was also a bit emotional. He didn't expect they had known each other for so long.
Fate really is unpredictable.
Eric thought for a moment and said, "Be careful with the Harper family, don't let them find out. Samantha will definitely be punished."
Dennis had personally ordered this.
No matter what the Harper family did, they couldn't change this outcome.
"I know."
After Eric left, Lily searched online for news about Samantha. It was the same as before - the news had been suppressed.
But the videos and photos of Samantha's bullying still left traces online that couldn't be deleted.
The Harper family could only post from Samantha's Twitter, saying the account was hacked and the videos and photos were photoshopped.
Lily hacked into Samantha's phone again.
But she found that everything on Samantha's phone was gone. It seemed the Harper family realized the problem and had already destroyed Samantha's phone.
Lily's face turned cold. She would wait for Samantha to be punished!
If not, she would take matters into her own hands.
That night, Lily couldn't sleep.
Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the car accident scene - Dennis turning the steering wheel, actively blocking all the impact and danger!
If someone really had to die, he would be the first one!
Lily still couldn't sleep. She got up and secretly went to see Dennis.
She snuck into Dennis's room and saw his pale face, feeling sad.
Dennis must have lost a lot of blood.
Lily secretly held Dennis's hand. His palm was cold.
She felt upset, "Dennis, you need to get better soon. It's all my fault for getting you involved. After all, you're just an ordinary person. You can't win against these rich people. I'm sorry!"
Lily carefully placed his hand against her face, "Dennis, please wake up, okay?"
"Sneaking in here, crying in the middle of the night - anyone would think I'm dying," Dennis said slowly.
Lily froze, then turned her head to see Dennis open his eyes, those deep eyes filled with amusement.
Lily felt a bit embarrassed and let go of his hand.
She stammered, "You're awake. Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
"No."
"But you didn't wake up."
"I was too tired, so I fell asleep."
Seeing that Dennis seemed to be in good condition, Lily felt much more relieved, "I'm relieved to see you wake up."
"What happened to your forehead?"
Dennis saw the gauze on her forehead and looked worried.
Lily shook her head, "It's nothing. Compared to your injuries, my forehead injury is nothing."
"Girls don't look good with scars on their foreheads."
Lily's breath caught, "During the accident, why did you turn the steering wheel? You didn't have to get hurt so badly."
After she finished speaking, they looked at each other without saying anything.
Lily had trouble sleeping, but now seeing him awake, she didn't know what to say.
Dennis's eyes were clear, "Because I didn't want you to get hurt!"
He wouldn't let her get hurt again in a car accident!
Lily lowered her head in confusion, "Since you're awake, I'm relieved. You should rest first."
Lily turned and left the ICU, her heartbeat quickening.
When she lay on the hospital bed, Dennis's face appeared in her mind, along with the scene of their car accident.
Then another car accident scene appeared in Lily's mind, from a long time ago, just fragments.
She dreamed she was trapped in a car, and finally Dennis appeared and saved her.
When Lily woke up, she found tears in the corners of her eyes.
She hadn't dreamed about that car accident in years.
Maybe because of this accident, she actually saw Dennis in that dream. The two dreams probably overlapped.
Just then, Lily's phone rang.
She answered casually, "Hello, who is this?"
"Lily, which hospital are you in? Michael wants to come see you," Austin said.
"I'm fine. I'd be better if you left me alone."
Austin hesitated before saying, "You said before this wasn't over yet. Do you still have evidence?"
He wanted to know, wanted to see the evidence.
